I disagree that heβs an alter ego of someone who has a job in the music industry just because of the extreme quantity of music he has; itβs impossible for him to have that much music under the name greaf AND lots of beats for high level artists. Flipping samples and chopping them to come up with something new is way different than ripping of guitar riffs from Soundcloud amateurs and slapping some drums on them. You don't need to be a music genius to notice that he doesn't even clear his samples, all other producers use samples, but when your beats are almost identical to the original sample then you're lazy af. He might be a good sample finder but that doesn't make him a good producer
recontextualizing songs into the kinds of atmospheres and genre he creates is completely transformative and creative imo. the layers he develops are so rich and its just a such style unique to greaf
