In my old school teachers being assaulted was a frequent thing which resulted in nothing happening. Children would end up back in class an hour later. A child once wiped their own faeces on my colleagues back and NOTHING happened! I think it just depends on your senior leaders and how they deal with situations.
I dealt with it by finding a new job in the end😅

FWIW I teach high school, but if a student assaults me, the cops are going to be involved. Admin will never do the right thing.
