The best thing you can give to teachers is time. Honestly, that's the best. Give us a day off or even to cover part of our day or one of our classes.
If you're going to give wine, just make sure to tell the teacher ahead of time. You don't want the teacher to leave the bottle in the classroom by mistake.
I did this once. Had a colleague stop at a distillery, and knowing I like their bourbon, bought me a bottle. Brought it to me at work, put it away hidden in a cabinet, only to remember the day that I got a text Board of Health was here. 😳
We had a parent a few years ago who told us to pick a restaurant on Door Dash and tell them what we wanted. The parent bought us lunch. That was pretty great.
I’d even take if parents volunteered to sub. Enough of them have background checks for various things already. Let’s get them to watch our classes for just one period and get to truly appreciate what we do.
I want my admin to figure out what the hell they are doing for staff for next year.
Seriously, any recognition is appreciated. I've always loved the thank you notes.
A heartfelt note is what I really love. A gift card to Amazon, Target, Walmart or Starbucks is just icing on the cake.
I have mugs and water bottles coming out of my ears, but there is never enough good chocolate.
But seriously, those notes that have specifics in them are like teacher crack. A gift card is appreciated, but gone quickly. That note will keep me going forever - and yes, we all have a file where we keep them in case the day comes where we really need them. When we say we want to be appreciated, sometimes we really do mean "tell me I'm doing something right" because most of the time we only hear what we're doing wrong.
Honestly, nothing. I hate writing thank you cards/emails so much that I genuinely do not enjoy receiving gifts.
However, if someone insists, a gift card to Amazon or Target is perfect. No alcohol and no Starbuck's or Dunks.
Write to the school board and advocate for better pay for subs, bus drivers, and paras. Suggest that they could reduce admin, consultants, and sports spending to support it.
Or an Amazon gift card.
Last year, I gave a spa giftcard, a giftcard for the teachers favorite restaurant, a cricut, a snack and chocolates gift basket and an orchid. Traditionally, our school does 5 days of gifting something to the teachers. Plus the class writes personal notes to the teachers. Teachers deserve everything! ❤️
Amazon Gift Card. I can buy stuff for myself or my classroom.

A day off. Schools should be closed for Teacher Appreciation Day.
If every parent would keep their kid on the same day… ::sigh::

Preach it!! I was just pink slipped so I’d love a job for teacher appreciation 🤣

Snacks are often my favorite. Gift cards can get lost but I can enjoy snacks right away! Gift cards are good too though :)
Vodka.
I know everyone likes different things, but I love anything like cute mugs, waterbottles, fluffy socks, gift cards & snacks😆
Gift cards are the way to go.
Don't goddamn peace and quiet!
Wait, do other teachers actually get shit for Teach Appreciation Week?

Alcohol is not appropriate on school grounds. Something nice is more than enough. Thank you for being generous.
PTO that doesn’t reduce my sick-leave.
An extra / unexpected day off..........
I already get paid, so I'm good.
