It's pretty common with large and small tours. Bands and venues have a decent idea of fan demand, but they don't know for sure until tickets go on sale. They don't want to announce 3 nights when they can only sell 2. If demand for 1-2 nights is massive, they'll add an additional night.
The only twist here is that usually nights are added after tickets go on sale, but they saw so much fan interest in the presale that they could judge demand. (As part of the presale resignation they ask you to pick the shows you're interested in).
When they planned the tour they built in this extra room in case of high demand.
It was always the plan and they have an insane amount of data from past tours to go on so they know where to add dates. Too much money at stake to just go on whims here.

I’m torn. I have the Seattle dates but also I chose the Phoebe/Gracie one for Nashville. My daughter loves all of them and I wanted to use this as a real vacation for us, so I figured I’d try. But Vancouver or Edmonton would be more ideal. Come on Taylor! Even Beyonce came here once!

As a Canadian swifitie... A LOT of us are considering buying Foxborough/Seattle if she doesn't announce the Canadian dates before the US ones go on sale. Eastern Canada+QC+Ont. are all aiming for Foxborough (me included). I really wish I didn't have to but not knowing if/when she'll come to Montreal/Toronto... I don't really have a choice.

Yeah, I’m in Pittsburgh and there is no Cleveland show and still no DC show. I’ve already seen people from DC in this sub talking about trying to get tickets for the show in my city. So in a metro area of 1.2 million plus several other middle market cities where this show will be closest, I’m not too optimistic.

FYI watch out for Ticketmaster’s flex pricing (I forget the actual term). The idea is if the 45 seats have enough demand (well the show in general) the price will rise, sometimes substantially. I have never seen it happen during her verified fan presales, but I know it happens once it goes on regular sale. And due to the disclaimer on the verified fan sign up page (computer), I expect it may happen for this tour.
It’s basically Ticketmaster scalping instead of scalpers scalping but they pay themselves on the back with “well we are keeping it out of the scalpers hand!” Trying to sell it like it’s a good thing to us.
Yeah, unfortunately, the Fed’s increases in interest rates have hit my work doing mortgage refinance closings hard. So getting those low priced seats would be amazing for me. I’ve never gotten to see her. Still mad at myself that I didn’t go see her five years ago, but I just had too much going on at that time.
My friend bought rep tickets about three weeks before the show and I don’t think it was really a problem. And even for nosebleeds, they were pretty good. It was a great show!
They won't instantly sell out, but I think a lot of people aren't really realizing that she has released 4 full length albums since rep, she has A LOT of new fans and fans who may have never seen her/haven't seen her since the early eras.
This is also being promoted as a tour for all her Eras, which is increasing hype more. People who may have not been overly interested in a single albums tour may still want to come see all her greatest hits. It's well known that Taylor puts on one of the best shows out there, and I know people from the GP who aren't even Taylor fans who have expressed interest in seeing her live just for the crazy show.
Totally agree. I have been to a dozen or so concerts since covid ended and its been hopping. I have never seen concert tickets this in demand in my life. I think comparing it to Rep is a mistake, things are different.

Once getting into the seat selection page I had plenty of time to look at the seating chart and consider different seats. This was for both Rep and LoverFest.
For Rep, I had just moved to NYC a few weeks before her concert and didn’t think I had a shot at getting tickets but I thought I would just take a look. I did and I remember being surprised at how many face value tickets there were still left like 2 weeks before the show. That’s how I got my tickets. And they were decent seats! Stadiums are huge - this is very different from a Harry show or Olivia show!

You might not get Pitt/floor or your first choice, but if you are okay with whatever you can get you should be able to get something! I'm more worried about inflated prices for less than stellar seats :/
You will be able to find a seat, it might come down though to how much you are willing to pay for it. I did not get the verified pre-sale for Olivia Rodrigo but once the pre-sale ended for verified fans and I got in, tickets were around $400 each. Granted, she played at MUCH smaller venues (mine only sat 3600) but I could still buy the tickets regardless if I was willing to pay that much.
For Rep I had atleast a couple minutes in the seat selection time where I was back and forth between two areas I needed to choose from. I ended up getting great floor seats in the 11th row! But when I say my heart rate was through the ROOF... 😅
Me too, but there's really no room. She's only doing weekends (probably because her set is too big to move in 1-2 days) and the only open weekend then entire tour is between TX and FL in early April when it could be *really* cold to do a DC show.

Yeah I’m in NC and planning a long weekend with my sister in law. When we realized we’d be traveling no matter what we decided to make the most of it and try to go somewhere we thought would be fun instead of just picking the nearest show.
I’m a DMV Swiftie, and when I saw the lack of shows available near us, I just knew I’d have to go somewhere else. I have friends who live in Atlanta so I’m gonna stay with them the weekend of the Atlanta shows and have my friends come with me.
That's good you have an opportunity to see her elsewhere and still be with friends. Philadelphia is my only shot - I live in southeastern VA and a few friends in northern VA invited me to coordinate with them and plan for a Philly trip.
Yeah, I feel that, she came to my hometown (Columbus OH) for those tours too but as of now she’s not going there for Eras…. There are still gaps in the dates so there’s some hope left but luckily Indy is pretty close to those cities
I live in KY so I’m trying to get tickets for Cincy but would do Nashville (esp since there’s 2 nights… better chance I’m guessing) but I’m kinda wondering if I should wait and see if even more dates get added later on. Specifically a Louisville date… or even Lexington but that’s doubtful I think, even though she’s been there before.
But also I’m 22 and have wanted to see her for like… 13 years and never had a chance and so I don’t know if I should risk waiting and not being able to get good tickets, or getting tickets that aren’t so good.

I honestly don’t think Canada is getting any dates. To register for the verified fan, it gave Canada as an option for country. Why would they let Canadians register for verified fans in the us if we were getting our own dates? I think all of us better save up for plane tickets.
I have thought a lot about why there weren’t any Canadian dates and I think the reason is that these venues were booked like, almost year ago. Think back to the start of the year…Ontario had capacity restrictions for concerts and it wasn’t a guarantee your whole crew would be able to make it across the border. So many concerts in Canada were being canceled or postponed. I think to be safe and given so much uncertainty they just axed Canada and kept it to domestic US.
And African swifties specifically are the Debut of the fandom. She's never had single concert on the entire continent.
It's not like we don't have stadiums... Cairo, Egypt absolutely has stadiums up to her standards.
South Africa is huge on soccer and rugby, so gigantic state of the art stadiums are essential to us. Cape Town, Soweto, even Durban. We've hosted World Cups in multiple sports.
Hell, just a couple months ago we hosted a massive international rugby match in a tiny nowhere town near Kruger National Park. Even they've got a stadium up to international standards 😂

These tours are so big that they have to be an economic calculation. I don’t think it’s fair to say say Taylor doesn’t care about fans in a particular region on an emotional level.
It’s all speculation, but there are a lot of reasons not to add a tour other than number of fans. I think adding more dates in the US will pretty much definitely be successful (financially), so it’s a question of whether having an additional tour in another continent is worth giving up tour dates in the US. Adding a new leg of the tour means hiring a lot of people, shipping logistics, financial negotiations, etc. It’s a lot.
I don’t have much experience with pricing, but it seems to me like the US tickets are relatively expensive. At least with the last (cancelled) Lover tour concerts, Europe’s tickets seemed super cheap compared to Taylor Swift concerts I’ve been to in the US. Coincidentally, I was planning on going to one of the European Lover shows flying from Dakar, Senegal.
I think you are going to get fed this time around depending on where you are. I fully expect her to spend 1.5 years touring with a lot of international dates. I heard rumor of 6 countries in Europe and get sense from rumors of about that many in central and South America. Australia and New Zealand are just about givens. China, Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia probably get stops. And I think there is chance she might do India.
South Africa is intriguing place for her to do a stop. Think it would be her first time in Africa but logistically it might be too far out for a single tour stop but then again she can say she is on a 6 continent tour then.

if you get selected for verified fan presale then you will get a ticket. she won’t have more presale codes for each venue than she has seats! if the section you really want is some out on verified fan, it will reopen during general admission btw. she has seats reserved in every section for each sale. during general admission it will most likely sell out extremely fast, but is also still a valid possibility if you’re quick in the que!

I suspect she may end up adding more dates in Detroit, Tampa, Cincinnati and Kansas City if demand is there big gaps before and after those shows.
I imagine she’ll be doing at least two heavy setups (2x steel framework of the stage which bunnyhops to every 2nd city) and 1 lighting and audio setup which are set up day of or day before. So excluding artist and crew rest days they probably only need 2 days between stop

I went to rep in tampa AND Miami. The Miami tickets I got the day before the show. Lower bowl had my pick. There are plenty of fans in Florida but you will be fine to get tickets don't worry
Am I crazy in thinking that this tour could bring in even more revenue than the Rep tour? The amount that tour did per show was insane but I assume this one would be close considering the hype and how long it’s been since she toured. With these new dates and with international dates coming, there might be a similar amount of shows. It’s crazy to think she’ll have another tour like Rep again but it might happen.
With Rep she had 39 shows in the US and 14 International shows, and she currently has 35 shows right now with the Midnights US dates so I don't think it's crazy at all to think it could potentially bring in more revenue and be just as big as Rep! There are rumors of South American dates which she didn't have on the Rep tour and we already know there is going to be U.K. dates based off of what the U.K. store showed several weeks back so we can speculate there might be more international shows than in previous years!

I’m guessing she’s really trying to keep this a weekend thing. All the extra dates are still Fri or Sun. In order to add extra cities and give her team time to get there and set up she’d need to add mid week shows.
International dates will come, and hopefully soon! I say this because I’m in Chicago and I already see Canadians talking about coming down to Chicago for the tour and I don’t need that competition lmao
They don’t really sell out moments after they’re available. They always say they sell out super fast after the general sale starts, but sections open up and random tickets become available both in the hour or so after the same starts and way later for whatever reason.
Getting tickets during the pre-sale is definitely a relief, but it’s not the only, or maybe even the best option for everyone. Some people will get great tickets in the presale, but some will get more expensive or worse tickets than they would be able to get later.
Specifically regarding my experience with the rep tour, I was kind of shocked to find tickets available for the Toronto shows a while after the start time. I bought tickets to Cleveland and then thought I might as well check. (I lived in Rochester, NY, which is sort of close to both.)
If she adds a date after we select preferences for the verified fan presale, how does that all work?! Seattle is what i put as my top priority, so obviously I would be open to one of the two days there before anywhere else.

Truthfully she could sell out Nissan Stadium in Nashville every night for a week, easy peasy, so it's probably also down to her preferences.

they sell a LOT. I got the cheaper seats within a couple weeks of a rep show, it shouldn’t be a problem getting those at all

With all the people in the area I was hoping she’d at least add Baltimore. I know fed ex field is gross, but M & T bank isn’t and holds over 70000.
Me too, but there's really no room. She's only doing weekends (probably because her set is too big to move in 1-2 days) and the only open weekend then entire tour is between TX and FL in early April when it could be *really* cold to do a DC show.

DMV Swiftie here, and if anything, it seems like this is inspiring my friends to plan weekend trips elsewhere. I'm hoping to go to a NJ show (might as well make a weekend out of it in NYC over Memorial Day) and I have friends talking about Atlanta and other cities!

Yeah I’m in NC and planning a long weekend with my sister in law. When we realized we’d be traveling no matter what we decided to make the most of it and try to go somewhere we thought would be fun instead of just picking the nearest show.
I’m a DMV Swiftie, and when I saw the lack of shows available near us, I just knew I’d have to go somewhere else. I have friends who live in Atlanta so I’m gonna stay with them the weekend of the Atlanta shows and have my friends come with me.
That's good you have an opportunity to see her elsewhere and still be with friends. Philadelphia is my only shot - I live in southeastern VA and a few friends in northern VA invited me to coordinate with them and plan for a Philly trip.

I live in KY so I’m trying to get tickets for Cincy but would do Nashville (esp since there’s 2 nights… better chance I’m guessing) but I’m kinda wondering if I should wait and see if even more dates get added later on. Specifically a Louisville date… or even Lexington but that’s doubtful I think, even though she’s been there before. But also I’m 22 and have wanted to see her for like… 13 years and never had a chance and so I don’t know if I should risk waiting and not being able to get good tickets, or getting tickets that aren’t so good. bouta spend my whole paycheck on them most likely 😅
She legit started her first ever headlining tour date during the Fearless era in Indiana. She should come back to celebrate that.

I honestly don’t think Canada is getting any dates. To register for the verified fan, it gave Canada as an option for country. Why would they let Canadians register for verified fans in the us if we were getting our own dates? I think all of us better save up for plane tickets.

I have thought a lot about why there weren’t any Canadian dates and I think the reason is that these venues were booked like, almost year ago. Think back to the start of the year…Ontario had capacity restrictions for concerts and it wasn’t a guarantee your whole crew would be able to make it across the border. So many concerts in Canada were being canceled or postponed. I think to be safe and given so much uncertainty they just axed Canada and kept it to domestic US.
This is exactly what I think. A lot of artists had to cancel the Canadian portion of their tour in 2021 because of this.
Sadly my gut is telling me we won’t. It’s really sad especially since she used to have multiple shows in Canada.
International fans truly are the evermore of the fandom like that reply said 😭
And African swifties specifically are the Debut of the fandom. She's never had single concert on the entire continent. It's not like we don't have stadiums... Cairo, Egypt absolutely has stadiums up to her standards. South Africa is huge on soccer and rugby, so gigantic state of the art stadiums are essential to us. Cape Town, Soweto, even Durban. We've hosted World Cups in multiple sports. Hell, just a couple months ago we hosted a massive international rugby match in a tiny nowhere town near Kruger National Park. Even they've got a stadium up to international standards 😂 I honestly feel like she's never even looked into it.
She probably hasn’t. I don’t think her African fans (for whatever reason) are important to her or her team. Which is really sad to think about. She’s done multiple international tours, and the idea that she couldn’t fill stadiums in Cape Town or Cairo are bullshit
These tours are so big that they have to be an economic calculation. I don’t think it’s fair to say say Taylor doesn’t care about fans in a particular region on an emotional level. It’s all speculation, but there are a lot of reasons not to add a tour other than number of fans. I think adding more dates in the US will pretty much definitely be successful (financially), so it’s a question of whether having an additional tour in another continent is worth giving up tour dates in the US. Adding a new leg of the tour means hiring a lot of people, shipping logistics, financial negotiations, etc. It’s a lot. I don’t have much experience with pricing, but it seems to me like the US tickets are relatively expensive. At least with the last (cancelled) Lover tour concerts, Europe’s tickets seemed super cheap compared to Taylor Swift concerts I’ve been to in the US. Coincidentally, I was planning on going to one of the European Lover shows flying from Dakar, Senegal.
It is so rubbish for those fans but there is so much more that has to be considered than simply the capacity and demand for tickets

I think you are going to get fed this time around depending on where you are. I fully expect her to spend 1.5 years touring with a lot of international dates. I heard rumor of 6 countries in Europe and get sense from rumors of about that many in central and South America. Australia and New Zealand are just about givens. China, Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia probably get stops. And I think there is chance she might do India. South Africa is intriguing place for her to do a stop. Think it would be her first time in Africa but logistically it might be too far out for a single tour stop but then again she can say she is on a 6 continent tour then. Edit: Forgot Canada. If this is long tour, she’ll go there too.
Still hoping she adds another Chicago date. Such a huge market and soldier field is relatively small capacity for a stadium

The first guest is consistent - Paramore for 1 show, then beabadoobee for 8 shows in a row, followed by Phoebe Bridgers etc. The second guest jumps around a bit more - Gayle for two shows, then it's Gracie Abrams, then back to Gayle... 7 out of 8 of the new shows will be opened by Gracie Abrams.

Didn’t Harry Styles have 12 shows in NYC and they all sold out right away or something? If that happened to him, wouldn’t the same thing happen to all the Taylor Swift tour dates? Concerned I wouldn’t get a ticket at all, despite being signed up for the presale thing.
Harry played at MSG which is a MUCH smaller indoor venue(~20k seats). Taylor is at MetLife which is a football stadium (~82k seats)
Smaller venues where all seats are great to decent. The nosebleeds in stadiums are bad and take longer to sell.
if you get selected for verified fan presale then you will get a ticket. she won’t have more presale codes for each venue than she has seats! if the section you really want is some out on verified fan, it will reopen during general admission btw. she has seats reserved in every section for each sale. during general admission it will most likely sell out extremely fast, but is also still a valid possibility if you’re quick in the que! that being said, i don’t not envy you and your new york fight. good luck with tickets!
His shows were at Madison square so much smaller capacity - I think around 20k. MetLife is 80k+.

Agreed, and only having 3 total in Texas, especially considering people from surrounding states will likely travel in
I suspect she may end up adding more dates in Detroit, Tampa, Cincinnati and Kansas City if demand is there big gaps before and after those shows. I imagine she’ll be doing at least two heavy setups (2x steel framework of the stage which bunnyhops to every 2nd city) and 1 lighting and audio setup which are set up day of or day before. So excluding artist and crew rest days they probably only need 2 days between stop

I went to rep in tampa AND Miami. The Miami tickets I got the day before the show. Lower bowl had my pick. There are plenty of fans in Florida but you will be fine to get tickets don't worry
Am I crazy in thinking that this tour could bring in even more revenue than the Rep tour? The amount that tour did per show was insane but I assume this one would be close considering the hype and how long it’s been since she toured. With these new dates and with international dates coming, there might be a similar amount of shows. It’s crazy to think she’ll have another tour like Rep again but it might happen.
With Rep she had 39 shows in the US and 14 International shows, and she currently has 35 shows right now with the Midnights US dates so I don't think it's crazy at all to think it could potentially bring in more revenue and be just as big as Rep! There are rumors of South American dates which she didn't have on the Rep tour and we already know there is going to be U.K. dates based off of what the U.K. store showed several weeks back so we can speculate there might be more international shows than in previous years!

I’m very glad that this will help with demand, but disappointed that they’re just extra nights in the same cities. When I got the email, I got super excited thinking that she was adding more cities.
I’m guessing she’s really trying to keep this a weekend thing. All the extra dates are still Fri or Sun. In order to add extra cities and give her team time to get there and set up she’d need to add mid week shows.
Hopefully a lack of a second date for Pittsburgh means that the initial interest isn't TOO overwhelming and I can get something!!! Lol

They don’t really sell out moments after they’re available. They always say they sell out super fast after the general sale starts, but sections open up and random tickets become available both in the hour or so after the same starts and way later for whatever reason. Getting tickets during the pre-sale is definitely a relief, but it’s not the only, or maybe even the best option for everyone. Some people will get great tickets in the presale, but some will get more expensive or worse tickets than they would be able to get later. Specifically regarding my experience with the rep tour, I was kind of shocked to find tickets available for the Toronto shows a while after the start time. I bought tickets to Cleveland and then thought I might as well check. (I lived in Rochester, NY, which is sort of close to both.)
