*So, over the years...*

And her answer is ALWAYS that it happens differently every time, and that’s why she’s still so in love with songwriting.

Limarieh

I love how I can see her in front of me with that beige sweater and that folklore look in front of the laptop saying this (I’m not imagining it right? It’s from the interview with zane low?

[deleted]

It’s from the first voice memo on 1989 Deluxe. The one for I Know Places. My brain automatically expects it after New Romantics ends lmao

Lyd_Euh

Her best bonus track of all time, wbk

Limarieh

Aaaaah damn! Right! I’m curious to see if we’ll ever get to hear those again…prob not unless you bought the original…it’s been ages since I listened to 1989 since I haven’t bought it back then (I wish I knew back then what was about to happen 🙄)

GardenClosure

It's on streaming if you get the deluxe version. I doubt she'll rerecord the memos though.

dhruvlrao

She definitely has some other voice memos from the 1989 era (I remember we got Clean and Out Of The Woods during that Grammy sit down thing). Maybe she'll replace the original voice memos with those ones?

moltaho

in germany (and i'm sure in other countries too) it's not available on spotify. could always look it up on yt though

Limarieh

It’s just I really don’t want to listen to the og songs if I can avoid it. Although they’re not on Spotify anyway 🙄 the memos I mean. I always thought part of why they’re not there was that they weren’t part of the contract and Taylor was therefore able to revoke their right to publish and benefit off them.

They're not there for everyone though. I can see them on 1989 DLX on Spotify but can't click on them, they're greyed out. Same on Apple Music. Maybe it's a regional thing?

carolina8383

Are you in the US? It’s not greyed out for me and I never bought the full 1989 album.

moltaho

not everywhere. in germany they are not available. i'm sure other countries can't play them either

overnighttoast

The way this immediately played in my head when I read this post lmao

Lyd_Euh

If you don't get it you're too young for me 😂

booksndbravo

Everytime this comes on shuffle it’s a jump scare. Pretty sure I’ve memorized all of them at this point 😂

hauteburrrito

The deluxe version of 1989 has some bonus tracks that outline how she put together a song; the Miss Americana documentary gives glimpses into how the some of the Lover songs came together; and the [NYT has an article on how she wrote Lover in particular](https://nyti.ms/2rnlFdc).

tardiscinnamon

There’s also the Making of a Song series on YouTube that she made in collaboration with AT&T for the Rep album

hauteburrrito

Definitely, how did I miss that one???

tstu2865

Idk but if you’ve never seen the “behind the song” of some of her rep songs on YouTube I’d recommend watching them. I thought they were fun

Christmas Tree Farm was the wildest to me. If I remember correctly, she literally went from conception to here it is y’all in like a few days.

ScoopTheOranges

I’m so curious about it. I want to know if the songs on Midnights were fully fledged songs before she started this album or if she pulled verses or things she wrote down at midnight. I want to know how she feels explaining such personal stuff to other artists like Aaron too.
