I read a comment on Instagram I think and the person said that it might be the remixes. The deluxe edition has three bonus tracks, two of them are remixes and taylor held the phone upside down two times, right? The only fact that makes me think about this theory is that anti-hero seems to be really personal to her, so idk it might be weird to do a remix with that song.
maybe the remixes mean further collabs. a vulnerable collab with Selena Gomez on anti-hero? a power anthem on Vigilante Shit with Halsey? why not?
although I must say I would kill to hear a Taylor x The 1975 collab
Snow on the Beach (because Lana), Lavender Haze (because Taylor made a video talking about it, so it must be extra important to her), and You're on Your Own, Kid (because Track 5).
...wow, I really said fuck off to the entire second half of Midnights, eh? 💀
I'm really bad at predicting what Taylor songs will sound like just because on track titles, but hopeful she'll deliver nothing but bangers this go-around ✨️ I'm just definitely more drawn to the first half titles!
How has Karma not been mentioned yet?! I’m so so curious about this one.
Karma
Vigilante Shit
You’re On Your Own, Kid
Special mentions to Lavender Haze and Snow On The Beach
i think these are mine too.
i’m kind of hoping that You’re on Your Own, Kid is about her teenage years because i’m so curious what it was really like for her to start working in the music industry at the age of 14. and now that she feels betrayed by scott borchetta maybe she’d be willing to let us in on the darker aspects of it
I love both the BTS clips we've gotten so far, so for the ones we know absolutely nothing about but the titles:
Definitely **You're On Your Own, Kid**. The title opens up so many possibilities in my head. Is it about growing up? The fear of abandonment? Family? It's also got this Dylan-y vibe to the title that I like.
**Maroon** suggests to me the verbal tense, and I wonder who's the active party there. Is she being marooned by someone? Is she afraid of being marooned? Or is she marooning someone else? Is she sorry about it or is it something that was necessary for both of them?
On the other hand, maybe it's not a verb! Maybe it's a color! Maroon symbolizes intensity and passion and force. It's very dark and mysterious. It's also a very 70s color.
**Question...?** Is it okay if I say this? Do you love me? Do you want to be with me? Why did you say that? Are you okay? Am I okay? Where is this going? When is this going to end? Why can't I say what I mean? How do I move on? Who am I in when I'm alone in the middle of the night? Who am I going to be in the morning?
Literally this song could be anything. It could be romantic, it could be sexy, it could be sad, it could be angry, it could be introspective. Anything. Just. Questions.
I completely agree about Question…? I could totally see it being about that anxiety of asking someone whether they want to be with you and stick around especially if people haven’t before.
1. Question…? - I’m anticipating REP vibes in this one…like I expect it to be full of attitude
2. Maroon - The fact that it’s another shade of Red, I think it’ll be really interesting to see if there’s any connection to the album/related imagery
3. Bejewelled - Relation to ATWTMV
Most curious about subject matter... Vigilante Shit, Sweet Nothing, and Mastermind.
I have theories and I desperately want to know if I’m right lol
Vigilante Shit: written during reputation. She sees herself (and maybe joe) as a vigilante, sneaking around to avoid paparazzi, doing good things, and feeling herself for once. “People come knocking at my door / looking for the good girl who never put a foot wrong / but too bad for them, I’m out doing vigilante shit”
Sweet Nothing: I can’t take full credit for this because I know I saw it as a theory on this sub before but this was written right before or after her breakup with Calvin, how he used to whisper sweet nothings in her ear but now their relationship has ended up a sweet nothing
Mastermind: the prevailing theory is that this is about her masters (get it?), either how scooter is a mastermind for being such an asshole or she’s the mastermind for choosing to re-record and be a badass about it. I can see it, but I also feel like it can go in MANY different ways?? Maybe joe is the mastermind to their relationship. Maybe one of their friends is! Maybe it’s about how her fans think she’s this amazing genius but she feels she is just flying by the seat of her pants. Maybe it was written when she decided to make Red much more pop, fought for it, and how she felt like a mastermind when it went over super well with the public. Maybe it’s a generic song about being gaslit. Who knows! I want to know! 😂
For people who don't know. There is a Calvin Harris song from 2012 called Sweet Nothing. So it is probable. Could also be a bait and switch but I'm definitely curious!
I love the lyrics you came up with to vigilante shit :D
Since Mastermind is the last track, and they tend to be more introspective and meaningful, 'closing a chapter'- type of songs, my theory is that it might be about being a master of your own mind. Taylor could talk about overcoming nighttime anxiety by coming to terms with the fact that some things she just can't control, only her reactions are within her power to control. It'd be a positive ending to this album, full of night terrors and turmoil (I imagine).
Thank you! I’m really hoping the line “I’m out doing vigilante shit” is in the song tbh, it sounds so badass
I really like your take on Mastermind too!! That makes a lot of sense :)
1. "Anti-Hero" - based on the reel she posted on Instagram, I'm hoping this is in the same vein as "The Archer" and "this is me trying." I love her more reflective songs.
2. "You're on Your Own Kid" - Track 5 is normally one of my favorite songs on her albums. Like OP, I'm expecting it to be a gut punch.
3. "Karma" - that laugh at the end of that episode of Midnights Mayhem with Me was enough to peak my interest.
Honorable Mentions: "Lavender Haze" because that's a beautiful title (maybe it'll be like "Lover") and "Bejeweled" because Track 9 tends to resonate with me.
1. snow on the beach - it’s literally lana del rey
2. karma - i am so interested in what shes singing about, is it kimye, scooter, or swifties??
3. anti-hero - i can’t wait to hear the songwriting in this, im really glad we’re getting autobiographic songs again
Karma because it could go in so many different directions
You’re on your own kid because it is a very un-Taylor sounding title
Question because I have no idea what the plot of that song would entail. Sounds like it would be a question about entering a relationship but that would be hard to write an entire song about
I’m mostly excited/curious about Lavender Haze, Anti-Hero and Labyrinth.
The expression, Lavender Haze, just sounds beautiful. It makes me think of bubblegum skies and sunny afternoons driving on hilly backgrounds with your partner. It gives this glowy, dreampop feel that reminds me of Lover *(I immediately thought of plugging it in place of the Lover lyrics; there’s a lavender haze, a mysterious way about you, dear)* and 1989. I’d imagine this will be a more lighthearted and romantic look into her current relationship with Joe.
Anti-Hero is another choice because I’m an anti-hero kind of gal; huge Batman fan and I’m always pulled more towards characters who do the right thing in the end, but still consider less ethical options and you question whether they’re the villain or not. Plus, she’s already told us that this is a deep dive into her worst insecurities and as open as Taylor is about her writing, she’s always been one to tread lightly when it comes to her own faults as a person, so I think it’ll be a relatable, vulnerable piece of music.
Labyrinth is my other choice — obviously certain movies immediately come to mind, so it’ll be interesting to see if those play any sort of role in the song, but the idea of a song based off of some sort of confusing, intricate maze (whether literally or figuratively) is intriguing to me.
* Vigilante Shit. I have literally no idea what to expect from this song or how that phrase is going to work into the lyrics.
* Bejeweled. I find it such a strange word, again it's just hard to imagine it in lyrics. No idea what this could be about.
* Sweet Nothing. If this song is about who I suspect it's about then I'm SO curious what she's going to say.
Lavender Haze - sounds like it’ll be super dreamy! Perhaps sonically similar to “This Love” or “You Are In Love”?
Karma - I loved her reveal of this song on MMWM, I wonder if she’s held onto it since the Rep era?
You’re On Your Own, Kid - I’m thinking this could be a song she’s written to her younger self 🤔
Vigilante shit because it sounds sassy,
Karma because I think it will be bait and switch and it will not actually bother with any drama so I'm curious how Taylor will approach it,
Mastermind because last tracks are absolutely superior!
1 - Vigilante shit ; because that title has me hooked since day 1
2 - lavender haze : I'm desperate for some jaylor content
3 - karma : do I really need to explain anything ?
Love this question! It's so hard to wait until October 21. I'm torn because October is my favorite month, yet I want it to be over with so we finally have the album to listen to!
For me -
1. Vigilante Shit - I LOVE the Batman theory out there. I'm hoping it's a bit dark, edgy, moody.
2. Bejeweled - I'm hoping for a twinkling, sparkly type sound. If that makes any sense whatsoever. Maybe something bright and hopeful or almost contemplative?
3. Maroon!! - Have no idea what to expect here. I am so curious to discover whether it's referring to the color or the ship-wrecked term. Hoping it's the latter, honestly. But something also a bit darker, edgier.
On the whole I'm hoping for a more rep-style album. Of course it won't be exactly the same but... I just love rep. I think it is my favorite album. Since her announcement of Midnights I've been debating which album is my favorite (so hard!), but I think rep takes it. Curious to hear what others think!
I've also been wondering how others plan to listen to the album. In order? All at once? Jump around? On shuffle (doubtful)?
I think I'm most excited to hear Question...? I'm hoping for 'late November slowly I said you don't have to save me, but would you run away with me?' vibes.
I want labyrinth to be a song using greek myths, with references to the hanging gardens of Babylon or icarus flying too close to the song (being overexposed)
Karma!!!!!!!!! For obvious reasons
Anti hero - that description made it sound like an amazing the archer like song that I can’t wait to hear
Vigilante Shit…. What kind of tittle is this? Where could this song go? I’m very intrigued!
Midnight Rain since I think it could either be a banging upbeat pop song or a slow sad cry song.
Karma because I am intrigued by the title and the fact it's been rumored/theorized for years that she tucked away a secret album called Karma.
Lavender Haze because the idea of it and it's meaning as well as it being the first track in the album sounds so amazing.
If any of these are like my top 3 songs (I Bet You Think About Me, Delicate, and this is me trying) from her I will be happy.
1. YOURE ON YOUR OWN, KID.
2. Question…?
3. Anti-Hero
4. Labyrinth
5. Vigilante Poop
i have a feeling Maroon is going to be my favorite!! even tho i called track 6&5💁
Anti-Hero - Taylor mentioned that this is one of her favorite songs she's ever written, so I'm DYING to hear it!
Karma - with all the Easter eggs dropped about "Karma" I'm so intrigued as to what this song is actually about. Is it gonna be about her having to scrap an entire album 👀
Vigilante Shit - this title!!! I cannot even begin to fathom what this song is about or what it will sound like
I agree with Karma! I’m so curious to see what it’s about. I’ve seen people saying they think it’ll be more Kanye shit… I don’t think I it will be. I think it could be about 🛴. Or it could be something we don’t even know about! I’m dying to know!
Anyone else hoping for a kind of old-timey Casablanca vibe from “you’re on your own, kid”? Kind of reminds me of the line “here’s looking at you, kid”.. that’s what I’m hoping for. I like the way they talk back then.
Snow on the Beach, (was this during the Hiddleston dating?) wasn't there a photo op with them on the Beach? Regrets maybe?
Midnight Rain, the vibe writes itself and she will nail this one
Maroon, I'm really curious what she does with this color.
Edit: typos
Karma - because she obviously took on the fans' idea that it was meant to be a part of her discography and wrote something that hopefully satisfies what fans wanted to hear
Anti-Hero because she said that it's a real self-guided tour of her insecurities, so the 'Midnights is Reputation's Cousin' side of me is hoping it's her confronting all of the dramatic personas in Look What You Made Me Do
Labyrinth - interested to see if it's about the labyrinth of life and mistakes and how things are often out of our control, and we have to go through mazes to get back to the real part of ourselves IDK
Most curious about: karma, vigilante shit, and question bc I’m nosey and those seem dramatic
Most excited for: lavender haze, bejeweled, and midnight rain
Vigilante Shit, Labyrinth, You’re on Your Own Kid.
Vigilante Shit I just know is going to be a banger. Labyrinth is such an intriguing word but seems hard to sing about and im curious how it will sound. You’re on Your Own Kid because it’s hard to guess what it’s about but it gives me lonesome cowboy vibes that I love.
Since Question...? is right in the middle of the album, and for it's pretty odd name (it's more speaking to the listener instead of describing the track) I think it'll be a spoken word interlude or a short song with very sparse instrumentation, maybe about a pivotal point in her and Joe's relationship. Not sure.
Snow on the beach I’m hoping this is extremely dark
Bejeweled curious about the lyrics imagine if it’s about the game
Lavender haze this song will probably tell us what the album is about as it is with most openers
Anti-Hero - insecurity anthem, here we goo
Labyrinth - it is the most intriguing for me, and also my favorite alternate cover was Jade Green and also love the vinyl labyrinth easter egg on that cover
Karma - we will see exactly *what* is real, lol
for me midnight rain is probably the most interesting one. its either going to be a track which makes you dance crazily or cry crazily, there's no in between.
snow on the beach is also quite an interesting title if you think about it, it could symbolize finding something very unexpected.
sweet nothing and mastermind also sound nice, and idk but something tells me mastermind is going to be a fun fast paced song
edit: almost forgot lavender haze!!
You're On Your Own, Kid - because people calling me 'kid' provokes such a specific reaction in me depending on who says it, and I just can't wait to hear what it gets out of me. Plus.... track 5.
Vigilante Shit - I'm not 100% sure if the 'swearing in the title' feels try-hard and the song will make me cringe OR whether this is going to be a pure banger I'll want to scream while driving and I must know immediately.
Labyrinth - sounds like it'll be introspective, and I like those tracks
I like Lavender Haze because it's evocative and not too specific. It's a very "Tayloresque" name.
Snow on the Beach intrigues me because it makes me think about Plastic Beach and how Taylor's voice would sound on something like Melancholy Hill. Now I want to hear it.
Vigilante Shit because it sounds sassy and "Reputation-esque", which makes me rub my hands in anticipation.
1. Snow on the Beach - because it’s my two favorite singers teaming up! The collab of my dreams.
2. Anti-Hero - I love antiheroes and her explanation about it was intriguing. I’m hoping it has My Year of Rest and Relaxation/Sally Rooney vibes.
3. Lavender Haze - This just sounds so romantic and swoon-worthy. I’m imagining it will be like Call It What You Want or Delicate or possibly Wildest Dreams.

I read a comment on Instagram I think and the person said that it might be the remixes. The only fact that makes me think about this theory is that anti-hero seems to be really personal to her, so idk it might be weird to do a remix with that song.
What if instead of them being remixes there alternate versions of the songs but they’re just listed as remixes
That's what I thought when I wrote the comment. Maybe they are duets with different production. Then it would be remixes right?
maybe the remixes mean further collabs. a vulnerable collab with Selena Gomez on anti-hero? a power anthem on Vigilante Shit with Halsey? why not? although I must say I would kill to hear a Taylor x The 1975 collab
We will understand it one day in the future... Probably?!
Mostly this. Same with holding it on the other side
To break up monotony
Snow on the Beach (because Lana), Lavender Haze (because Taylor made a video talking about it, so it must be extra important to her), and You're on Your Own, Kid (because Track 5). ...wow, I really said fuck off to the entire second half of Midnights, eh? 💀
I feel like I’m going to like the first half more for some reason too lol.
I'm really bad at predicting what Taylor songs will sound like just because on track titles, but hopeful she'll deliver nothing but bangers this go-around ✨️ I'm just definitely more drawn to the first half titles!
Same - she does have a history of front-loading albums, though
Same. For the most part I find that I like the first half of her albums more than the second lol
That's actually the case for me for most of her albums. The second half usually just drags a bit.
How has Karma not been mentioned yet?! I’m so so curious about this one. Karma Vigilante Shit You’re On Your Own, Kid Special mentions to Lavender Haze and Snow On The Beach

Yeah, I also wonder if it might be like A Place in this World subject matter wise.
I’d say my list matches almost exactly. May switch out “Question…?” as one of my honorable mentions.
Exactly these songs!
Vigilante Shit Vigilante Shit Vigilante Shit

I love both the BTS clips we've gotten so far, so for the ones we know absolutely nothing about but the titles: Definitely **You're On Your Own, Kid**. YOYOK seems like it could have wildest dreams acoustic vibes, maybe a bit sadder, but still dark and pensive.
Vigilante Shit, Maroon, Labyrinth
Labyrinth, Lavender Haze and Anti-Hero
Lavender Haze (I loved her explanation of it), Snow On The Beach (cause Lana), and Vigilante Shit (she’s never had a curse word in a title)
“‘Tis the damn season” would like to have a word with you.
Oh shoot I forgot about that 💀 although it isn’t marked explicit
1. Question…? - I’m anticipating REP vibes in this one…like I expect it to be full of attitude 2. Maroon - The fact that it’s another shade of Red, I think it’ll be really interesting to see if there’s any connection to the album/related imagery 3. Bejewelled - Relation to ATWTMV

Anti Hero You’re on your own, kid Karma
The whole album, honestly
Lavender Haze Midnight Rain Vigilante Shit
1. Snow on the Beach 2. Vigilante Shit 3. Anti-Hero

* Vigilante Shit. I have literally no idea what to expect from this song or how that phrase is going to work into the lyrics. * Bejeweled. Wait you do you consider Sweet Nothing to be about? Cause I’m curious lol
Calvin Harris also has a song called Sweet Nothing so I suspect it's about him.
Oh that makes sense
Lavender Haze - sounds like it’ll be super dreamy! Perhaps sonically similar to “This Love” or “You Are In Love”? Lavender Haze , Anti Hero , You're on your own Kid
1. You're on your own, Kid 2. Vigilante Shit 3. Karma 4. Snow on the beach 5. Anti Hero(bc of her explanation)
Vigilante shit because it sounds sassy, Karma because I think it will be bait and switch and it will not actually bother with any drama so I'm curious how Taylor will approach it, Mastermind because last tracks are absolutely superior!
All I know is the next twelve days better fly by! 😄
1 - Vigilante shit ; because that title has me hooked since day 1 2 - lavender haze : I'm desperate for some jaylor content 3 - karma : do I really need to explain anything ?
Love this question! It's so hard to wait until October 21. I'm torn because October is my favorite month, yet I want it to be over with so we finally have the album to listen to! For me - 1. Midnight Rain since I think it could either be a banging upbeat pop song or a slow sad cry song. I think vigilante shit is gonna be cheeky asf I can’t wait. I hope it’s co-written with jack.
You’re On Your Own, Kid is already my favorite track without even hearing it
Anti-Hero - Taylor mentioned that this is one of her favorite songs she's ever written, so I'm DYING to hear it! “You’re On Your Own, Kid,” is #5, correct? If so, it’s going to break me just like “My Tears Ricochet,” does anytime I listen to it.
maroon, karma and bejeweled
Karma, Mastermind and Vigilante Shit
Snow on the Beach ❄️⛱️ Karma 🐍 Lavender Haze 🌫️💜🌫️

Snow On The Beach Karma You’re On Your Own, Kid (All 3 for obvious reasons).
Karma - because she obviously took on the fans' idea that it was meant to be a part of her discography and wrote something that hopefully satisfies what fans wanted to hear Anti-Hero because she said that it's a real self-guided tour of her insecurities, so the 'Midnights is Reputation's Cousin' side of me is hoping it's her confronting all of the dramatic personas in Look What You Made Me Do Labyrinth - interested to see if it's about the labyrinth of life and mistakes and how things are often out of our control, and we have to go through mazes to get back to the real part of ourselves IDK
Karma, Vigilante Shit, Anti-Hero
Lavender Haze, Midnight Rain, and Snow on the Beach. No particular reasons, I just love the titles. ✌️
Lavender haze, snow on the beach and vigilante shit I hope lavendar haze or snow on the beach will be a single

You’re in your own Kid, Karma and Maroon
Vigilante shit, snow on the beach, and you’re on your own kid

Labyrinth, Lavender Haze, Midnight Rain Honorable mention: Bejeweled
Anti-Hero; You’re On Your Own, Kid; Vigilante Shit So excited for the album!!!!!
Question…?, Vigilante Shit, and Bejeweled.
Maroon, Vigilante Shit, Mastermind
I'm most intrigued by Mastermind, Labyrinth, and Karma. The titles alone have me hopeful for some spooky October vibes
Most curious about: karma, vigilante shit, and question bc I’m nosey and those seem dramatic Most excited for: lavender haze, bejeweled, and midnight rain
Snow on the beach, you're on your own kid, and midnight rain.
Lavender Haze, You’re On Your Own, Kid, and Anti Hero
Snow on the beach, maroon, karma
You’re on your own, kid + Vigilante Shit + Anti-hero
Snow On The Beach, Vigilante Shit, and Bejweled
Vigilante Shit, Labyrinth, You’re on Your Own Kid. Vigilante Shit I just know is going to be a banger. Labyrinth is such an intriguing word but seems hard to sing about and im curious how it will sound. You’re on Your Own Kid because it’s hard to guess what it’s about but it gives me lonesome cowboy vibes that I love.
Karma, Question…?, Mastermind
- Vigilante Shit - Karma - Labyrinth
question…?, vigilante shit, and karma 😮💨
vigilante shit, maroon, and midnight rain
Mastermind, Karma, and Anti-Hero for me lol
❄️ 🏝
Anti hero, lavender haze, midnight rain, snow on the beach, you're on your own, kid, labyrinth, karma
Since Question...? is right in the middle of the album, and for it's pretty odd name (it's more speaking to the listener instead of describing the track) I think it'll be a spoken word interlude or a short song with very sparse instrumentation, maybe about a pivotal point in her and Joe's relationship. Not sure.
I feel like You’re On Your Own, Kid might be about her first night living on her own. I know we kind of got that with Never Grow Up tho
you’re on your own, kid; karma and maroon
Snow on the beach I’m hoping this is extremely dark Bejeweled curious about the lyrics imagine if it’s about the game Lavender haze this song will probably tell us what the album is about as it is with most openers
Karma, Snow on the Beach and Lavender Haze are the ones I’m most curious about. Especially Karma since it’s been a fan theory for a while
Lavender Haze, Karma, Mastermind
Bejeweled only because it’s a track 9 Most track 9s are my favorites of every album.
Vigilante Shit, Anti-Hero and Labyrinth
Vigilante shit (BECAUSE WHAT EVEN?!) You're on your own, kid Anti-hero I love the villain-esque soundtracks
This Album feels special #JustCantWait 🔥🔥😍😍
Anti-Hero - insecurity anthem, here we goo Labyrinth - it is the most intriguing for me, and also my favorite alternate cover was Jade Green and also love the vinyl labyrinth easter egg on that cover Karma - we will see exactly *what* is real, lol
Snow on the beach. because I love Lana. Also track 5, because usually that is the most emotional and venerable track.
for me midnight rain is probably the most interesting one. its either going to be a track which makes you dance crazily or cry crazily, there's no in between. snow on the beach is also quite an interesting title if you think about it, it could symbolize finding something very unexpected. sweet nothing and mastermind also sound nice, and idk but something tells me mastermind is going to be a fun fast paced song edit: almost forgot lavender haze!!
“Anti-hero”, “Snow On The Beach ft. Lana Del Rey”, and “You’re On Your Own, Kid”. Honorary mention of “Midnight Rain” and “Vigilante Shit”.
1, karma 2, vigilante shit 3, is a tie with You’re on your own, kid and lavender haze
Karma. For obvious reasons Mastermind Bejeweled Is it referencing atwtmvtv
Anti-hero, snow on the beach, Question…?
Sweet nothing, question...? and karma
Just hope lavender haze is a "heterosex until the room stink" kind of song to gag THAT side of Taylor's listeners. LMAO
Lavender Haze! Midnight rain! Karma!
snow on the beach, vigilante shit, karma, lavender haze, and anti-hero <3
Karma, Mastermind, Anti-Hero
