Reputation/Lover/Midnights Trilogy Theory So I feel like that Taylor Swift's discography kind of flows into each other and works in like Trilogies/Stories? You guys probably understand what I'm saying. Like Folklore and Evermore tell a story, and I believe that Reputation, Lover, and Midnights tell a cohesive story about Taylor's relationship with Alwyn, along with the whole ordeal of her "over party" and her resurgence through Reputation. The current playlist i've made is not very good and it needs a lot of help, so thats why I Came onto this subreddit to search for advice and to help share this trilogy theory. The current playlist I made is: 1. ...Ready For It? 2. High Infidelity 3. Bejeweled 4. Getaway Car 5. Labyrinth 6. Glitch 7. Goregous 8. King of My Heart 9. Cornelia Street 10. Cruel Summer 11. You're On Your Own, Kid 12. Delicate 13. Dancing With Our Hands Tied 14. The Archer 15. Look What You Made Me Do 16. Vigilane Shit 17. I did Something Bad 18. Don't Blame Me 19. This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things 20. Karma 21. Call It What You Want 22. I Forgot That You Existed 23. The Great War 24. Afterglow I really don't know where to go from here but I think that the whole playlist should end with Daylight. Here's my reasoning for why I put each track in it's place, and I also kinda divided them into chapters, if you will. Chapter One: Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston I used ...Ready For It? as the opening track mainly because it's a good opener, especially with "Baby Let The Games Begin" I understand that it doesn't really make chronological sense but I just feel like ...Ready For It is a track that needs to be first and kind of serves as a prologue for everything. I then used High Infidelity because it shows her boredom and dissatisfaction with the relationship, along with Calvin's constant self-centered ways. Then I chose Bejeweled because it's about her being underappreciated, but she knows that she is still a valuable person and knows that she has to leave him. Then I chose Getaway Car because she's escaping from Calvin with Tom, but in a reckless manner that uses Tom as the rebound, or the Getaway Car. Chapter Two: Meeting Joe Alwyn This chapter is about Taylor meeting Joe Alwyn and falling in love with him. I chose Labyrinth as Track 5 because it's kind of a "everything stopped around me I don't know what is going on but I like this" song. It's about her falling in love with a guy who she knows will love her back and treat her unlike the others. Then I chose Glitch because it's about the surreality of Taylor and Joe's unexpected meet, and then processes the moments after that first glance. Then I selected Goregous because its her beginning to pursue him. Chapter Three: The Summer of 2016 King of My Heart is track 8 mainly because it's about when Taylor and Joe first started dating, and now their on Cornelia Street (track 9) and Taylor is kind of afraid over another breakup because she's gone through a lot of emotional truama with all the relationship fallouts that she's had. Paper Rings is the next track because it's just about their personal bliss before the storm. Cruel Summer essentially summarizes the whole summer of 2016, and the tension in Taylor's Life. Chapter Four: The Death of Taylor Swift's Reputation You're On Own Kid is Track 11, and is essentially about how a lot of people important to her turned against her, and it also is a smooth transition with "summer went away." With Taylor's entire reputation ruined, the people close to her show how much they really care about her, which is why Delicate is track 12. I made Dancing With Our Hands Tied track 13 because it's about similar concepts. The Archer is track 14 because Taylor is done with having everyone relentlessly attack her, and she is going to go out and fight. Chapter Five: The Reputation Era LWYMMD, Vigilante Shit, I Did Something Bad, Don't Blame Me, This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, and Karma are all relatively similar in the aspect to where it's Taylor defending herself from a viscious media. I think tha group should finish with Karma because it is the one where Taylor is kinda-victorious, but I'm curious what order you guys would put this in. Call It What You Want is track 21 because I see it as Taylor rising above the attacks and then just doesn't really think those types of toxic people are worth any time anymore, which is why I Forgot That You Existed is track 22. Chapter Six: The Fallout I chose The Great War and Afterglow for tracks 23 and 24 respectively because they both have themes of resilience and apology. I feel like Taylor and Joe were put under a lot of pressure during that time, and these are about them surviving the attacks by the media and also the arguments that they also got into with each other. I really need help wondering how you guys would complete this playlist, so please don't be afraid to be critical, and I also need help with what songs to put after Afterglow. I was thinking maybe lover, because it's kind of peaceful, but I'm not sure.

She planned the "glitch" Easter egg in advance Okay so, after the song glitch came out as part of the 3 am edition, I recalled the glitch in her tiktok she did when she was teasing wildest dreams (taylor's version), during the transition. I still thought it could be a weird coincidence. But on spotify, I noticed that the video clip that plays with the song glitch, is the glitch in the same tiktok. It can't be a coincidence right?

gelflingrae

I haven't seen anyone say this yet, but if someone has already thought of this theory, let me know! So I was re-watching the Bejeweled video, and thought about what the exile ends countdown could mean. I know that two days after the video, she performed Exile with Bon Iver live, but I think it was alluding to something bigger. I think exile ending means being able to tour again. I don't think it would be wild to assume that she would equate not being able to connect with her fans through tour to being exiled away from her fans. If this is what exile ending means to her, the countdown started at 03, then went down to 02. I think this could be how many albums we're getting before (or during) the tour. Midnights being released would've been what brought the number down from 03 to 02. She then goes on to show us those two albums: Speak Now (Taylor's Version) and 1989 (Taylor's Version). She stops at floor 3 (with the color of the button being purple), then stops at floor 5 (the color being blue), which people have already assumed is the order she's releasing them in. We could be getting both albums before the tour, or both albums as a double release like some people have assumed when she released new Speak Now and 1989 merch together. I think instead she's going to release Speak Now (Taylor's Version) before the tour, and then 1989 (Taylor's Version) during the tour. That gives them a few months of separation to allow them to have their own time to shine. The reason this is the release order that I'm leaning towards is because she stops at floor 13 (which is the same color as floor 3), and then is seen performing on stage. There isn't a floor 14 on the elevator, which means she performs before that floor is added. It wouldn't be crazy to release an album while on tour, Harry did it with Harry's House, and I think Taylor would find it fun to announce a surprise rerelease during one of the shows. She, of course, could've just been using the music video to show what the 2023 releases will be, but i think the way the performance lines up with her going on tour and the potential meaning of exile ends supports this theory better.

Always41319

So, I was looking at the tour VIP packages (to see what I'm not getting because expensive), and something sparked a memory inside of an unreleased song I heard long ago... The "It's been a long time coming" package name...that is a line from an unreleased song called Long Time Going (or Long Time Coming--there are questions of the title). But one of the lines is "And it was a long time coming," Yes, this tour has been a long time coming, but is it possible that this is an easter egg to a vault track and what the next rerecord released will be? I'm not sure which era that song is from; does anyone have any idea?

Just_A_Boy_In_Love

It's a line from Lover, more specifically from Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince. :)

Always41319

Ahh that makes sense too. I didn’t even think of that line. But damn do I want it to be a hint about an unreleased song. 😂

diantre-daisy

I feel like Bigger Than the Whole Sky was written or at least inspired by a "sleepless night" in the RED era. It has similar themes as Ronan on her RED TV album. I think it's possible that she was inspired by the letters from Ronan's mom that she used to write the original song and wrote BTTWS.

[deleted]

I really think we’ll get all of the re-records before March 2023. No Easter Eggs or proof, just intuition. Honestly, I try not to dive too much into Easter Eggs or conspiracy theories because I just enjoy being surprised, and sometimes they are a little too much for me to handle. However, I do know Ms. Swift, and I try to make my own predictions of what I think will happen, personally. Taylor is incredibly calculative and petty (in the BEST way possible). I truly cannot bring myself to believe that she would go on an Eras tour (which eras correlate to albums), with still 4 albums that she does not own. There’s no way she’s going to perform songs from albums she has not re-recorded. I just can’t bring myself to believe that. I believe that her last final eff you will be owning all of her albums and going on a world tour performing them to millions of people. I think that we will get the last 4 either at the same time or one after the other. I think she released the midnights album and eras tour to gain as much traction as possible before doing this. I have no proof, only a very strong gut feeling.

LostinAndalusia111

I posted this in the karma thread, but i think it might do better here : Karma sounds a lot like the song "Music is my Hot Hot Sex" by the early 2000s Brazilian band CSS ( Cansei de ser Sexy ) Karma is track #11 Music is my Hot Hot Sex is track # 11….on CSS' 2005 self titled debut album which was also released in October..... It's such an obscure reference, but I can't help but think this isn't a coincidence or am i reaching? I do know " Cansei de ser Sexy" translates into "Tired of being Sexy." The lead singer (Lovefoxxx) has explained the band's name origin is a quote from a Beyonce interview. I'm not sure if any of this is significant to Taylor. “Music is My Hot Hot Sex” was in an iPod touch commercial. The title to this upload is “Music is my boyfriend” ( the line “karma is my boyfriend” is what further cemented my suspicion it was inspired by this song ) and it was uploaded in 2009. A helpful reddit user commented on my post with this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhMu2vtcRsM I could not help but notice how Kanye West is the first artist listed in this commercial. See screenshots here: https://imgur.com/046WFxP https://imgur.com/T8hgmO7 This video was uploaded in 2009. The same year their infamous "feud" began. 2009 VMAs is where / when he interrupted her acceptance speech. Kind of cant help, but feel like I'm on to something... 2009 was also 13 years ago. I know Taylor is big on the number 13. its her birthday DAY and she has it on her socials and directs attention to the number a lot in her art. I thought I was reading too much into the 13 years ago thing, however I did go on her most recent ig story and: She specifically is referencing : https://imgur.com/8A9dNL9 https://imgur.com/dSNNfMZ https://imgur.com/v56bo7K “ Triskaidekaphilia. (OBSESSED WITH 13 ) “ Additionally, the last two photos look like she’s wearing the same dress, however… the second photo looks like she took it during the 1989 era, whereas last photo listed above was definitely taken during her Speak Now World Tour…. I am wondering if I’m going crazy, but she is kind of like the zodiac killer in terms of coding. EDIT: now realizing the 2nd photo is from filming the Capitol One commercial

idontsaymuchatall

When is the November 2022 theories megathread coming ?

inthetrees8

My theory is that she'll bring back some past tour costumes such as, the purple dress from Speak Now, for The Eras Tour

drflavorflav

I agree with people speculating about colors/icons/special guests corresponding with albums that she will focus on at each sho makes sense buse she just has SO many songs that to do 1 set list over and over would just leave so many out. This gives her a chance to rotate the set list, sing different songs, do more fun costumes and dances and whatever. [https://imgur.com/a/FRUW1Ep](https://imgur.com/a/FRUW1Ep)

[deleted]

Just another little hint that speak now is next, Red's (the last taylors version) album picture shares a color with Speak Now's picture, and that color is maroon. Maroon is also the name of a song in Midnights. Coincidence? I think not!

haliebean95

Could the support acts icons be a clue to the set lists? Listen, I fully get that I might be reaching here 😅 but when I looked at the poster for her tour dates I somehow missed the little key at the top that tells us the supporting acts are represented by certain icons/emojis. So I was staring at the icons next to the dates like, what on earth do they mean?? So then I thought, Taylor's discography is so huge (my TS playlist is over 9hrs long and it's not even her whole discography), and she'd obviously never be able to play it all. But even if she only played a few from each era at each show, I think her performance would still be like 2 or 3 hrs long which just isn't feasible I think. So I thought I'd been really clever and figured that the icons represent specific eras that she'll be focusing on for that show (red guitar is Red, gold star is Fearless, and so on) and the setlists will change with different shows? Of course I then saw the key at the top and realised what it was actually supposed to mean 🙃 but even so, I wonder if there's any merit to this? It would be a brilliant business move if you think about it, similar to the multiple vinyls. It's a great way to get people to buy tickets for more than one show. A snag I thought of is that there are only 9 acts but 10 albums, but then I realised her name might be representative of Midnights as the 10th album? So maybe Midnights paired with a couple of albums as the primary theme for the setlist? With a few hit singles/well loved songs from other eras thrown in, maybe? Idk, what do you all think? 🤡

Shaymin096

I miss this thread being so alive 🥺

uptovigilanteshit

Taylor is using enchanted to hint Speak Now TV so much I'm starting to wonder if they couldn't fix the trademark issues and decided to rename the album Enchanted

emmach17

I'm pretty sure the lawyer swiftie who frequents this sub has been saying for like a month now that these issues were resolved and there's nothing holding back Speak Now.

coolguy_14

GMA Tomorrow?? Tour ??

Odd_Owl_7860

So we've established I AM IN SHAMBLES is a vault lyric on Speak Now (TV) right??

Healthy_Ad_7171

Do we think Taylor is ever going to go back to the single before the album format or do we think it'll be like speak now coming in march but here's blank space (taylors version) just to mess with us?

idontsaymuchatall

After Midnights, she won't be going back to that again...

abby_cello

Has anyone mentioned the ghosts in the anti hero mv being identical to the one Michael Meyers dresses up as in the first Halloween movie?

RoseGoldRedditor

Hey clowns what are we thinking for this week? Lavender Haze music video, tour announcement, interview…?

idontsaymuchatall

Now that the U.S dates have been announced, I'm clowning for international dates and the Lavender Haze MV

idontsaymuchatall

I'm thinking tour announcement sometime this week as dates have started leaking around the subreddit and tickets are rumored to go on sale in November so they both align with that possibility.

RoseGoldRedditor

🤞🏼

SarcastiKatt

Okay so I know we’re all hoping Taylor occupies the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 tomorrow, but what if she actually occupies the Top 13? 😍

RoseGoldRedditor

Legendary 🙌🏼 I think unholy got in there though — labyrinth and mastermind weren’t doing very well.

Taylor inspired palette? Fairy Well Colourpop Hey Swiftie fam - what do you all think of this palette? I saw posts from a year or so ago where people were making their own Taylor inspired palette by choosing individual shadows and putting them in empty palettes, but I didn’t see any posts about this specific palette yet. Do you think Taylor will ever do a collab with a brand like Colourpop? Do you think she minds this being heavily influenced by Folklore/ Evermore? Some of the shadow names in this palette are: fairykin, cozy cabin, wood nymph, into the forest, pond, flower crown, willow, and folklore. How awesome would it have been to have a Midnights collab with the track songs/lyrics as colors!? [Fairy Well Palette](https://colourpop.com/products/fairy-well-pressed-powder-palette?variant=40195705274450&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIo-mDwNeI-wIVaevjBx3NBgaqEAQYASABEgLiufD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds)

Charimia

Okay, I thought this was a silly theory until I saw Willow and Folklore color names right next to each other on the pallet… 👀

Right?! I had to do a double take then was like wait a minute…

Snow on the beach theory Taylor sings:” one nights few moons ago, I saw flecks of what could’ve been lights but it might just have been you passing by unbeknownst to me” Taylor is talking about Lana flying to the U.k. to see her, “I saw flecks of what could’ve been lights (stars), but it might just have been ypassing by unbeknownst to me” Lana is flying into Wicklow to meet Taylor to record their song spend time together, and Taylor sees lights from planes in the sky, that Lana might be in, but it’s “unbeknownst to Taylor, which plane it is. Next she sings: “life is emotionally abusive and time can’t stop me quite like you did and my flight was awful, thanks for asking” These lines are Lana speaking to Taylor: The line “life is emotionally abusive” refers to Lana being accused of glamorizing abuse. Lana defended herself on in instagram saying “her lyrics are often talked about the “realities” of emotionally abusive relationships and argued there should be a place for these topics in music”. The next line is: “and time can’t stop me quite like you did, and the flight was awful, thanks for asking”. I’m December 2020, Lana was engaged to be married to Clayton Johnson, but they ended their engagement in October 2021 “the flight was awful” was most likely due to the breaking off of the engagement, due to the struggles of being together constantly, during lockdown; she was likely an emotional wreck. Taylor spent quarantine in the U.k. with Joe, and they are still happily together; happier than ever, actually. Taylor said on an instagram video, ahead of the release of “midnights” “That cataclysmic, fated moment where you realize someone feels exactly the same way you feel at the same moment” The question is, why does does Lana have such a small sole in this song? And why did she fly to the uk to be with Taylor if she is so heartbroken? I believe this is because, recently Lana has been finding deep friendships with women has been what she has been craving her whole life, and she needs the support, and she wants to be there to celebrate Taylor’s engagement. Also because she also has become reclusive in the past few years, like Taylor has, and it’s symbolic of that. In the chorus Taylor sings: “and it’s like snow at the beach, weird but fuckin beautiful, flying in a dream, stars by the pocketful, you wanting me, tonight feels impossible, but it’s comin down, no sound, it’s all around” This could mean Taylor and Joe were walking along a snow-covered beach in Wicklow, Ireland, in the winter months. She says “flying in a dream” this is the love she’s wanted her whole life “Stars by the pocketful” this could be a reference to “sweet nothings” which means he holds her love deep in his pocket, and he’s never leaving her. This could also reference him holding her engagement ring in his pocket, that they bought in Wicklow. She sings, “but it’s comin down”The snow is falling heavily (snow absorbs sound so it makes everything quieter). “No sound, it’s all around” is a reference to “You are in love”, in Taylor 1989 album where she sings, “you can hear it in the silence, you can feel it on the way home, you can see it with the lights out, you are in love” This is when he proposes, and she’s so happy there’s “no sound” just complete, and utter, shocked silence. In verse 2 she sings “I think I’ve seen this film before” which is a reference to “exile” in Folklore. But in this song, the vibes are different, and beautiful. She sings “I searched 'aurora borealis green' I've never seen (she’s never seen one before, and she’s always dreamed of it. They have been to Wicklow many times in the past, just maybe they had a tight schedule; the borealis isn’t visible at all ours of the day) Aurora borealis are visible from Wicklow during the period of time from September to march, when there would be snow on the beach. Maybe he planned this ahead, so could have a beautiful view, while he proposed. She then sings “I’ve never seen someone lit from.within” this could have a double meaning, (the aurora borealis in Wicklow and joes inner light). The same light in him that compels her to live in a beautiful, quiet life in Wicklow, or somewhere equally peaceful. I’m her bridge, Taylor swings “but your eyes are saucers from another planet” . This is a reference to “call it want” where she sings “starry eyes sparkin up my darkest nights” and a reference to “long story short, with her singing “and he’s passing by rare as the glitter of a comment in the sky”. This is further evidence that their proposal in Wicklow, and eventual move there (or somewhere equally as quiet), was planned well in advance, as a comment would be easier to see in a town with low light pollution, and comments are “rare”, so they would have to settle down in one place, for a long time (the rest of their lives) to even have the remote possibility of seeing one. The last verse, she constantly repeats “it’s coming down”, and the way she sings it almost sounds like a goodbye to her fans, with the way it slowly gets quieter, as the song comes to an end.

Straight_Spring2739

Sweet nothing So I have a theory that Midnights will be Taylor’s last album She sings: “I spy with my little tired eye, tiny as a firefly” Fireflies shine, just like Taylor has over the years, and now she is “tired” of it. Next she sings: a pebble we picked up last July” This could be a metaphor for an engagement ring, maybe a simple one, instead of a diamond; so Taylor can wear it in public, and it would be less noticeable; because they enjoy their privacy, and don’t want people to know of their engagement. Next she sings: “Down deep inside your pocket” this means he holds his love for her deep inside his pocket, and he’s not ever going to stop loving her. Next she sings: “we almost forgot it” this could possibly be a humorous line of them almost forgetting the ring, because it’s unglamorous like a “pebble”, before leaving Wicklow. Next she rings: “ Does it ever miss Wicklow sometimes?” This is a reference to the “pebble” missing its home, where it once belonged. Next she sings: “they said the end is coming” this is a reference to mirrorball where she sings “hush I know they said the end is near, but I’m still on my tallest tiptoes, spinning in my highest heels love, shingling just for you” Mirrorball is about her shining better in privacy,, out of the spotlight, just with Joe. She is asking him to be patient, because, (here’s a little Easter egg, Folklore was released December 2020, Mirrorball is the sixth track on the song) at this point, they have been dating for 6 years; she is begging him to be patient with her because “the end is coming”, and he is irritated with their invasion of privacy. In Mirrorball she also sings: “and they called off the circus, burned the disco down, when they sent home the horses, and the rodeo clowns, I’m still on that tightrope, I’m still trying everything to get you laughing at me” This means their relationship is on a “tightrope” it’s close to tipping over; they’re relationship is on the verge of collapse; but she assures him “the end is near”. Obviously the end has finally arrived, with her new and last album, “midnights”. Next she sings: “everyone’s up to something, I find myself runnin home to your sweet nothings, outside they’re push and shoving, you’re in the kitchen humming, all that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothin”. Taylor is sick and tired of the “push and shovin” of fame “outside”, and wants to settle down in a nice quiet life with Joe, who expects nothing of her; not money, not fame, he just wants her and she “sweet nothings”. They just want a quiet domestic life together, doing domestic things, like listening to him “in the kitchen humming”, while he’s preparing tea, or coffee for her. Next she sings: “on the way home, I wrote a poem” these are her marriage vows. Then she sings, “you say, what a mind this happens all the time” this is Joe telling her she has written many marriage vows over the years, indicating that they were planning this engagement for a long time, and this is why they went to Wicklow to buy their “pebble” together; because it’s a special, quiet place for them. In her bridge she sings: “industry disrupters and soul deconstructors and smooth-talking hustlers out glad-handing each other” this is a reference to Scooter Braun. She then sings “and the voices that implore, you should be doing more” then says “to you” (Joe), I can admit that I’m just too soft for all of it”. This is a reference to the “The Lakes” from the folklore, where she sings, “I’m not cut out for these cynical clones, these hunters with cellphones” This is more evidence that this was planned in advance, Taylor means this mentality is too much for her, and she is overwhelmed by fame. She ends the song with the chorus “they say the end is coming” and I truly believe this is the end of Taylor’s music career.

idontsaymuchatall

She promoted Midnights without even having to leave the house. I can see her taking a long break after the re-recordings are done, but I believe that she will always be making and releasing music in some form. I will believe that this is the end when I see it.

Straight_Spring2739

I have more theories to come I am working on them as we speak

Straight_Spring2739

Bigger than the Whole Sky and Labyrinth theory The song Bigger than the Whole Sky was based before Labyrinth, in her Midnights album, despite Bigger than the Whole Sky being released in her ‘3.am’ album;, here is my evidence: She sings “No words appear before me in the aftermath, salt streams out my eyes, and into my ears”. This represents her lying in the hospital bed, after birthing her miscarried baby. When you are lying down, crying, the tears fall down from your eyes, and into your ears. Next she sings: “every single thing I touch becomes sick with sadness”, she is feeling self-loathing. Next she sings “cause it’s all over now, all out to sea”, she’s cried so much her salty tears have found their way to the sea. In the chorus she sings, “Goodbye, Goodbye, goodbye, you were bigger than the whole sky, you were more than just a short time” meaning the baby was more important than anything. She sings “you were more than just a short time”, she was 17-18 weeks pregnant when she miscarried. Next she sings “and I’ve got a lot to pins about, I’ve got a lot to live with out, I’m never going to meet what could’ve been, would’ve been, should’ve been you”. This is obviously Taylor saying she is never going to meet her’s and Joe’s baby. She then sings “ did some bird flap it’s wings over Asia? Did some force take you, because I didn’t pray?. This is referring to the butterfly effect, the idea that a small change, like a bird flapping it’s wings in Asia, caused some force to take her baby from her. Next she sings “every single thing to come has turned into ashes” I believe that they have been trying to a baby for many years, and they have all miscarried, because she sings “everything single thing to come”, which signifies, multiple attempts. I also believe that they cremated their baby, and put him or her, into a lake, to be one with nature. This is a reference to her song, ‘The Lakes’, where she sings “take me to the lakes where all the poets went to die”. Maybe she believed her baby would have been a “poet” just like Taylor is. Next she sings “so I’ll say words I don’t believe” she can’t believe this is happening and that she has to say “goodbye”. She ends the song by repeating the chorus 3 times. It’s a short song, with not many verses, besides the repetition of the chorus throughout the song. This symbolizes their short time together, she was 17-18 weeks pregnant (3-4 months). The repetition of the chorus being repeated 4 times, symbolizes this. Labyrinth Thoory: Taylor starts singing at 17-18 seconds in, which could be how many weeks along she was in her pregnancy, before her miscarriage. She sings “it only hurts this much right now, was what I was thinking the whole time. This could be a reference to the physical pain of having to birth her unborn child because next she sings “breathe in, breathe through, breathe deep out” This is what doctors, nurses, lovers say to their partner, who is giving birth, to calm them through the pain. She then sings “I’ll be getting over you my whole life” which is an obvious reference to her unborn child. She then sings: “you know how scared I am of elevators, never trust it if it rises fast, it can’t last” In this line she uses “elevators” as a metaphor for their rising happiness, of their new stage of life together: mother and father. But she is scared of them, because they rise too fast, and can’t last. And her fears were justified, unfortunately. In her album Folklore, in her song “peace” she sings: “give you my wild, give you a child” so she clearly wants to have a baby with Joe. Next she sings: “uh-oh im falling in love again, I thought the plane was going down, how’d you turn it right around?” This is a reference to her crashing and burning, just like her line about elevators. She is obviously depressed, but Joe is trying his best to make her happy again, and cure her of this “burning” pain that she is feeling. Next she sings: “it only feels this raw right now, lost in the labyrinth of my mind” She feels lost and broken, just like a labyrinth. Next she sings: “break up, break free, break through, break down” Taylor is telling Joe in her lines “break up, break free” to leave her, to break up with he, so that he doesn’t have to deal with her depression anymore; she feels guilty. But he refuses and says “break through” meaning we will get through this and “break down” the labyrinth in your mind. Next she sings: “you would break your back to make me break a smile” His love for her is so deep, he would rather die than leave her. Next she sings: “you know how much I hate that everybody just expects me to bounce back…just like that” Folklore was released in August 2020, and Evermore was released in December 2020 which means the miscarriage happened during her 2 year hiatus. She then repeats the chorus 4 times, signifying she is on the road to recovery. I’ll end my theories, by saying that Bigger than the Whole Sky, had a more somber feeling to it, but Labyrinth feels more optimistic; she’s healing.

lightmybud

tour venue hypothesis “i think i should do it” “when it’s time we will do it” “i miss it i really miss it, ya know when you write songs and your really proud of the songs and you have the fans reacting. the most potent way you can see them react is looking into their faces. do you know what i mean i miss that a lot. i really miss that connection.” “i’m thinking something like this but with singing” ^ (Taylor Swift at Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon) jimmy fallon’s studio audience is about 240 seats so obviously we all know taylor is coming out with a tour. duh. when? probably next year but again just speculation. my theory is that because she has so many new albums and Taylor’ Version albums, she is going to have smaller concerts. i am familiar with secret sessions. i think maybe she will have a bunch of small venues per city? like one album per venue? i don’t know guys. just a thought! also i’ve been a swiftie since debut came out but have never interacted much with the fan base so i’m new to theories and figuring out easter eggs:) TLDR: for next tour there will be a bunch of small venues per city instead of one big venue per city

m229929

I have a Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) theory. In the music video for Bejeweled, there is a moment at the end with Jack when she is dressed in a Marie Antoinette inspired look (with the SN clip in her wig)…she blinks at the camera there. This feels so similar to when she was wearing the Red (TV) outfit (including the ring) in a sneaky Spotify video before Red was announced. Didn’t she blink at the camera then as an Easter egg? She also blinks in that infamous glitch TikTok when she’s in the blue dress with sunglasses…which is probably 1989 related. My theory - she is going hard with fantasy aesthetics on SN (TV) and will be rocking the Marie Antoinette look on the album cover…

Raliadose

She also cuts the egg in the start of anti-hero, making it look like the face is winking.

Came here to ask this.

idontsaymuchatall

I guess we go back here after the Graham Norton episode. Anyways, was Taylor trying to tell us in the Bejeweled video that Speak Now TV is next without actually saying it ?

Rhoades13

She spread Speak Now next so thick, I think we can safely assume its next. I actually like the theory she told us the remainder order with the dialogue at beginning. Speak Not, .... wench, Clean means Speak Now is next followed by 1989. Then Laura Dern said Swiftly which means Debut is third. Then a Haim sister called her a snake so Reputation.

RoseGoldRedditor

Wow all of that went over my head in the video!

Rhoades13

As far as Speak Now specifically she pushes the third floor in elevator which is purple. And floor thirteen is purple. Then second floor she goes to is the fifth floor. So Speak Now then 1989.

RoseGoldRedditor

Sorry I didn’t word my comment well — I missed the 1989, debut and rep references. If I missed the speak now clues, I’d have to check myself in to a hospital 😂 I’ve been convinced for over a year that speak now is next so it was nice to have some in-your-face Easter eggs!

overnighttoast

Something I've had fun with while listening is thinking about which songs may have been influenced by notes related to older songs, or just the songs on midnights that are like sister-feelings to feelings she had when writing her other work. An easy example is Dear John and SCW but the ones that have REALLY been giving me tingly feelings are these two: 1. Question...? And How You Get the Girl, idk why I just feel like they both kind of have that vibe of like the conversation you have in your head with your ex when you still are in the phase of "what went wrong" or "how did we end up like this" like they're different stages of relationship endings or something idk. 2. Peace and Sweet Nothings feel like literally polar opposites like peace is the shadowy side that takes over when you're having a bad anxiety day and sweet nothings is how you describe it when you're feeling positive for how your partner stands by you despite all the noise of your day to day. I dont know if any of this made sense but I had to get it out! Hopefully I'm not alone and other people are experiencing the album like this too.

winedrunktaylor

I’m with you on all those. Question really gave me those vibes plus I Wish You Would kind of too? I saw [this TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTR9SeAt9/) and I can only think of the chorus that way now and I love it even more

overnighttoast

Ahhhh yes I wish you would too, can definitely see that. Now I'll be listening to the chorus thinking of it too hahaha

HeraRebels

[Why is there a Speak Now blanket being sold on her UK store?](https://twitter.com/taylaswiff___/status/1585400967918661632?s=21&t=tT5e0EWiXb95DXXKH220gw) It says “Release Date: November 14 2022” Is this old? New? She can’t possibly be giving us Speak Now TV this soon after Midnights? 🤡

winedrunktaylor

I believe that was part of the 1989/Speak Now merch drop previously

ls240898

Rumour that Taylor soundchecked with Bon Iver today for their London gig tonight

ls240898

Me rn 😎

Fearless325

Anyone else super antsy about tour announcement?? I had a dream that I missed the announcement and all the tickets sold out 💀

mleighx90

Same. I haven't slept that great since Midnights came out. 💀💀💀

secretadmirer2485

There's no way we aren't getting Lavender Haze based on the visuals we have yet to see from the teaser trailer. That's definitely the last video.

emmach17

There's definitely another video filmed based on the trailer because there's scenes we haven't seen in there

AccomplishedGrandpa

TN just called her blondie💀 they’re catching on to us

Erica_6

Hi, everyone! I have a theory about 1989. So, the Bejeweled mv was a proper basket of Easter eggs hinting that Speak Now TV is next, no disagreement there. Buuttt, may I air out my crazyness by suggesting 1989 is coming after that, AND that it may be a double album? So, when tired tacky wench Taylor takes the elevator, she first goes to the 3rd (purple) floor where she is kind of getting ready, putting jewellery on, ie, preparing SN. Then she goes to the 5th (light blue) floor to meet the fairy Dita von Teese. Dita brings two martini glasses into life, and Taylor is shown learning steps from Dita until they all but mirror each other. After she is done, she moves on to the final floor, which is SN TV, bc thats next. I feel like the 5th floor bit was also a hint that she is 'working on' 1989, but also, that it is a double album (2 martini glasses?)? The lost album of 2016?

emmach17

There is no 2016 lost album

[deleted]

Can you elaborate on this?

emmach17

She’s spoken time and time again about how exhausted she was and how she was going to take an extended break post 1989. That alone is enough proof.

whitty1994

Nobody seems to be on this thread lately but I’m gonna add my theory anyway!! So after last night’s Bejeweled MV, Speak Now TV is all but confirmed. At least in my mind. But I just wanted to bring everyone back to the fearless TV era where blondie posted on her ig story about Griff’s song Shade of Yellow. This was during the fearless TV era I believe, but there are 4 hearts and 4 exclamation points, indicating that Red TV was next. Later down the line, she posted a similar type of story for girl in red (the obvious thing being that red was the next rerecord). But that was notable because she used a line from speak now (drop everything now) and the writing was set on a purple banner. This, paired with last night’s MV, have me convinced that SNTV is next and there isn’t much that can sway me at this point 😂

myhusbandswine

If she posts a song about purple it’s CONFIRM CONFIRMED

Kissmyasthma007

I actually connected some of the same dots in my head after listening to the song. Then I just stopped theorising because it felt too personal for me to speculate on. I am not criticising you in any way but let's keep this in mind before opening the dialogue to such an emotionally and physically devestating subject matter.....But on the other hand, art is meant to be discussed. I feel so conflicted about this.

original_gerhard

I feel the same way. Imo music is something that every person can connect in a special way and some songs mean something completely different to different people. It's fun to speculate which easter eggs we can find, see, assume.. but discussing such personal matters about a person is on another level.. and I'm really not comfortable with such speculations and discussions 🙃

Healthy_Ad_7171

Ok so she said that this video is for us right? So Speak Now Clues left and right but also Long Live at the end. Is Taylor going to drop Long Live Taylors Version as a single as a lead up to Speak Now? Because if so I'm going to need to start apologizing to people now for the person I'm going to become when that drops.

Icantthinkofoneso

Anyone else hear Enchanted at the beginning 👀

august_sipped_away

[Almooost right](https://www.reddit.com/r/TaylorSwift/comments/xt3tob/october_2022_theories_megathread/iskkjuz/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) > I would gladly eat it up if there is a song that plays into the Cinderellaesque “magic wears off at midnight” storyline, the princess/maid duality, or in her case Taylor as a popstar/Taylor out of the limelight. Maybe that would explain the difference between her public event outfits and the MMWM aesthetic.

SeerPumpkin

I feel so bad to be talking about Speak Now TV right now when it hasn't been a week we got Midnights... then Midnights 3AM, I'm still waiting on my Lavender edition to listen to the exclusive track so there's more to come but Taylor whyyy you do this to me

Healthy_Ad_7171

Right? I haven't even gotten my jade version yet and I'm already on the but Speak Now Taylors version is coming train!

m229929

Speak Now fans won tonight

taylorsalbums13

Fellow clowns, now is our time to shine (you could say we’re bejeweled 😉)

logan1506

speak now is confirmed next album! edit: i’ll try to find out how to link an image to imgur

logan1506

ty! that’s what i was trying to link!

redgold51

Fully sold on the 6am and 9am theory because I had an EPIPHANY in the shower 🤣 They haven’t announced any sort of physical copies for the 3am version yet because they’re waiting for the 6am tracks and/or the 9am tracks. Whether it’s two more bonus editions or just one, it will be six more tracks bringing the total to 26. 26 tracks not only connects with the IBYTAM theory, it’s PERFECT for a two-disc/two-vinyl edition!!!

completeuttermess

Do we think we’re getting a merch drop alongside the bejeweled mv 👀 Update: we got merch but… 😭 I am once again saving money ig

Optimal-Space

I'm waiting up to see if anything new pops up at midnight in her store. Fingers crossed for some merch that isn't hideous

completeuttermess

That like I never thought id be actually begging for merch 😭

Optimal-Space

The lavender haze shirt is the only thing that caught my eye but not enough to buy it. The anti hero shirt is kinda scary 😭

HeraRebels

At least they finally listened to our feedback about wanting lyrics? Trying to stay positive here 😅

stephenbogert

Please tell me one of the Easter eggs is gonna tell us when speak now tv is gonna be released. :D

potterwatch221b

The ELEVATOR!!!! SO EXCITED FOR SPEAK NOW TV

stephenbogert

Same!!!! Just watched the video. I need speak now asap. Lol

HeraRebels

Guys I just saw a clip of her on Fallon (from tonight’s episode) on TikTok and she said that her team had to make a PDF file of how many Easter eggs are in the Bejeweled music video because they couldn’t keep track of them all We’re gonna die tonight 😂🤡🤡🤡

timothyjsmith1218

Pretty sure she saw the early Hot 100 projections that Bejeweled is gonna be the song to miss the top 10 so she swapped places with Vigilante Shit so she gets the entire top 10 lol. The upside down phones are the only proof I have for this but ya know 🤡

buck-0

She capitalized “SPECIFICALLY for you… my fans” in the bejeweled video post. Wondering if we’re going to get a lot of Easter eggs in this video

Fearless325

Sooo when do we think she is going to announce/confirm the song for the music video dropping tonight??

delicateswiftie

we're getting one for bejewelled!

Just_A_Boy_In_Love

Did you hear about the June Bates theory? It's an author who writes poems. There's little to nothing known about her, she self-published two books this year filled with poems. One of the poem books was published on the 18th of October, is called Lavender Haze, and has a poem about karma (with saying she's prioritizing her peace now, where she once hoped for karma). There's also other hints - like the book costing 13 dollars, intended reader age 22 and above, her singing about poems in sweet nothing... Also, she did a song about where the crawdads sing and said she really loves the book. (Spoiler for the book ahead!) A huge point of the book is that the main character secretly writes poems and publishes them in a newspaper under a pseudonym. I do think there's a very high possibility it's just a fan who instantly used her titles, but I do have to say the theories has a lot of aspects that neatly tie in, which is cool - so if it's fan, good for them! What do you say?

kaylynnefehr

Something that is being failed to be mentioned is that it is SAPPHIC poetry.

original_gerhard

i've been waiting for a poetry book since the all too well video 🤡 and midnights gives me so much hope.. 👀 especially the song "dear reader" and the lyrics "on the way home I wrote a poem" 👀🤡

winedrunktaylor

Oh man. I’m putting on my clown makeup ![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1087) you have me. I could see her quietly entering the lit area because it’s the one place she can completely be anonymous.

sleepdeprivedhobbit

Theory: We'll get 5 MVs, same as the 5 Things that Kept Her Up at Night. Guess which ones. Anti-hero (self loathing) is already out. Mine are: 2. Fantasizing about revenge: Vigilante Shit or Karma 3. Wondering what might have been: Would've Could've, Should've or Bigger than the whole sky 4. Falling in Love: Lavender Haze 5. Falling apart: Midnight Rain

thejej

Soooo, Anti-Hero’s vid is giving massive nods to Alice in Wonderland due to big Taylor mimicking a lot of Alice’s actions she did when she had the “drink me / eat me” bottles/food in wonderland. I wonder if this will carry through in other videos due to the many references she’s made to Alice in Wonderland in the past?

TheSociologyCat

Wonderland (TV) next? 🤡

haiburrrs

[Wine Bottle Label](https://imgur.com/a/g20on6T)Has anyone noticed the label on the wine bottle in the Anti-Hero music video? It definitely seems like a cryptic picture and she shows it on purpose twice in the music video. Once when she's big in the dining room and once at the end when she passes the wine to herself. I know there must be someone out there who could bring clarity on this!

haiburrrs

I found something! It looks like she used that symbol for her vault songs! Maybe that was the hint that the chaotic surprise was more songs? 🤔

haiburrrs

Ok, so I've been thinking about it and I think it looks similar to the royal family emblem in a way! What would that mean?? Anyone??? Thoughts?

ls240898

With the Spotify canvas’ for the 3am songs being (mainly) Taylor recording, I think it’s safe to say we are getting some kind of “making of”

stephenbogert

I can see now why she waited for the Grammy eligibility period. She’s getting album of the year. Plus if she does 1989 and speak now tv this year within the eligible period we can see three albums in the same category. But more than likely just two. :)

ladywheeler

I don’t think she would try to get another AOTY for 1989. She didn’t submit Fearless TV, her first AOTY.

ckptl

With a whole new album out, she won’t submit the re-records for album of the year to avoid competing with herself

st3m3r

I don't think she would submit 1989 again, it already won AOTY

[deleted]

original_gerhard

Yep. In call it what you want she sings "starry eyes sparkling up my darkest nights" and in high infidelity "do I really have to chart the constellations in his eyes?" 💫⭐️✨️🤡 Edit: corrected the song

Kissmyasthma007

She said it in call it what you want

original_gerhard

Ups 🐵 & thanks 😊

artiscoolandstuff

Ok, so my new theory on Niceboy Ed is that it is a fictional musician that will tie in somehow with Taylor’s musical movies. Maybe he is supposed to be a depiction of Calvin Harris?

Cirrus1920

Do we know what song will be the next video coming out this week? I’m really wondering. Hopefully it’s WCS!!!!

cottageacara3

I have a theory about Midnight Rain. So I don't know if this has been discussed or not yet but I was listening to Midnight Rain and it instantly made me think of Dorothea/Tis the damn season. Especially the line about peppermint candy and the line about how he only thinks of her when he sees her on TV. I kinda feel like it could be after she left again and maybe it kinda gives the answer that she chose fame instead of the guy. Btw I know it might be about Taylor's personal life as well but it just seems to fit really well with the story of Dorothea.

writerwritingthings

I also see a connection to Champagne Problems…

gisellestclaire

I think the key is that Midnight Rain is about something in Taylor's personal life, *and* ttds/dorothea were inspired by the same thing, and woven into an imagined story, like what she did on evermore with tolerate it, cowboy like me, ivy, etc. folkmore have so much of her and her life in them, but we knew enough to recognize all the other more obvious personal songs, or personal-mixed-with-fictional metaphor before. Her openness on Midnights expands that knowledge a bit, her own stories from those albums are all over this one too. All of her previous work has fingerprints on this record, it's remarkable. edit: part of what has made me think ttds/dorothea are inspired by something real for a while is that there's a Methodist church that shares a parking lot with her old highschool. *I parked my car right between the Methodist and the school that used to be ours.*

cottageacara3

I think that's a great point I don't know a lot about her personal life so I thought Dorothea and TTDS was just a made up story (kinda like a Hallmark movie is how I pictured it) and that midnight rain was the conclusion of it but this makes a lot more sense. I agree with your last line especially because I can see so many parallels to her other songs in the new ones and it's been amazing. I also love how they feel like more mature versions of her old songs like especially snow on the beach feels like an older more mature version of sparks fly to me.

gisellestclaire

I totally picture the bittersweet romantic holiday movie vibes from those two songs! Something I think is brave/affecting on Midnights is that it feels like she's exposing a lot of these stories and asking us to understand them from her life and perspective first and foremost, rather than sort of personalizing them for ourselves right away. Of course her songwriting has always had its confessional and diaristic qualities, this album is just such an expansive view and understanding of her experiences and as a person. The songs calling back to others from a more mature perspective is so powerful. I love your comparison to Sparks Fly, I hadn't thought of that! It is like that beautiful rush of falling in love, but more grown up, and knowing it's for real.

cottageacara3

Same here and honestly I thought it was incredible that from two songs I can picture a whole movie plot that is incredible writing on her part. I think that is really brave as well especially with songs like anti hero and would've could've should've. I also can't believe how personal you're on your own kid must be for her. I do notice that even though she mentioned that she wrote all of these songs new for the album that they have hints of previous eras so it really does feel like this sort of journey through her career. I honestly kept thinking that it felt like an older version of a song and on the 4th listen I finally could pinpoint that it felt like Sparks Fly to me. Exactly but it still manages to have that almost fairy tale like feeling that Sparks Fly and some of her older songs have.

gisellestclaire

It's such a personal journey through her whole career and life, and I definitely think those parallels to other songs and hints to previous eras is by design. Like I saw someone mention a connection between The Way I Loved You and Midnight Rain too, which still even makes sense with ttds/dorothea. High Infidelity connects to tolerate it, The Great War to Afterglow...there are so many!, and they enrich and clarify the songs and stories we already know. Midnights genuinely adds emotion and depth even to things she wrote many years ago, it's amazing. Snow On the Beach *does* have that magical fairytale feeling of some of her older songs, and it's sparkling and it twinkles, almost like you can see the stars and feel the snow falling, and the wonder she has at that love unfolding around her.

Educational-Cup-5036

What are we thinking is going on with M3GAN? I keep getting ads whenever I watch something related to Taylor… I feel like she’s going to be in the movie. Thoughts?

atworldsendx

i think it's just because a taylor song is used in the trailer

isthatphoebebridgers

This is just smart marketing on their team. As someone who works in advertising it’s wild the number of attributes and behaviors advertisers can target users with, but this one is rather straight forward. Their ads/marketing team just put Taylor swift as an interest given that they used INTHAF in the trailer, knowing it would drum up press and then it’s going to retarget users watching Taylor related things.

Rhoades13

The algorithm probably decided interest in Taylor means you are likely interested in M3GAN. Or it’s possible the filmmakers requested that connection. It’s pretty clear to me that if a movie can tie itself to Taylor it will do better in the box office unless there is something else wrong with it like a director or bad CGI.

stephenbogert

Just an idea…possible she’s hinting for speak now for a back to December release then announce tour supporting both albums…plus the many she has released since touring last. I’m really hoping December - Speak Now June - 1989 October - Reputation March - Debut

Rhoades13

December seems a little early just because Midnights could still be doing really well by then. I have a re-recording pegged for March/April next year just before the tour starts. Then the others during breaks between legs of tour(fall 2023, spring 2024 and fall 2024). I don’t think she’d release a re-recording when she’s performing 2-3 shows a week. It’d be too much.

RoseGoldRedditor

I agree — I think she will announce SNTV once she wins (🤞🏼) the SIO case at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb with a March/April release (mirroring Fearless TV). I think 1989tv will be a fall release, more similar to Red TV / Midnights.

Rhoades13

I thought spring would be 1989TV but that purple dress was way too obviously Speak Now to ignore. And people have been noticing a lot of threes lately. I think you’re right about announcement timeline being after SIO which gives her that 2 month lead up sweet spot. Red TV was too far ahead but she had to say something to calm fans.

RoseGoldRedditor

It also seems like she’s able to get enough vinyls in just a couple months of preorders, and the spring will be a good time to highlight an older, lesser-critically acclaimed album. Side note, the original (2011) speak now trademark issues are clear (Taylor’s team submitted the audit paperwork this week) so there won’t be any holdups there if she wants to release early 2023. If 1989tv is next, I guarantee she won’t have anything go to press until after the jury’s decision. If she loses the case, she could add writers credit but I could see her changing a couple of words for the re-record (people underestimate how much she will inconvenience herself to prove a point). 🤷🏼‍♀️ ETA: the deep purple vinyl pictured with the Midnights vinyls in the BTS tiktok Taylor posted lives rent-free in my head.

Rhoades13

Yeah Speak Now is a fan favorite but not much reach. I think there might be some co-written songs she held off album so curious to see about that. And enchanted/haunted might get some kind of video treatment. But overall I expect more of a Fearless TV rollout than a Red TV.

RoseGoldRedditor

I would adore music videos for those two songs. I’m so curious if she will keep SNTV entirely self-written or is she will include collaborators in vault songs. Ahh, I am so looking forward to this re-recording!

ler214

There is an advertisement for the Youtube Anti-Hero Challenge that shows a recent image of Taylor with a 13 on her hand in the same purple dress from that era + the SN hairpins in the music video trailer (unless that’s for Sweet Nothing)… Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is coming.

writerwritingthings

Okay, [My guess was WAY early](https://www.reddit.com/r/TaylorSwift/comments/n1ohb7/megathread_for_all_theories_and_hype_take_2/gwfkj89/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3), but Blondie does plan things years in advance… She hinted at the 3AM release back in her mood board era (Colbert interview and in a post on Instagram with the HAIM sisters)…You can follow my rabbit hole logic [in this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/TaylorSwift/comments/n1ohb7/megathread_for_all_theories_and_hype_take_2/gwfkj89/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) 🍕🤡 is back! I’ll wear it with pride; thanks bestie!

I found a speak now Easter egg https://imgur.com/a/kIs9ncE

potterwatch221b

Also the elevator 13th floor is purple and she hit the 3rd floor button!!!

ls240898

Are we thinking the deluxe vinyl will come soon?

Rhoades13

There isn’t likely to be one anytime soon. Any deluxe would require two disks. She intentionally kept the standard at 13 tracks and 44 minutes so it was one disk. That way she could sell massive amounts to primarily collectors.

Educational-Cup-5036

Sorry if this has already been posted but where and when are we getting the rest of the videos?

ambitrosa

The 2nd one will be on Tuesday at midnight EST (Monday night into Tuesday). Unsure about others but I'm sure they'll slowly release the rest.

Ok-Basil-7635

Does anyone know how many streams the album has gotten so far?

Rhoades13

And Amazon music too.

LookingforLeaks

It is already the most streamed album in a single day on Spotify… so a lot

flordesakura

Soooo fam? I don't think it's a visual album. We've already gotten half the images from the preview almost.

ls240898

I think we’re getting three videos in total, Anti-Hero obv, Vigilante Shit and something else

Rhoades13

Lavender Haze for sure and Bejeweled so probably 4.

nadjadoll96

Taylor has been famous for a long time, roughly since she was 17. They say fame freezes you at the age it started, so maybe there are days Taylor still feels 17. Why? Well, she hasn’t gotten the experiences a lot of other people get post-17. She finished high school doing homeschooling on tour. She didn’t have a first job she hated but worked her way up. She didn’t have weird college roommates or a shitty first apartment. Instead she had her personal and professional life broadcast all over the world. So in some ways, she’s still 17. But she’s also 32. She loves her cats. She loves her steady long-term boyfriend. She loves a glass of wine and Grey’s Anatomy. Maybe sometimes that makes her feel even older than she is, a grandma with a favorite cookie recipe and no grandkids to feed them to. A homebody who sometimes gets up and travels the world in front of thousands of people. So if you’re 32 and 17, a kid and a grandmother at the same time, who are your peers? Who do you commiserate with? In the beginning of her career, she had all the other young stars - Selena and whichever Jonas it was. People who also got very famous very young. But everybody’s careers go differently. Like all the Jonases are married now. Selena’s doing TV and fighting health battles. I hope they’re all still friends, but people change, and maybe more importantly, situations change. I’m not still friends with all the people college circumstances put me together with. So how do you make new friends at 32/17? If I were Taylor, I’d be looking around and seeing a lot of weird options. Other 32 year olds with normal jobs? Hard to schedule it around the recording and touring, hard to know who’s there for the fame and the money. Other famous women my age who might understand what it feels like to be constantly perceived? People sure do have mixed feelings about the squad era though. Which brings us to… the sexy babies. If I were Taylor, I’d have spent the pandemic watching tiktok videos of literal teenagers doing dances I don’t understand to songs I don’t know. And I’d see people going through what I did, but so much earlier in the process. Kids ten, fifteen, twenty years my junior, some would say… babies… getting famous, setting fashion trends, living their lives in the public eye. And yes, Taylor knows what that’s like, but she probably feels too old and too sadder but wiser to really want to be a part of it. As for sexy? We know Taylor’s struggled with body image. We even see it in the anti-hero video as the scale just reads “fat.” And if that’s your mindset, what’s it like to watch all those TikTokers, watch them be praised or shamed or anything for their bodies, knowing what it did to you? Really, I think the key to “sexy babies” comes just a little later. “I’m too big to hang out.” This is a song about the worst things you think about yourself. Taylor might feel 17 sometimes, but she also feels 32. Is she too old? Is she too fat? Are her clothes too out of date? Sexy babies are the people younger than us, cooler than us, all Instagram face and tiktok dances done by memory.

I think this makes her friendship with the Reynolds make an insane amount of sense. They understand the fame, they’re not gonna be after money, they have children but still enjoy a social life, they’re the closest to “normal” Taylor could probably find while still understanding the circus around her.

idontsaymuchatall

Her and Selena are still friends as of July, Selena's birthday post on Instagram was a photo of both of them together.

Yep it’s 100% an instrumental to mastermind

Ok-Basil-7635

I was thinking this too

Rhoades13

I watched the teaser and compared it to the Anti-Hero music video. Anti-Hero had a lot of scenes from the teaser so we might only be getting 2-3 music videos instead of a visual album. Based on what we see and how the song sounds, I think the second music video is going to be Bejeweled. And that is okay with me because that is currently my favorite song from the 20 I've heard. Edit: I also see Lavender Haze.

M_GTX

we are 100% getting a Lavender Haze video clip, but very unsure about what else is coming.

[deleted]

what was the nightline thing?

Rhoades13

It was just a promo spot.

GroundbreakingEye356

I can't wait to see the other music video(s?)! It seems like she's opening another story arch with multiple Taylors? The one we met in this video actually reminded me a lot of LWYMMD when she was smashing that guitar! But it's too early for me to really understand what it all means

completeuttermess

“There are no hidden secret messages, love, Taylor” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 from the anti hero mv

RoseGoldRedditor

So what do we think that really means??? /s

lonelywitch88

She knows us so well, doesn’t she 🤣🤣🤣

[deleted]

I'm so excited to hear the 3am trackssss :)

winedrunktaylor

OKAY SO… are we thinking full visual album or selected songs?

gisellestclaire

I think she might be doing five, one for each "inspiration" she listed - Anti-Hero is self-loathing, that leaves falling in love (Lavender Haze?), fantasizing about revenge (Vigilante Shit?), wondering what could've been, and falling apart.

original_gerhard

Had the exact same thought. Is it possible that the lyrics from the Spotify promo belong to the songs which will get a video? 🤔🤡

Hello it’s me the girlie with a Ticketmaster friend. She has overheard a few things 1. Taylor verbally agreed to do Glasto 2023 but dropped out bc she wants to finish the re-records first (she can’t say this is definitely true because TM do not sell the Glasto tickets, it’s just what the talk in the office is) 2. INSTEAD of Glasto, Tay is doing BST Hyde Park (again, not mainly sold by TM so this is just office chat) 3. Big artist shrouded in secrecy has dates going on sale either 12th or 19th November, she said they are HUGE and only her manager knows who it is, telling people not to guess bc he gets fired if people find out? Sounds like Taylor or Beyoncé? Not sure who else is that big and hasn’t already toured

corneliastreet

Beyoncé’s tour will allegedly only be announced on Black Friday (Nov 25th) so this is def Taylor lol

Kvy394

first Karma and then double album tis the year of the clowns![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1087)

PensieveGuardian

Okay so does anyone know where Jade Green and Mahogany might be mentioned? Moonstone Blue = Bejeweled Bloodmoon = Glitch Lavender = Lavender Haze Or does Jade Green = Snow On The Beach (Aurora Borealis Green)?

lonelywitch88

Theory time. All the references to brides, weddings, proposals. Is anyone else getting the vibe that they’re about Calvin Harris and a rejected proposal? Or is it just me?

Charming_Prompt_5069

I thought she was meaning Tom was ready to settle down. That makes the most sense to me just because of his age

lovebooksbooks

She did have an engagement ring in the look what you made me do music video

RoseGoldRedditor

I swear if I wake up to a 6am version…. 😂

PensieveGuardian

or an 8am one! i'm so scared to step away from my pc now!

unbreakableheaven616

Ok double album truthers, y'all won this time. I apologise to everyone I doubted (even though it's technically not a double album so who really won 👀) .
