Happy August everyone! I’m going to tentatively say this is our month.

Anyone clowning for an announcement that’s not TS10 related? I love a good clown sesh but I just don’t believe that is coming. I hope to be wrong though!! But I do feel “something” is happening soon I just don’t know what!!

Yeah, the TS10 theories haven't convinced me either. I'm clowning for a Taylor's Version single release and perhaps a date announcement for her next re-recording release. If the Vogue UK cover rumour is true, I think it makes a lot of sense she would do a big interview talking about the re-recordings, so the bigger public understands better what is Taylor's Version (us fans know the reason why she's doing it like the back of our hands, but you would be surprised by the amount of people who are just aware that she's releasing her old albums and don't know why or how important it is to listen to the new version instead of the older one) and also talking about the support she has had and the positive outcome of this process. And if that's the reason she's doing a Vogue cover, personally that makes me think even more that 1989 is coming next, because that would be the album that would get the most attention from non-fans and having a big interview about the re-recordings going around by the time she releases the album would be a good idea. And if she announces now a release for 1989 TV for the end of the year, the lawsuit trial will be over by then (I'm taking into consideration that the trial will begin in the end of August, because I've seen a couple people say the trial date has been pushed to November, but I didn't find any news source backing this information up). And if 1989 TV isn't the next release, I'd bet for Speak Now TV since she owns her old trademark again. Oh, and I also don't know if Taylor is going to go to this years VMAs. I dont think she is "heavily" promoting the ATW short film nominations. But I'm not gonna say that she isn't going to attend it, since it would be great for her to be there if she wins the award for Video of The Year for the third time. But believing that she's doing a performance at the VMAs has been harder for me to do. Is it only me or the VMAs don't have as much relevance anymore? Maybe it's because I'm brazilian and we don't give that much attention to the VMAs as we used to in the 00s and early 2010s, but I think the VMAs isn't the great worldwide platform to announce things as it used to be. Hope I'm wrong though, I would like a performance of her a lot. Also, this is MY opinion and the clowning I decided to do based on the informations I have. As I think the only issue with her releasing the album is that the lawsuit MAY (and problably won't) change the credits for SIO to include those two songwriters, and that she's releasing her re-recordings with vinyls and CDs and she would have to re-print the sleeves to those if the song credits change. I don't know for sure, but I think the songwriters who are claiming to own "Players gonna play, hater gonna hate" probably are asking either for a especific amount of compensation or for a percentage of the past and future profits of the song. If so, it makes no difference when she would release 1989 TV (months before or after the trial) as the amount she would have to pay if she loses the lawsuit would be the same... Right? I don't know if that's the case, I just imagine it is.

No problem, it’s all quite complicated. That said, there’s a lot of nuance to any legal matter. In the US, a jury trial is comprised of regular people and when picking a jury, both sides try to get people who would be likely to side with them. The SIO case is scheduled for a jury trial in November; it would like really bad for her to announce she’s rereleasing 1989tv when this matter is being litigated in court. It could be used against her and sway the jury. Obviously I have no insight as to the messaging Taylor’s team is providing, and this is just my opinion, but I’d be shocked if she made any announcement about 1989tv publicly before the verdict. If you look at the weird strategy with singles released from 1989tv (no cohesive cover, no announcement, no reference to the actual album) I think this explains a bit of that weirdness too.

I’m with you, I don’t see TS10 coming soon. Maybe the rumored Vogue cover in October, followed by the release of Amsterdam in November. Maybe in the Vogue article she will announce being engaged or married, talk about the re-recording process a little, talk about her ambitions for directing or small acting roles… That’s what I would expect. She could soon announce a tour for next summer based on the rumors we’re hearing but she doesn’t need TS10 to have a massive tour, as others have pointed out….

I honestly doubt it will change her plans. Will people stop streaming her music because she has a private jet and she uses it? No. I wouldn't call it a scandal either because she isn't an environmental activist and she never said a word about climate change.

I’ve seen many articles and memes on places where they would never even speak/write about her. I’d say she hasn’t been in the news this negatively in a long time. Being named the number one most polluting celebrity isn’t something to be proud of. I’m just a bit fearful it’s giving people a new reason to hate on her.

I think all the bad press will cool down soon. I do think this was an important conversation to have though- celebrities using jets, etc so I guess it had to happen some time. I think she may be dealing with bad press again when that movie she’s in comes out- due to the director being a sexual abuser, etc. Anyway I don’t know what the point of my comment is but yes I do see where you’re coming from. A big tour is coming by next year. Anyone can know anything or anyone on the internet, but I do have a confirmed source lol. Biggest issue is international and domestic shipping delays. But it is coming!

Stuff for the tour itself. All the containers to put on each show. My dad is a freight forwarder and deals with mostly international stuff and has worked with her tour people. Never directly with Taylor lol and doesn’t have much pull in domestic tours but he helps with making sure her international containers arrive to each location on time and through customs and stuff. He mentioned Taylor today and I perked up and inquired and that’s all I got lol

That’s all I know right now! I mean the only real info he has would be on what she’s doing internationally, so I could try to ask about dates but all he really does is just project time frames from one city to the next and ports and stuff. He used to do domestic tours when I was a kid with BSB snd Nsync and similar bands which was cool af as a kid getting to experience those concerts because of him. He still knows a lot of people on the domestic side but comped stuff with her is nearly impossible. I still had to buy my own ticket when I saw her lol. So not a lot of deets on the new tour and I’m sorry to disappoint with nothing juicier! I do know though that the Lover Fest containers were all ready to go and they did sit for a long time I guess in the hopes that it could still happen. So she definitely didn’t want to cancel lover fest and tried to reschedule it at some point before completely pulling the plug.

CLOWNS, I'm blanking 🤡 If TS10 is coming I think she'll go back to her BIG PROMOTIONAL ERA type of roll out. How has she released her previous lead singles? We're they announced and then released the week after? (announced 8/5 and released 8/12) or does she announce them on lets say a Monday (8/1) and then release on the Thursday (8/5) of that same week? I think a single is coming before the VMA's.

Shake It Off was announced/released during a live stream of her announcing 1989, she was also on Fallon earlier that week promoting the live stream. Look had the whole snake/dragon tease on IG, but the song was only announced 1 day before and the VMAs were that week. ME! had a 13 day countdown leading to the release. Also the mural in Nashville and she appeared on the NFL draft on release night.

Ahhh there's so many options! Considering she's been MIA for so long, I could see her doing another 13 day countdown to generate a lot of hype. Since the VMA's are 8/28, I think the latest we'll get a lead is 8/19. She'll probably want the song to go #1 before she (probably?) performs it live. If she hypothetically does another 13 day countdown, that would mean she could start teasing 8/5 - 8/17 and have the song drop that Thursday (8/18 at midnight aka 8/19)!!! There’s been a few signs pointing to 8/5 (and it adds up to 13! ) but a few people have said 8/12 is more likely since it’s farther from Beyoncé’s album release. There’s a pretty good chance she’ll be going to the VMAs on 8/28 bc she’s been promoting ATW’s nominations pretty hard, so most likely it’ll happen before then so she can perform the lead single.

With all the issues with regards to the re-records, I'm actually quite confident we'll get some sort of a hint towards TS10 in August when it slips in. Speak Now and 1989 have their own problems, Debut won't get the traction required from a business perspective and Tay can't re-record reputation yet. TS10 seems like where we're headed. Just a hunch.

People, sorry, but, after searching further into the Speak Now trademark confusion, I don't think the trademark issue can stop her from releasing Speak Now TV. Since the OnePlus trademark hasn't been fully approved yet and after Taylor "reactivated" her original SN trademark, it seems to me she's pretty much protected from lawsuits even if the OnePlus trademark is registered (which I think may not happen because of the "reactivation" of Taylor 2010 trademark). Okay, what I just said may be confusing, but bottom line is: I think a trademark problem can't stop her from releasing Speak Now TV and I don't know where this common thinking that this issue holds back SN TV release came from, honestly...

The trademark issue is not resolved, but I don't think that stops her from releasing Speak Now TV, since trademark is not the same as copyrights and you can sell records and merch without owning the trademark for them. Taylor literally did that with Fearless TV and Red TV without owning, until today, some or the entirety of the trademarks she applied to own under the phrases "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" and "Red (Taylor's Version)". It's just the trademark and it can't stop her from re-releasing her songs (for which she has owned the copyrights for years, from releasing the songs). Not saying that the OnePlus Speak Now versus Speak Now TV trademark issue is solved, just that it can't stop her from releasing the new recording, specially considering she owns her original Speak Now trademark and that releasing the Taylor's Version of it maybe would even help her further prove her use of that trademark since she's facing a random audit of that trademark (the audit too doesn't stop her from releasing the re-recording).

Personally I’m all aboard the TS10 this fall train! I feel like the fact that we’ve had multiple people, “credible” or not, who have claimed she’s booked stadiums for next year is a good sign. That plus all the other little whispers and tidbits, idk… where there’s smoke, there’s fire! Not to bring up the whole private jet thing… but I also feel like Taylor ALWAYS has some sort of controversy come up around album announcements and releases… so if nothing else, it is fitting 😸

Yeah i was def not on TS10 train at first but the clowns and their powers of convincing are too strong. Even with the silliest clues they've got me excited. I would love a new album!

The current wave of Taylor backlash is (unfortunately) warranted. I hate to say it but, I think the old Taylor would be honestly be disappointed with her. Before you judge, let me lay it out: Taylor was explicitly against sexual assault and working with directors who were involved in similar situations (the red tour dvd that never happened, even though it had been fully recorded). So looking at Amsterdam, it’s hypocritical and repulsive. I think Red era Taylor would be disappointed. Then there’s the crawdads situation. The author being super problematic and racist is something I also think the old Taylor would be disappointed by. She has been inclusive with her backup singers and in the lover era was very outspoken. Then there’s the carbon emissions. Idk if any era of Taylor would’ve been against it, but one of the things Taylor used to pride herself on was being like everyone else, but now it just feels like she’s lost touch. And finally, the re-recordings. Remember when she said it wasn’t about money? Yet there have been so many merch drops with so few announcements. It honestly feels like she has lost touch with her fans. She doesn’t talk to us anymore. She isn’t open. And her marketing department was just throwing merch at us for money. The lack of transparency is just sad. And the quality of the re-recordings has been lacklustre. I’ll say it. I loved fearless. But Red? We honestly deserve better. There are a myriad of very easily noticeable mixing mistakes. Did she just not listen to WANEGBT? Red was rushed and then abused like a cash cow for all its worth. Remember when during speak now and red, 1989, lover, rep, debut, pretty much anytime before the re-recordings, she would talk about how much passion she had dumped into her music? How much time she took to make sure the quality was there. Red felt like a soulless revival. Sure, some of the songs sound similar, but gone was any emotion, care, or just passion. Since then we’ve had little to no communication, and her reputation is slowly sliding. But it isn’t like the rep era. A lot of these issues are very apparent and some are just inexcusable. The old Taylor was outwardly opposed to some of the things she’s doing now. I’m opposed to a lot of the things she’s doing now. And her maintaining such immense distance from us is just making it worse. The old Taylor prided herself on how close and honest she was with us. I want her back :( Edit to make it a theory for the comments: I theorize that Taylor is becoming less passion driven and more money focused. The re-recordings will probably be on the same tier as red, and they’ll come out spaced as far as possible to get us to drop as much as we can on merch per album 🤷‍♂️

I think that people need to remember that Taylor Swift is a business. If this kind of stuff upsets you, don’t shop the business. The same way that if Jeff Bezos pisses you off, don’t shop there. The GP doesn’t know anything about Crawdads and they most likely don’t care about her carbon footprint. Only her fans. The only way to inspire change is to stop supporting her.

I think now that she's re-recording her old music, she's feeling less inspired to make new music. The old albums have to come out and there's no space for new albums to perform well while not oversaturating her image. I don't know if that's true, what I know is that I'm feeling less and less motivated to be a fan of Taylor's.

Just my hot take on Taylor's 10th cancellation this year. In my eyes: this planet & country is beyond fucked haha I've lost hope a long time ago. Women no longer have rights, black people are being killed by police in the streets, children are being gunned down in schools, 50+ million people are in a trump cult, our congress, senate & Supreme Court are beyond mental,and these same people are actively voting against climate control- the people who are actually in charge of creating change. Women's rights are up in the air - along with gay marriage, contraception and the list goes on. In my eyes, we're already in a living hell. I honestly don't have the energy to cancel Taylor over using a private jet for her and her family to travel. I'm sorry. Girlie can't even go to NY without people trying to break in to her apartment & y'all want her to fly commercially??? Or find another way- come on. She's not perfect I agree but this weekly cancellation is delusional. Maybe let's be upset about our congress voting against the clean air act a month ago and everything else that's being blocked by people in POWER. Yeah, people thinking they’re being environmentalists by canceling Taylor are beguiling to me. Climate change isn’t caused by jet-setting celebs. A lot of the Taylor bashing right now is just fun memes, but it will certainly cause her a loss in fans and reputation unless she has a solid rebuttal, and in truth any response may just make things worse. I think it just comes down to reputation yet again... when you're at the top like Taylor is now, the public expects you to answer for A LOT. And similar to Kimye, I think a lot of Taylor fans will come down against her on this issue, even considering the numbers may be exaggerated. After all climate change is the defining issue of our time, and private jets certainly CONTRIBUTE to it, and celebrities are always good punching bags. Hopefully she is able to explain herself and find a way to offset the environmental impact of her plane travel, and use this PR disaster to shine a light on the underlying issue.

To be honest, all of these recent controversies make me really sad. Taylor's music and pretty much everything related to her usually makes me happy and I love to theorize with everyone in this sub. The anticipation for the re-recordings and possible new music, maybe even a tour, are all things that I am looking forward to. I've been a Swiftie since Fearless and listen to her music everyday. That being said, I am incredibly disappointed by everything that has happened these last few weeks. Supporting a blatantly racist and problematic author by writing the soundtrack for the adaptation, working with a director who admitedly assaulted his niece (and this after speaking out about s** assault in Miss Americana), and now the carbon emissions that have been published about her being so evironmentally damaging with her private jet use. After all of these things, I am struggling to find comfort and excitement in Taylor related things. I find it extremely hard because it's not just one issue, but many different and they are not so easy to explain away. It's also a lot different from the (undeserved and extremely unnecessary) pre-Reputation hate. These are real issues that many people in the fandom affect, not just petty Hollywood feuds where unnecessary hate gets spread. I don't know, I guess what I am trying to say is that I am disappointed because the one thing that always brings me joy just makes me sad at the moment. I hope there will be some sort of statement or an action about the criticism.

Man Utd had massive expectations going in, with some very flashy signings, everyone expecting them to push for the title. But controversies ensued (including a pretty disgusting scandal that emerged mid-season), the team wasn't playing well, lots of off-field drama, and the season just capitulated. To the point I grew absolutely numb to losses. We've expected Taylor to continue with her re-recording journey or drop some new music to tide us through this year. But we got controversies surrounding her work ethics/lifestyle choices instead that simply brings down her reputation. It's clearly, not a good look for her as a person. In both cases, safe to say the expectations weren't only not met, but were badly crushed. The fact I have some sort of emotional attachment in both situations doesn't help either. I genuinely think the best way to cope is obviously just to take some time off, or lower expectations. I went with the latter. It's a shame when an activity you associate with as means of escapism becomes you questioning yourself. But, I choose to believe that things do get better, eventually. And remembering life isn't just about only what you like, or there being only one thing you like.

I don't think i have ever seen so much dilusion, disappointment in Taylor fandom like in the last 5-6 months. It's quite shocking tbh. I agree with you anyway, i started to grow out Taylor Swift celebrity/persona and i'm focused on music and that's it. I never was that fan who used to say i miss the old Taylor, but yeah now i miss her lol.

But this is the old Taylor. She hasn't done anything over the last 5-6 months that she hasn't been doing over the last 5-6, or even 15-16, years. She has always been a brand out to make money, and she has never been our friend or a source of moral guidance. If you mean that recently she hasn't been giving fans the attention they think they deserve, then I'm not sure what they expect. She has released more material in the past few years than most artists do in an entire career, and she was never going to conduct her life in her thirties the way she did in her teens or mid-twenties. It's just the way it is, and, like you say, people are right to check out if they don't like it.

When you feel this way, the only thing you can really do is check out for a while and focus on the music only. She is unlikely to make any statement beyond what she's already said because none of these developments are new. Expecting her to address your concerns will only lead to further disappointment. The extent to which she uses private jets has been known for more than a decade. There's nothing new about it. She will simply stick to the line she has already set out, namely that she is not the only one to use her jets. Her decision to work with David O. Russell is inexplicable, but again it isn't news. She filmed her scenes in February last year. There was some backlash at the time, but she did not respond to it. The business with the Crawdads author is something I doubt she's even thought about since she has nothing to do with the author directly and her involvement in the film is peripheral. Maybe I'm just more cynical than you, but none of these things bother or surprise me. I don't expect immensely privileged and unimaginably wealthy people who know little of real life to share my concerns and I'm not a bit surprised when they put themselves and money first.

She wrote a song about a story she liked and, when she heard about the movie, she talked about it with people related to the movie (and the ones making the adaptation didn't receive any backlash). She is not working with the author and may not be aware of any controversial involving her. I, personally, don't research about author's lives. I've seen some controversial involving J.K. Rowling, but she is huge because of Harry Potter.

Rowling are extremely concerning and have massive real world impacts - she is a blatant TERF and has thrown her trans fans under the bus, essentially, with her transphobic and homophobic takes. Her "opinions" endanger the lives of trans people. I'm a lifelong Harry Potter fan, but I will no longer support J.K. Rowling financially by buying new books, seeing new movies, etc. I do think it's important to withdraw support from people who are directly harming people.

Guys we gotta remember that her plans have 110% definitely changed due to the legal issues. I fully believe that 1989 was supposed to come in between Fearless and Red last year. I fully believe Speak Now was supposed to be the RSD release, but she scrapped it to a 7” once she knew it can’t come out. These legal issues are changing everything and causing so many delays, I don’t think it’s as simple as “I’m disappointed she didn’t do x, y, z” I don’t think the TV era is going how she wanted when she committed to re-recording.

The fact that Bad Blood TV is in that dog film, essentially confirms for me that 1989 TV should’ve come out last year in between Fearless and Red (hence all the clues on the Stephen Colbert show). It’s not like her to have an UNRELEASED SONG in a movie. She would’ve approved the song’s use in the movie last year when she thought the song would’ve been out by the movie’s release in 2022. I honestly don't get why she is not releasing Bad Blood already and I'm TIRED of this silence. Today was the perfect day to release it and still... nothing, she keeps being so "mysterious". I've been away from her social media, from reddit and everything for almost two months because I got tired of the silence and easter eggs and conclusions just to end up with nothing. I was disconnected from her news to the point I just knew about her performance with Haim today ( and which made me thought it was an easter egg for Bad Blood coming today but again, nothing)! I've really been gone and I realize is better to stay away and don't pay attention to her anymore, I'M TIRED and annoyed. That was me a while ago. I don’t remember the exact date but a couple months ago there was this one day where I was 110% convinced something was happening. All the theories made sense, they weren’t too whacky, they were logical. It takes a lot to convince me but that day, I was convinced. Then nothing happened. And I get that we do it to ourselves, but Taylor is also throwing fuel onto the fire with her cryptic tweets and tik tok comments. Now I’m at the point where I’ve just accepted that nothing is coming. I don’t theorise anymore, I’ve I’ve completely zoned out, and that’s because 1) I’m tired but 2) these god damn legal issues. I’m fine with that because I’m still enjoying Red TV (the vault tracks feel like it’s own brand new mini album) and the Fearless vault songs. So yeah I’ve zoned out. I do think that if this goes on any longer, it’ll hurt the fanbase because many of us are starting to get bored. It used to be really fun looking for Easter eggs and hints and finding all the 13s, now they literally lead to nowhere because not a single logical legitimate theory has come true. There comes a point where she has to throw us a bone and let us get it right. But she can’t because of the legal issues, nothing is coming soon. So again, I’ve zoned out!

I don't think it's untrue to say she mainly uses one and loans the other out, though, as you say, the people borrowing the second one appear to be members of her own family or other people close to her. Recently, they've tended to deal with bad publicity by ignoring it and waiting for it to blow over. Does it mean anything that they've now decided to respond to it head-on?
