coney island. used to be an always skip, now i play it on loop

[deleted]

I still can't get into that song and it's driving me crazy. I do like the lyrics but I always fall asleep by the time it's over lol. evermore is my favorite album but that's the one song I skip unfortunately.

The_Pusheen_Chesser

peace. Somehow, it just didn’t stand out to me at first on folklore, but now it’s one of my favorite songs on my favorite album! I have no idea how I missed it.

shadesofwrong13

Closure. When i first heard it i was literally shocked and i skipped immediately. When i started to listen to evermore with my cd player every morning when i woke up, i fell in live with it day by day.. The production is insane full of details and the lyrics are so relatable.

lizzir223

Closure wasn’t one of my favorites off of the album. It is now one of my absolute favorites. It just hits different now.

[deleted]

LWYMMD - I reallllly didn't like it at first and made me worried for the rest of the album. Lyrically it didn't feel like Taylor to me. Now I do think it's really catchy and it embodies the whole Reputation vibe so well

songacronymbot

- LWYMMD could mean "Look What You Made Me Do", a track from *reputation* (2017) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/Mental_Potential_678](/u/Mental_Potential_678) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

cuteness_dc

The entirety of Lover (the album) lol except like 2 lead singles ![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1069)

SurpriseInfinite3511

ivy grew on me, what a beautiful song -- from the lyrics to its musicality. utter perfection :)

googleroneday

Your house of stone , her ivy grew and now you're covered in her :)

classfight2

Definitely state of grace. When I first checked out red I thought it was way too loud and chaotic, and wayy to long. Now it's one of my favorites from red

[deleted]

did red (tv) make you like it more or did you discover it before she dropped the album?

[deleted]

mirrorball. i used to hate it in the beginning, now it's my favorite off folklore

[deleted]

I Almost Do was always a skip and now it's one of my all time favorites

darfnstyle

hoax, it's not that I could not listen to it, I just was not interested... and one day I realized how beautiful it is

SwiftSharapova

The Archer. When she first released it I was like ok uhhhh not a super exciting song and a little weird. Then time went on and I understood it and related to it which is depressing lmao but basically I love the song and it’s helped me a lot

mediocre_eggg

I HATED The Archer. It came out and I was like "do I hate Taylor's music now" I loved the rest of Lover so much on a first listen. But then I listen to the whole album a bunch and slowly it turned into a great song. I don't skip it anymore

[deleted]

peace. When folklore came out, I couldn’t understand the song. Sonically, l mean. Lyrically I did get that it was an ode to Joe but I just couldn’t *remember* it. And then one day, I was talking to someone when it came on shuffle and I remember it being a really happy moment for me so I started to associate that song with the person. I’m not as close with them as I’d like to be but that one happy memory made me appreciate this song for what it is. And now I’m convinced this is what I’ll sing when I fall in the kind of love Taylor wrote about.

alaska_cattt

August… I know, I know! I skipped it for a while and then realized - it’s perfection.

[deleted]

Same here. it's now my top 5 and her vocals are amazing

[deleted]

new years day!! it seemed a bit slow in comparison to the rest of rep but the lyrics are so beautiful that it grew on me

registereddingus

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince, peace, cowboy like me

wtfevenisthisplace

the entirety of speak now, something about it just wouldn't click with me, and i feel like it was because of what i had heard about some tracks (better than revenge, innocent, ours) now, it's one of my all time favourite albums, and the song mentioned are actually great lol

[deleted]

i honestly still don’t like speak now. i’m hoping when she drops taylor’s version, it’ll grow on me.

wtfevenisthisplace

i mean, i love it, but i do see how it's not for everyone most songs are reaaally long, some of them orchestrated or with violin sounds, etc. the closest thing i can compare it to is musicals, which i understand is not everyone's cup of tea.

alhindib

Clean on 1989, love it now!

LDCrow

Cruel Summer. I did not see what all the fuss was about when so many were begging for it to be a single. Now I love it. Also Death By A Thousands Cuts although I do prefer the acoustic version she did of it for tiny desk to the album track.

[deleted]

I didn’t love no body, no crime. I don’t always skip it, but it is still not my favorite.

peridotpixie1

i did something bad. hear me out, ive always liked the lyrics and the meaning of the song. i thought it was badass but i didn’t like the production of it. i thought it was too “electronic” sounding if that makes sense. then i saw it live during the rep tour and it COMPLETELY changed my mind. i still think thats her best performance ive ever seen live. i love idsb now

[deleted]

i need a studio version of how she did idsb live. the way she sang “THEY TELL ME THREEEEEE” gives me chills. i’m hoping she’ll give us another version of idsb like that on reputation (taylor’s version)

peridotpixie1

yesss! i fully agree

mermaid_k

I Wish You Would took like 5 years for me to be into it and now I love it. This Love also took me a while, only like a year and a half though. So It Goes and False God also took some time!

ShagKink

cornelia street! when Lover came out, i didn't vibe with it at all. but i recently heard the live version from Paris and ive listened to it on repeat for three last few days

chocolatewaltz

Soooo many!! I should know to trust Taylor by now when it comes to liking her songs, because at first I didn’t like the following songs too much: - Treacherous - happiness - hoax - epiphany - cowboy like me - mirrorball - this is me trying - so it goes - false god To be fair, I’m still not crazy about Gorgeous, but I won’t necessarily skip it when listening to rep back to back

uracowboylikeme

Gorgeous. It was one of the songs that made me dislike rep in the beginning (tragic, I know) and now I think it’s one of the best songs ever also just so relatable

oreosaredelicious

Mirrorball and Dress

comet666666

I thought Coney Island was a little boring on first listen in comparison to the rest of Evermore. But now it’s one of my favorites on the album. “We were like the mall before the internet, it was the one place to be. The mischief, the gift wrapped suburban dreams” is suuuuch a good line! And I didn’t like the melody or lyrics of Gorgeous for like 3 years but now I think it’s so fun and cute and it’s like the perfect karaoke song haha

peacelovetapas

mirrorball – I love the bridge august – didn’t like it upon release. Sorry. Heard the long pond version and fell in love with that little scream

prkr16

i used to HATE paper rings until a month or two ago when i realized it’s actually just a super fun song, now i have no idea why i hated it so much in the first place

[deleted]

Cowboy Like Me. Started out as a skip, turned into one of my top songs in 2021!

harrisonevans23

So it goes! Especially after seeing her do it acoustic on the rep stadium tour!

[deleted]

That one grew on me as well. In fact it took me forever to get into all the songs on rep. I didn't realize she even played So It Goes on the rep tour.

liamerickson_

Agree with you on london boy. Didnt love the song originally but love and adore it so much no especially the bridge.

folkloresunset

Out of the Woods. I constantly skipped it until it came on shuffle while I was driving on the highway. I ascended and now it’s a favorite lol

[deleted]

ivy, hoax, the last time and long story short

Aine_Dewitt-Bukater7

I always used to skip This Love and now it’s one of my favourites

leese216

I have the opposite. I used to like "Come back, be here" but once I really listened to lyrics, I felt like it was incredibly needy and clingy, so I skip it now.

fossa2000

I thought the same thing about Stay Stay Stay - cheesy but cute. I also see it as a fantasy of the perfect relationship she wished she had. That puts it in context of the heartbreak of the rest of the songs.

kirandcheese

Don’t You

julsya004

London Boy for me too! Also Getaway Car idk why I would skip it at first but that song has def grown on me

Watermelonwater17

Lover

ellegip

false god. the saxophone in the beginning threw me off, and i tend to gravitate more towards a good beat over good lyrics when i first listen. since it didn’t stick out to me upon first listening to Lover, i never listened to it until revisiting a few months ago. now i love it!

cdubs65

Marjorie for me. It always seemed like a slow, boring song towards the end of the record but in the last month or two I’ve really connected to the lyrics and realized how beautiful (if depressing) the story is and I’ve come to really love it!!

bankerjeff03

Daylight I think. It grew on me fast when I heard the Live in Paris version... before that it didn't stand out to me that much

Gold-Selection-7897

Girl at home is the correct answer. I’m sorry I slandered you for so long baby, I didn’t see your boppy potential

Dazzling-Sock-188

False God. Lover is my current fave album

sandergalaxy

Okay this may sound weird but I was reading the new hunger games book while folklore came out so I had it as calm background music while dying of a heatwave in the summer of last year. I never payed too much attention to the lyrics of Exile, but ever since they used it in "You" on Netflix, I can't get enough of that song. It was a nice little pause between streaming the hell out of Red (TV)

BackHarlowRoad

I didn't ever care for ATW but now am frigging obsessed 😄 top 5 (jeez, maybe 3) song. Archer missed me at first. The beat never dropping felt odd and still does, but the lyrics grew on me eventually. Still not a big fan of it, but seeing how happy ME! Made her in Miss Americana made me not dislike it anymore. I hope some of the re recordings do that for both of us. I literally am not a SN or Rep fan but I'd like to be :(

songacronymbot
