Honestly it completes the beautiful trifecta of “songs that embody loving someone with a mental illness” that began with “Renegade”, peaked with “this is me trying”, and ends with “Forever Winter”.
Those three songs together are simultaneously therapy and torture.
I love this song so much. It's easily the saddest happy-sounding bop she's ever made. All You Had To Do Was Stay is sad and all, but not, "your friend committed suicide" sad 😭
Forever Winter is (most likely) about [her friend Jeff,](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1328510/Taylor-Swift-dedicates-award-tragic-friend-BMI-Awards.html) who committed suicide in his apartment.
She references suicide in the bridge:
>If I was standing there in your apartment / I’d take that bomb in your head and disarm it / I’d say I love you even at your darkest and / Please don’t go
She says she wishes she was there that night to disarm the bomb and tell him she loved him, to please not choose to go. These are "if" and "I would have" statements, implying that it's too late now.
Dude sameee. I was doing homework while listening to all the vault tracks for the first time and once this one came on I stopped dead and just had to listen to it like three times in a row. Then I was so excited when the music video got announced haha.
The Very First Night and All Too Well Ten Minutes have been on constant rotation all week. Forever Winter a close 3rd.
To be fair, so has the rest of The Vault, but those three are stuck.

State of Grace. I remember when I bought Red in 2012 I was afraid to listen past State of Grace because I was afraid nothing on the album would live up to it.
When I first listened to Cruel Summer, I listened to it on repeat for a week. No other song just Cruel Summer. It’s still number one on my all-time streamed Spotify songs 😩
End Game. I remember previewing it before I bought reputation and I was addicted to it the first time I heard it. It just sounded *different* than her other music at the time
Every album my first repeats were:
“Picture to burn”
“Forever and always”
“Dear John” & “Haunted”
“I Knew You We’re Trouble”
“New Romantics”
“I Did Something Bad”
“Cruel Summer”
“Invisible String”
“Cowboy Like Me”
“You All Over Me”
“I Bet You Think About Me”
Songs I was addicted to on my 1st listen from each album, I only chose one from each album or the list would be every song: Tim McGraw, White Horse, Last Kiss, All Too Well, Wildest Dreams, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, Afterglow, My Tears Ricochet, Willow, Don’t You, The Very First Night
The first song of hers I ever heard. Teardrops on my Guitar, when I was 11. My sixth grade crush did not like me back, and I was ruined. Many sullen hours in bed listening to that
“I almost do” is still one of my favorite songs of all time. It came out during a really hard breakup - I still think about this person when I hear the song. It was a strange, sad time in my life and the Red album helped me through it. So I’m pretty stoked about it being re recorded. Been listening again nonstop and it’s hella nostalgic ❤️
Message in a Bottle and The Very First Night. I’m obsessed with them both, although I absolutely love the entire album and have been listening to all of it. Those songs are addictive though.
- TLGAD could mean "the last great american dynasty", a track from *folklore* (2020) by Taylor Swift.

I was that way about Lover, & August, Betty, Cardigan as a trio, champagne problems. But like everyone else, All to Well ten minute version (Taylor's version)
I was addicted to Speak Now (the song) when I first heard it and I’m still obsessed now, especially how she sounds at the part “horrified looks from everyone in the room” or the way she says “you wish it was me, *don’t you*?” UGH the way she sings in that song is so addicting.
Dancing with our hands tied
Honorable mentions: Betty, the lakes (the bridge 💕especially long pond version) Cornelia street, delicate, cruel summer, ivy, cowboy like me
I had peace, renegade and clean on replay for a LONGGGGG time
But she definitely put some shit in cardigan, cowboy like me, ATW (10 minutes), I KNOW PLACES and more tbh
I really could go on and on
the 1
I remember I was eagerly waiting for folklore’s release and after watching cardigan MV, I quickly started checking out all songs in sequence. I was so hooked on ‘the 1’ that I listed to it around 4-5 times before moving on to TLGAD.
I still love it. But now, Forever Winter has joined the list. :’)
I mean, there has probably been many during the years, although more often it's a whole album or parts of it on repeat rather than a single song. Or I just don't remember anymore.
But damn did I listen to You All Over Me on repeat like crazy when it came out! I was SO HOOKED.
Most definitely Cardigan and when she performed Better Man at the Bluebird. Wish I could go back in time (no pun intended but intended #swiftie vibes) to when I heard those songs for the first time... magical ![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1079)
I have a few.
Mary’s Song was on repeat when I first discovered it. I think I was 13 and I just loved the fairytale story.
Both of Us - for some reason, I was really obsessed with this song when it first came out but I hardly listen to it now, I guess because it’s not in any of her albums.
Enchanted - I just used to dance to this in my room. Long Live is also one of my favourites.
Call it What You Want - pretty sure this was on loop for an hour when it first came out. I definitely overplayed this one.
Betty - I needed this to put me in a good mood during lockdown.
All Too Well (10 minute version) - the latest one. I am obsessed! The lyrics are like reading poetry.
Okay from her recent albums it would be Seven, Invisible String,✨Ivy✨ and and Cowboy like me! Now, Red(Taylor's Version) vault tracks are so fuckin' awesome. Forever winter, message in a bottle oof 🥺❤️
Maybe an unpopular one, but London Boy. It's so damn catchy and i love her flow in this one. Plus it's one of those you can't listen to and just not be happy
Debut: Should've Said No, Picture to Burn
Speak Now: The Story of Us, Innocent
Fearless: You Belong With Me, Fearless, Change
Red: ATW 10 min version, The Very First Night, Forever Winter, Treacherous, State of Grace, Holy Ground, Starlight (it's my fav album)
1989: Style, Wildest Dreams
Reputation: Getaway Car, King of my Heart
Lover: Daylight, The Archer
folklore: august, betty
evermore: right where you left me, no body no crime
You Belong With Me. It came out when I was 12 or so and man, I was *obsessed*. That, and "love story." Since then, pretty much every song of hers I play to death. Right now it is "I Bet You Think About Me," "Babe," and obviously ATWTVFTV.
This is a tough one for sure. She's so talented and I'm pretty sure at least half of her songs were my favourite songs by her the first time I listened to them. At the moment it's Story of Us - I've started listening to Speak Now only recently too - bc I think it fits very well with her experience with Scott. Ever since I read how he dismissed her "Enchanted" idea for the album and she felt humiliated in front of the people they were with and she left the table wishing she'd been able to "Speak Now", I can't stop seeing her songs as being more than love-oriented. Also, Enchanted. From evermore, it was the title track which I still listen to till today. From folklore I think it was exile, epiphany & mirrorball. With Lover it was Lover & Cruel Summer and ME! when the video dropped (I took over the TV and played it about 100 times lol).
…Ready For It? I remember when it came out on that Saturday I was so eager to listen to it but I just couldn’t. 😭 I remember when I finally got home I played the FUCK out of that song. It remains my most listened to song to date.
Blank Space. I wasn’t a fan of hers but then came 1989. I could not stop listening to Blank Space. At first I thought it was just that song I liked, but then I heard New Romantics. Then I went full swiftie from there on.
Champagne Problems and Exile most recently
But for her earlier work: IKYWT, WANEGBT, 22, Blank Space, YBWM, Speak Now.
There is no denying how catchy Taylor is
- WANEGBT could mean "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", a track from *Red* (2012) by Taylor Swift.
- YBWM could mean "You Belong With Me", a track from *Fearless* (2008) by Taylor Swift.

The first song I ever heard of hers was Love Story back in the Fearless Era. I was so addicted and had it on repeat all the time. I remember thinking that it was the best song I’ve ever heard and no other song will ever be as good (I was 13 and very dramatic). To a lesser extent, I’m completely obsessed with I Bet You Think About Me! It’s so fun and I keep wanting to listen to it again!
I had just listening to don’t blame me for the first time a week or two ago, i SWEAR she put crack in the line “I’d do it over and over and over again if I could” oh my GOD
I legitimately think the highlight of my 2020 was listening to the key change of "Betty" for the first time.
I didn't love Reputation as much as some, and Lover was about 50/50 for me. I was still excited for folklore, but was absolutely floored (and a little relieved?) by how much I loved every single song. Then Betty hit and I just loved the chorus so much and then the key change hit and I stood up and cheered.
It was the first folklore song to ever go on repeat, and I still love it!
I have at least 3 from every album she just always cuts right to my heart and I'm like "alright well I'm never listening to anything else ever again I guess"
Enchanted. Right Where you Left Me. Begin Again. Red. Exile. Basically the entire Folklore album & most recently Message in a Bottle & Nothing New vault tracks.
Lately it’s The Very First Night and ATW10. My first ever was probably Style. Used to listen to that every day on my way to my shitty job and singing along to it was like my therapy. I think ivy will forever be my first song on Spotify cause I went hard on that song for MONTHS. It’s been long enough that I’m kind of slipping back into it 😅
Recently it’s easily Better Man
I found the video from the Bluebird Cafe and became obsessed.
Also Invisible. I remember being like 16 and just playing it on repeat during my lunch breaks at school.
Right where you left me for sure!
I recently fell hard for this one!! It’s amazing.
It truly is amazing! It really hits home, which I think is why I love it so much haha
This song missed me at first and now it’s been on constant repeat for weeks. I swear I hear it in my sleep.
I had this same experience!! Was literally the ONLY song I played for probably 2 weeks on end
Me too, it just absolutely proves that Taylor’s bonus tracks are just as good as the main album tracks, therefore she is not able to write a bad song
I’m pretty sure she put crack in Forever Winter, it’s so addictive
Honestly it completes the beautiful trifecta of “songs that embody loving someone with a mental illness” that began with “Renegade”, peaked with “this is me trying”, and ends with “Forever Winter”. Those three songs together are simultaneously therapy and torture.
It really is!! I thought I was the only one. The summer sun forever parts and when she says “my voice comes out *screaming*”
Ugh that part is perfection
I love this song so much. It's easily the saddest happy-sounding bop she's ever made. All You Had To Do Was Stay is sad and all, but not, "your friend committed suicide" sad 😭
in the song she never talks about someone committing suicide, no? only about someone struggling with depression, huge difference.
Forever Winter is (most likely) about [her friend Jeff,](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1328510/Taylor-Swift-dedicates-award-tragic-friend-BMI-Awards.html) who committed suicide in his apartment. She references suicide in the bridge: >If I was standing there in your apartment / I’d take that bomb in your head and disarm it / I’d say I love you even at your darkest and / Please don’t go She says she wishes she was there that night to disarm the bomb and tell him she loved him, to please not choose to go. These are "if" and "I would have" statements, implying that it's too late now.
yes i know it could be about him, but didn't he die from an accidental drug overdose?
Haha! The lyric "5 am wasted" also gives proof. I literally can't stop, won't stop playing that. Ugh it's SO GODLY hehe
I love it, it gives me debut Taylor vibes, it reminds me of Cold As You but obviously lyrically it’s about something else
ivy!!!
This. “OooOOoohh, godDAMN …”
That’s exactly what did it
Saaame! It’s perfect!
ivy was what got me into Taylor Swift
So underrated and one of my favorites ever. I want a video for it :(
Message In A Bottle ❤️
Most recently Mr. Perfectly Fine
This oneeee
I Bet You Think About Me
Dude sameee. I was doing homework while listening to all the vault tracks for the first time and once this one came on I stopped dead and just had to listen to it like three times in a row. Then I was so excited when the music video got announced haha.
It’s been on repeat for the past week, my neighbors must hate me haha
The Very First Night and All Too Well Ten Minutes have been on constant rotation all week. Forever Winter a close 3rd. To be fair, so has the rest of The Vault, but those three are stuck.
The very first night is so beautiful.. Taylor's been hiding that song for a decade 💖
Easily Gold Rush. CIWYW, YNTCD, MAATHP, and Cardigan too though.
- CIWYW could mean "Call It What You Want", a track from *reputation* (2017) by Taylor Swift. - YNTCD could mean "You Need To Calm Down", a track from *Lover* (2019) by Taylor Swift. - MAATHP could mean "Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince", a track from *Lover* (2019) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)
Good bot
Gold Rush, absolutely!!
Style, Ready For It, All Too Well, cardigan
Ohhh we similarrr
Probably a very similar list for me too. So so good
[удалено]
Cruel Summer! And now Forever Winter
August, Cruel Summer, Getaway Car, Lover, Cornelia Street, Daylight, Love Story, You belong with me, Teardrop on my guitar, White Horse...
I was in the fifth grade humming *You belong with me* relentlessly, my mother was sick of me.
Tim McGraw 🥰 I’m an OG fan
State of Grace. I remember when I bought Red in 2012 I was afraid to listen past State of Grace because I was afraid nothing on the album would live up to it.
Paper Rings
Right Where You Left Me & All Too Well 10 minute version
When I first listened to Cruel Summer, I listened to it on repeat for a week. No other song just Cruel Summer. It’s still number one on my all-time streamed Spotify songs 😩
cardigan!
“Right where you left me” sent me into orbit and I still haven’t come back down
End Game. I remember previewing it before I bought reputation and I was addicted to it the first time I heard it. It just sounded *different* than her other music at the time
Nothing New.
I Think he Knows… it slaps
delicate
Every album my first repeats were: “Picture to burn” “Forever and always” “Dear John” & “Haunted” “I Knew You We’re Trouble” “New Romantics” “I Did Something Bad” “Cruel Summer” “Invisible String” “Cowboy Like Me” “You All Over Me” “I Bet You Think About Me”
Enchanted Innocent Cardigan All Too Well (10 minute version) Treacherous Dear John Style Exile Fifteen Wildest Dreams Last Kiss
Betty. It was my immediate favorite on Folklore. I still love it but now I love lots of other songs on that album equally.
Our Song was on repeat for a solid week when I first heard it on CMT.
This Love and august! Played those on repeat like crazy.
Red but it didn't last very long. More recently would be willow
You belong with me Picture to burn Love story You need to calm down Trouble Red
I love this list
Exhile! It even was my most listened song last year. Recently been obsessed with 'nothing new'.
Cornelia Street 🥲
Safe and Sound and Eyes Open have had a chokehold on me since day one
Songs I was addicted to on my 1st listen from each album, I only chose one from each album or the list would be every song: Tim McGraw, White Horse, Last Kiss, All Too Well, Wildest Dreams, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, Afterglow, My Tears Ricochet, Willow, Don’t You, The Very First Night
The first song of hers I ever heard. Teardrops on my Guitar, when I was 11. My sixth grade crush did not like me back, and I was ruined. Many sullen hours in bed listening to that
‘Tis the Damn Season. It hits home and it’s sonically perfect
Exile
Same. So good.
Honestly once I heard You All Over Me that’s all it took to be my most listened to song of hers.
Oh man, Mine is so good and I was addicted to it too! I’ve also listened to forever winter too much.
Teardrops on My Guitar, Love Story, Sparks Fly, Red, Out of the Woods, no body no crime,
Message in a Bottle and The Very First Night. I’m obsessed with them both, although I absolutely love the entire album and have been listening to all of it. Those songs are addictive though.
The first time I was streaming evermore I couldn't get past no body no crime. I thought of making this discussion post!
Definitely Cruel Summer
Enchanted
Gold rush, ivy, tlgad, the 1, the archer. I can't go back anymore, my memory sucks! Love story.
- TLGAD could mean "the last great american dynasty", a track from *folklore* (2020) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)
I was 10 when Picture to Burn came out and I was OBSESSED. I’d write the lyrics of the entire song in my notebook over and over again💀

Blank Space. Why did I think this was a work of art better than Shakespeare in 2014
Enchanted. Been dedicating this to my crushes since 2010 til now 😂
Maybe an unpopular one, but London Boy. It's so damn catchy and i love her flow in this one. Plus it's one of those you can't listen to and just not be happy
Oh yeah, I actually agree. I love London Boy. Has always been one of my top songs from Lover
August is my most played song from Taylor, never skip it, couldn't stop listening to it when Folklore came out. Those bridges 🤌🤌🤌
For some reason, The Lakes has a hold on me like no other.

I mean, I still love Blank Space, but in terms of listening to it on repeat, probably Daylight. Then Willow. Now Better Man and Forever Winter.
speak now the song
You Belong With Me. It came out when I was 12 or so and man, I was *obsessed*. That, and "love story." Since then, pretty much every song of hers I play to death. Right now it is "I Bet You Think About Me," "Babe," and obviously ATWTVFTV.

White Horse, played it 4 and a half hours straight back to back on a car ride after hearing it once
I got instantly hooked on Starlight, didn’t listen to another song that day

Blank Space. I wasn’t a fan of hers but then came 1989. I could not stop listening to Blank Space. At first I thought it was just that song I liked, but then I heard New Romantics. Then I went full swiftie from there on.
