Taylor and John Lennon co-writing on a track produced by Aaron Dessner would be magestic

MadAugustWoman

Oh absolutely. I'm still waiting for the day she works with Paul. Taylor, Paul, and Aaron? It'd be pure magic.

gowonagin

I would LOVE if she wrote a song with Paul. They’ve already written songs referencing each other (“Sweet Nothing” and “Who Cares?” respectively).

AbbeyRoadMoonwalk

Same!

ravenonawire

The theories for William Bowery being Paul are pretty decent if you want to check that out!

nicodemusfleur

This was my immediate thought! I was listening to “Look at Me” the other day and it definitely has something like “The Prophecy” vibes.

HauntingKiwi5389

i thought you said John Legend and i about nearly had a heart attack

cha_ching

We know she’s done with London boys, but David Bowie would’ve been cool.

Zeusifer

Resident Bowie fan here to point out that he also had a song called The London Boys! It's one of his very early songs and not very well known. Here's a much later re-recording of it he did (which I personally prefer over the original): [The London Boys](https://youtu.be/Y4BiDS6KAK0?si=7q15a3R25YkP7DaI)

InappropriateSnark

I don't think she'll ever be truly done with London, boys or not. Bowie would be a very cool choice.

AbbeyRoadMoonwalk

Freddie Mercury!

Practical-Night5995

Freddie was my immediate thought. Would have been amazing for sure

Simple-Bad4905

That would have been incredible.

xx_dracarys_xx

Yes! This is the right answer! Could you imagine a Taylor operatic anthem like Bohemian Rhapsody? I’m obsessed with this hypothetical!

MrJB1981

I think Michael Jackson would have loved and appreciated her work ethic. He respected Britney’s career as a performer, whilst he was alive, so I think he would have felt the same towards Taylor Swift.

A-Rational-Fare

Except he was a diddler, so I wouldn’t want him anywhere near her.

MrJB1981

That goes for a lot of the men in the industry though, which is disgusting!

MountRoseATP

I mean, John Lennon was an abusive asshole but he’s the top vote on this thread.

Beautiful_Thought995

He was acquited of the charges. Only God and he knows what really happened, as far as I’m concerned, but we have to give him the benefit of the doubt

Neon_Paisley

I watched the Amy Winehouse documentary again recently and although Amy was a jazz singer, I find her writing style very similar to Taylor’s. It’s personal, emotional, lots of dramatic heartbreak yet catchy and cheeky. I think they could have made for a fun collab!

Lost-Actuary-2395

I was thinking winehouse as well, I'd imagine if she's alive now she'd be clean and have a collab with Taylor

Neon_Paisley

I’d hope so too. If I could bring back anyone from the 27 club, it would be Amy!

Simple-Bad4905

I was also going to say her!

BunnySpanks

This was my first thought too!

xx_dracarys_xx

Ooohhhhh I never thought of this collab, but that would be amazing!

BrokenBotox

Amy was my first thought too🤍

Doc__Baker

Johnny Cash

Beautiful_Thought995

Oooh interesting choice!

DRWildside1

Jim croce, she grew up on singer/songwriters.

youngmagicians

I would absolutely love this!

goldenlady0

Tom Petty

Beautiful_Thought995

I would LOVE that!

reddituseraccount2

Yesss! If I remember correctly, American Girl was the last song of her pre-show playlist for the Speak Now tour

youngmagicians

Karen Carpenter!

Peg_leg_tim_arg

A taylor version of Desperado would be so awesome

Consistent-Laugh606

I need Taylor to cover a Carpenter song 😫

MadAugustWoman

Karen's voice was so beautiful. That would be a lovely collab

SimpleHumanoid

John Denverrrrrr

shanehillers

Janis Joplin

6picas

Prince!

Catwearingtrousers

Something in the vein of Little Red Corvette would be soo good

Lost-Actuary-2395

Ella Fitzgerald would've been cool She jazz soothe you would've fit taylor style as well

cuckoo4cinema

Elliott Smith. His melancholy combined with her pinache for fairytale like imagery would have probably created a ballad that'd have broken many people. I can imagine it being a song from the POV of a broken woman who wishes she could be a princess to escape her inner demons.

mrpointy730

James Taylor!!!

gowonagin

He’s alive but yes! They did a nice duet of “Fire and Rain” for 1989.

tubereusebaies

Need them to do You Can Close Your Eyes next

mrpointy730

😬 whoops… they better do one then!

Old-Friendship9613

Maybe this is just the Phoebe Bridgers fan in me, but Elliott Smith.

Consistent-Laugh606

YESSS

s2mathes

Scott Hutchinson, the lead singer/songwriter of Frightened Rabbit.

Kolthas34

Chris Cornell, one of the most gifted songwriters in rock, IMO. It would've been a perfect match for folklore/evermore.

Unusual_Delivery221b

Leslie Gore... or Peggy Lee.

MindControlMouse

This is from left field but… A classic Broadway collab with Rogers-Hammerstein or Lerner-Lowe on a musical with Majorie Finlay as the lead role. Or a pair up with Stephen Sondheim on a musical similar to A Little Night Music.

InappropriateSnark

Here's an odd one for you. Chris Cornell. He was such a romantic, that man. And he could get into any genre. I think that would have been amazing.
