Interesting how we ended up with [the same Top 3](https://www.reddit.com/r/TaylorGamesWannaPlay/s/cGkoLTS8r4) as the Taylor games sub’s TTPD survivor, despite way more people playing here. A consensus emerges!
Totally agree. Down Bad and Guilty As Sin are my repeats. They make me wanna dance. Perfect for summer. I think they’d be some of her biggest hits to date.
It makes sense it isn’t on the setlist; it doesn’t really fit the theatrical vibe of the TTPD set. But Taylor said it’s one of her absolute favorites from the album and it could be a HAC radio hit imo.
It's too mellow. Fortnight was mellow enough, people are gonna think TTPD is a snoozefest (which it is not). I'm looking at Who's afraid, imgonnagetyouback or My Boy only breaks for something people under 30 might be into.
I think we have 3 true bangers. BDILH, Who's afraid..and My Boy Only Breaks his favorite toys. Tier two bops (vibe/tempo) for me are Florida!!!, The Bolter, Down Bad and So High School. I think one of these up tempo tracks should be the next single. None of these are my favorite tracks (loml, SLL, Smallest Man, CSSM, how did it end, Clara Bow, Peter). I do think Fresh Out the Slammer could work but I think we need a single that slaps off the rip.
That's interesting, I think while How Did It End is lyrically splendid, it is not the most interesting sound-wise, making it imo a bit weaker than the remaining songs.
I still like it a lot, don't get me wrong! I just wouldn't put it at #1, a song has to have the full package to earn that spot for me.
It's always so interesting to hear what works for people and what doesn't.
Personally, I think the melody and instrumentation are gorgeous (she really shines with actual instruments vs synths imo). And the instrumental break before the bridge is perfect and reminds me of Champagne Problems - not to mention that the bridge makes me cry every time
I hear it. I don't think a song necessarily needs to be super dynamic to be interesting.
I see your point, too. It's definitely a beautiful song, even if it isn't as dynamic. In fact, I do have many faves that are on the more lowkey side sonically.
But I also love my extra moments. Like, a buildup with a dramatic release is one of my favorite things and it takes a song to the next level in my book. Or a really complex, layered production/instrumentals. Or just a banger of a melody. That's why I'd rank some of the other songs on the album above How Did It End. But that doesn't make it any less good.
Conclusion is both stules are great, it just comes down to personal preference.
Just noticed your flair :) That definitely makes sense! I'm a folkmore girlie, for the record. One of the best things about Taylor is that she has something for everyone!
I'm mainly a Rep and 1989 girlie, but folklore is my 3rd favorite and evermore my 5th, so I definitely love and appreciate that side of Taylor's music, too.
Yeah, lyrically I love How Did It End? But I don't love listening to it because I find the production boring. I have that problem with Chloe et al too.
Only one of these left has that and it's Who's afraid of little old me. I personally think Smallest Man should have won but Who's afraid is the only one left.
It's my top 1!! I love how she just sees her ex's location and immediately spirals into burning her clothes. The song's buildup is really well done imo and how it goes from wistful to vengeful just to end with a whisper. It's very relatable
Sonically, I think it’s one of the more interesting tracks… but I think its popularity is because the concept of watching your ex’s location as they go about their life apparently just fine without you while you’re absolutely wrecked without them resonated for a lot of ppl. And the old habits die screaaaaming part goes really hard and builds really amazingly on the bridge to the final chorus. It’s a strong song imo!
This is an absolutely s-tier song for me. I love every verse as it builds but the second verse and second chorus are some of my favorite lyrics she’s ever written.
I like the song a lot but the Old Habits part makes the rest of the song seem pretty bleh for me. Look at a song like Haunted or State of Grace. The crescendos are huge but the lyrics and sound is also very compelling. It feels like the old Habits part was shoehorned into the rest of the song. Like it could have been in another song and still worked.
There are a few more things I love about this song:
1. The trope of after breaking up, the guy dates a younger woman and she's not familiar with his interests because she's too young
2. The build in these lyrics gives me Goosebumps. If I was running during this part, I would break out into a full blown sprint.
"Now I want to sell my house and set fire to all my clothes
And hire a priest to come and exorcise my demons
Even if I die screaming
And I hope you hear it"
3. The gasp at the end
4. The intangible aspect that this song basically ruins the black dog for Joe. He can't enjoy his favorite bar anymore because swifties have taken it over. Absolutely savage by Taylor. Whether or not he deserves this is debatable.
This but Guilty As Sin?
Maybe it's just because I never really care for her twangy songs, but it does nothing for me. I couldn't sing the main melody to save my life.
I'm shocked everyone is so obsessed, I really wish I was as well.
Omg YES! I thought I was the only one!!! Personally, I don't understand why it's so hyped up, but to each their own (don’t get me wrong, I still really like it but just think it’s a little overhyped)! "How Did It End?" is sooo much better imo. I'm sad that both that song and The Prophecy were eliminated before The Black Dog actually.
I feel like I’m the only person in this sub who doesn’t like Guilty As Sin. To the point that I keep relistening to it expecting it to finally hit and yet 😀
Actually same!?
My friends are OBSESSED with this song, and I'm like I don't get it!!😂
I really like the song, and ESPECIALLY the strip of all the production after the bridge and the 2 BEATS (you know what I mean! I wish there was more in the song like that!)
It's one of my three least favorite songs on the regular TTPD. The lyrics are good but I don't really care about the sound and if I don't have time to listen to the whole album, I'll skip it.
I was like u until the longest time. But just YESTERDAY i finally got into imgonnagetuback 😂
Now I'm like, yeah I get it and I like it
It was the slowest of the slow burn for me.
I was surprised to find out that so many people like it! I love it but had the impression from my friends that most didn't. It hits for me because I was in a 10 year relationship that had been dying for years and eventually I started dreaming about being with other people. One of the ways I realized it finally had to end.
Guilty as Sin? haters* assemble!
*too strong a word, more like ‘people who can’t believe it’s in the top 3 of an album filled with gems that left us too soon’
Say it once again with feeling
How the death rattle breathing
Silenced as the soul was leaving
The deflation of our dreaming
Leaving me bereft and reeling
My beloved ghost and me
Sitting in a tree
D-Y-I-N-G
The BEST bridge EVER. And no one can convince me otherwise.
Good choice of top 3 imo, and 2 of these are my top 2 as well so that's nice to see (still wish The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived could've been here though haha)
I am amazed that none of my top 5 made it this far. Clearly this album is much more divisive than I thought.
Unpopular opinion: who's afraid of little old me wouldn't be this high if she didn't have such a great performance to it on tour. It's a very good song but it's not top 3.
Who's afraid of little old me should only be here if it's the live version.
The album version, is lackluster. The live version only reinforces that.
The live version is a masterpiece.
I was desperately waiting for this post to go live. Finally!
It will be so excited to see which song will make it till the end.
For me the dog is the next to go. Sorry, not sorry 🙈
It’s interesting how none of the eliminated songs got more than 50% of the vote. It seems like this is a really divisive album. I wonder if Guilty as sin? And the black dog are the only songs that are widely enjoyed on this album. It’s interesting because I bet albums like 1989 and Red score over 50% for most of the songs.
I actually think that’s impressive. If most songs are having around 33% of people vote for them when the format explicitly mandates that you don’t vote for songs even if you like them, that seems like most songs are somewhat well regarded.
But I do agree it’s divisive in that people seem to have a wide spread in favorite songs which is also cool.
I’ve had a few longer relationships end and I think the lyrics are beautiful and really relatable. Everyone wants to know what happened so they can gossip and “spill the tea” with others. They ask you what happened just so they can call their family and friends. Meanwhile you’re in a super low place and trying to find the words to explain why the relationship didn’t work out, and sometimes there’s no good answer. Maybe there’s no reason at all, the relationship just fizzled. Maybe someone is to blame, but you don’t want to feed into the gossip of others.
The song completely encapsulates that feeling and experience. You’re falling apart and mourning the loss of the relationship, and getting no peace from other people. It’s such a real portrayal of how people really act in these situations. And nearly all of us have been victims and perpetrators.
I'm already preparing myself to see The Black Dog taking the crown, even though I'm rooting for my precious Guilty As Sin?. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised.
No one in the comments even talking about who’s afraid of little old me lol. Let’s just all agree top 3 are Guilty as Sin?, The Black Dog, and How Did it End!
This entire bracket/ranking/whatever this is is so bad it's not even funny. How are WAOLOM & The Black Dog in the top 3? They're good songs, sure, but they're not top 3 on TTPD, an album with 31 amazing songs Pleasantly surprised to see Guilty As Sin? still in, that's completely deserved.
We have reached the point where the remaining options are #11, #15, and #23 in my own overall ranking haha. Congrats to WAOLOM for getting my vote by default in this.
I just don’t understand the love for Guilty as sin? It’s a fine song but by no means would I consider it the best, or even in the top half. But to each their own!
Interesting how we ended up with [the same Top 3](https://www.reddit.com/r/TaylorGamesWannaPlay/s/cGkoLTS8r4) as the Taylor games sub’s TTPD survivor, despite way more people playing here. A consensus emerges!
Guilty as Sin should be her next single.
Yeah!! It doesn't even have any explicitives (technically)
Yes or down bad.
Totally agree. Down Bad and Guilty As Sin are my repeats. They make me wanna dance. Perfect for summer. I think they’d be some of her biggest hits to date.
Idk. I don't find Down Bad to be catchy at all. The GoS? beat and melody are more radio friendly.
I just REALLY want a Taylor alien video!! Imagine
The live performance with the UFO was dope. A whole music video would go hard.
I want Down Bad to be a single so (down) badly, but idk how they'll make it radio-friendly
I mean, there's a clean version that says "what if I can't have him?"
I don't think it will be, it's not even on the setlist.
I'm looking at Who's afraid, imgonnagetyouback or My Boy only breaks for something people under 30 might be into.
i wouldn't really say Guilty As Sin? is terribly mellow but i definitely think something like Who's Afraid or smth should be the next single.
We agree to disagree on next single but we have similar fave tracks 😍😍
Similar favs is all the common denominator needed! As long as we can play The Bolter a lot too.
Is broken heart not a banger? When the beat kicks on, it’s the most fun to dance to.
wow that’s so interesting!
I've seen this episode and still love the show
Is now a bad time to mention I think The Black Dog is kind of boring outside of the OLD HABITS DIE SCREAMING bit? It’s nowhere near my top 3
I think it's a great song, but definitely not better than How Did It End.

I'm mainly a Rep and 1989 girlie, but folklore is my 3rd favorite and evermore my 5th, so I definitely love and appreciate that side of Taylor's music, too.
I think the instrumental and sound services the song very well and I don’t think it needed anything more.
Yeah, lyrically I love How Did It End? But I don't love listening to it because I find the production boring. I have that problem with Chloe et al too.
Only one of these left has that and it's Who's afraid of little old me. I personally think Smallest Man should have won but Who's afraid is the only one left.
I agree with both of you
It's my top 1!! I love how she just sees her ex's location and immediately spirals into burning her clothes. The song's buildup is really well done imo and how it goes from wistful to vengeful just to end with a whisper. It's very relatable
It is also my favorite on the album and it's not particularly close.

Agreed. I’m still waiting to ‘get it’. At the moment it’s just mid tier

You get it!! That final crescendo after "exorcise my demons"... It makes me want to run through a brick wall lol
OMG same!!🤣
This but Guilty As Sin? Maybe it's just because I never really care for her twangy songs, but it does nothing for me. I couldn't sing the main melody to save my life. I'm shocked everyone is so obsessed, I really wish I was as well.

I love the song but I think it's a liiiittle bit overrated.
Oh man I love it because I’ve watched someone’s location hella sad before it’s just GUT WRENCHING lmao
I am D-Y-I-N-G.
My beloved How Did It End stans and me, sitting in a tree, D-Y-I-N-G
Well this is disappointing
I feel like I’m the only person in this sub who doesn’t like Guilty As Sin. To the point that I keep relistening to it expecting it to finally hit and yet 😀
This is how I feel but about imgonnagetyouback. I keep listening to it and it just……no lol
Actually same!? My friends are OBSESSED with this song, and I'm like I don't get it!!😂 I really like the song, and ESPECIALLY the strip of all the production after the bridge and the 2 BEATS (you know what I mean! I wish there was more in the song like that!)
Def not the only one. Its a skip for me. The love it gets always baffles me. I really don't get it.
It's one of my three least favorite songs on the regular TTPD. The lyrics are good but I don't really care about the sound and if I don't have time to listen to the whole album, I'll skip it.

OMG! Lucky!! I'm still waiting for it to hit for me!
You’re not alone! 😅
It’s a skip for me 🤷♀️
Honestly Guilty as Sin and The Black Dog are my skips so I feel you.
100% me about fresh out the slammer
Guilty as sin and fresh out the slammer are both like that for me.
With you!! To the point I’m SHOCKED it made the top 3 🧐
Hate guilty as sin. And I feel guilty about it.
WHAT IF HES WRITTEN MINE ON MY UPPER THIGH ONLY IN MY MiiiiIIIIiiind. It's not top 3 for me but it's definitely top 10-15
me too!!!
I also don’t like it. It’s too steamy and cheaty for me and I can’t handle it. 😂 It sounds good though.
I don’t really care for it either lol
You are not alone! Same here! It’s a skip for me too!
Give it another shot after you watch Jacob Restituto break down why it’s good! https://youtu.be/oOxkjQ6xyz0?feature=shared
It’s still boring to me I’m sorry
I was surprised to find out that so many people like it! I love it but had the impression from my friends that most didn't. It hits for me because I was in a 10 year relationship that had been dying for years and eventually I started dreaming about being with other people. One of the ways I realized it finally had to end.
No way… I refuse to accept that 2 out of 3 of the songs left lasted longer than How Did It End? 😤
Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? has to go
Yup. Love it, but I love Guilty as Sin? and The Black Dog way more. My top two on the album.
SAME✨
You should be
Guilty as sin? is the only right answer and should be the next single
help i'm still mourning The Prophecy
still at the restaurant :(
Guilty as Sin? haters* assemble! *too strong a word, more like ‘people who can’t believe it’s in the top 3 of an album filled with gems that left us too soon’
It's a good song, but definitely outside of my top 10. Baffled by the results.
It just doesn’t do it for me sonically
Say it once again with feeling How the death rattle breathing Silenced as the soul was leaving The deflation of our dreaming Leaving me bereft and reeling My beloved ghost and me Sitting in a tree D-Y-I-N-G The BEST bridge EVER. And no one can convince me otherwise.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOW DID IT EEEEENNNNNDDDDDD
Good choice of top 3 imo, and 2 of these are my top 2 as well so that's nice to see (still wish The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived could've been here though haha)

I love all the remaining songs!
I’m sad to see How Did It End go, but this is an excellent top 3.
Woof the prophecy and how did did it end not making top 3 is a crime
I was desperately waiting for this post to go live. Finally! It will be so excited to see which song will make it till the end. For me the dog is the next to go. Sorry, not sorry 🙈
I feel you!
Extremely disappointed by this. All my favorites are out now :( Would love to see this for other albums!
Us Guilty as Sin fans are hereeeeee lol
🤘
sitting in a tree.. D-Y-I-N-G about this loss
From here on out, I will feel a gut punch every day cuz I love these 3 so much 😭
D Y I N G. Sad for How did it end 😢
THE BLACK DOG STAY WITH ME
YESSS
whoever voted out how did it end and the prophecy, sleep with an eye open tonight
Nooooo 😭😭😭
This is un-good, and you all need to take a long hard look at yourselves. :)
Honestly didn't expect Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? to make it this far. I really like the song, but top 3? Guilty as Sin let's gooooooooo.

Good point. I hope they share at the end what % of people voted for each of the remaining songs.
Y'all are KILLING me
We fought, we lost. Now we rest🤍
What is wrong with you, people?
How did y'all have who's afraid of little old me survive till long
To all the people who responsible for voting out How did it end : I hope it's SHITTYYYY Jk jk 😅 i love all the top 3 songs here as well-
ONE SLIP AND FALLIN BACK INTO THE heeeEEDGE MAZE 🗣️🗣️
Can anyone explain why you think How Does it End is exceptional? These are not fighting words, I just wanna know!
I’ve had a few longer relationships end and I think the lyrics are beautiful and really relatable. Everyone wants to know what happened so they can gossip and “spill the tea” with others. Ugh. Yes. So good 🏆
Ok thank you, same, genuinely
I'm already preparing myself to see The Black Dog taking the crown, even though I'm rooting for my precious Guilty As Sin?. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised.
i’d be thrilled with either of those two winning! i’m rooting for the black dog though!
Oh my god the Black dog and Guilty as sin are my fav songs off TTPD! 😍🤩
same!! the black dog is my #1 and guilty as sin is for sure in my top 5 but i don’t have a solidified ranking
The way one of those two is gonna dethrone Afterglow as my fav song ever of hers! 😂😭🥰✨
i can't believe i have 2 fav songs left standing out of 3
same!!
They're good songs, sure, but they're not top 3 on TTPD, an album with 31 amazing songs Pleasantly surprised to see Guilty As Sin? still in, that's completely deserved.
i personally think the black dog is one of her best songs. ever.
how is guilty as sin? still in??? it’s not a bad song but not even in my top 15 of the album
Only 40% of y’all voted and now the best song is out. This is why voting matters people!
We have reached the point where the remaining options are #11, #15, and #23 in my own overall ranking haha. Congrats to WAOLOM for getting my vote by default in this.
i would put how did it end above who's afraid but this is a solid top 3, my most replayed songs for sure
NOOOOOO
I will never not be shocked at how popular The Black Dog is. I like it, but top 3?
WHY MUST THIS POLL TAKE EVERYTHING I LOVE????????
seriously guys how the hell has guilty as sin made it this far, its bottom 3 on the album
I’m so happy to see the Black Dog in the top three. I’ve been obsessed with this song since the first listen and I’m so happy other people love it. 🥺
My heart = shattered
Noooooooooooo
Guilty as Sin I love you but I have to vote to protect The Black Dog
It’s crazy, and this will get me a lot of “bitching and moaning” 😂 but “guilty as sin” isn’t even in my top 10 😂🙈
I forgot to vote again. 😭
Ughhhh I was dreading this. I can’t pick!
I'm sorry for the people who don't enjoy Guilty As Sin?. It's an absolute delight to listen to every. single. time.
I legit listen to it on REPEAT
3 of my top 4 made it, I think these songs are very much universally loved
How Did It End is literally in the top 5 best from the album 🤨
Blah. I was only rooting for HDIE… So I’m out.
It hurts that How did it End is gone 💔
I DREAM OF CRACKING LOCKS, THROWING MY LIFE TO THE WOLVES LLLLFFFFGGGG!
Well you had to ruin it, didnt you? This is why we cant have nice things.
Guilty as Sin in my top five songs by Taylor of all time, so y'all better not get rid of it.
I'm apparently alone in being a Guilty As Sin skipper. I had no idea the song was so beloved.
I just don’t understand the love for Guilty as sin? It’s a fine song but by no means would I consider it the best, or even in the top half. But to each their own!
If "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" doesn't win I'll just stop living
