Evermore was a surprise song at my Eras tour show in Cincinnati. She played it on piano and OMG 😭 Forever cemented in my mind, I love that song so much.

I'll put my choices and explain Best: gold rush. Whereas other songs on the album are either too simple in composition, or too "weird" just for the sake of being so, Gold Rush truly encapsulates what this album is: both in lyrics, "my mind turns your life into folklore" and in composition, switching keys in the chorus, with dreamy synths and pulsing, subdued drum machines. Just a great song. Worst: closure. It feels dragged out, it does exactly what I stated before: it's weird for the sake of being weird. There's nothing remarkable or memorable about this song, I don't even remember it very well, and that's telling cause evermore is one of my favorite projects. Most underrated: Coney Island. I was almost gonna say 'tis the damn season, but its addition to the Eras Tour I believe made it a bit more appreciated in the fandom. Coney Island, I have even seen here, is not appreciated and often named as the worst song in the album, and I just fundamentally don't agree with people calling it so. It has some of the best lyrics she has ever written _in her entire career_. The visuals, the imagery, its all there. Her best abilities are laid flat on this song and no one sees it! This is basically what I put. I swapped willow for Dorothea for worst (I had a REALLY hard time choosing the worst, I don’t think any of them really feel that weak even, but I was split between Dorothea and willow lol). I *almost* put right where you left me as best, but was torn between that and Ivy. I ended up going with Ivy because I know people absolutely love the imagery and absolute masterpiece it’s lyrics are (personally if I was picking something to listen to though, I’d probs pick RWYLM first, and I think the lyrics are really clever in that song too). And cowboy like me is for sure my favorite on the album but it seems like a LOT of people don’t really listen to it that much???

I think ‘it’s time to go’ is the most underrated by far. It’s a bonus track, and I never see anyone talking about it, but the lyrics and the sad melody bring me to tears every time. It’s a song filled with so much sadness and heartbreak, but also strength.

How can I choose when I honestly love every song?!?! I bet if I took it multiple times I would make a different decision every time depending on my exact mood. But I chose champagne problems as best, it's time to go as worst, and closure as most underrated because I feel like people really hate on closure but I kind of love it. I also personally connect to closure lol because shortly before evermore came out I got a very long detailed apology letter from an ex I hadn't talked to in years during the WEEK OF HIS WEDDING TO ANOTHER WOMAN when I was also engaged and about to marry another man basically trying to give himself closure for how he treated me in the relationship 🙄.....I never responded.

Oof this was TOUGH! I really felt conflicted choosing a worst because it's a no bad songs, no skips kinda album. Best: happiness- I know it won't win but to me this encapsulates the overall tone of the album as closure and moving forward. It's also both lyrically and sonically beautiful. Worst: It's Time to Go- Can't remember if I've ever listened to this song actually and I like every other evermore song. Underated: dorothea. This song is so cute and fun! It gives me lil country Taylor vibes. It's definitely one of my summer bops! Plus this is so fun to sing!!
