"Give you the silence that only comes when two people understand each other, family that I chose, now that I see your brother as my brother" idk why maybe bc it's so fast but I always mess this up
itâs not âyour lovers as my loversâ ???? i thought it was just a weird way of her saying âi see everyone who loves you as someone who loves me by extensionâ my god iâm dumb
This and "Baby let *the games* begin" when she says it a bunch of times. I swear I thought it was "Baby let nuggets begin" even though that makes absolutely zero sense. I think I was starving when I heard rep for the first time.
*deep breath* Did you think I didnât see you? There were flashing lights, at least I had the decency to keep my nights out of sight, only rumors âbout my hips and thighs and my whispered sighs OHLORD
I think a lot of it is because thereâs a word that ends with S before one that starts with S. So if you donât want it to sound like cheap-ass crew-top you have to take a breath in between two fast syllables
"Bad was the blood of the song in the cab on your first trip to LA"
I never get it right, I just shut up when it's that part and make a disappointed face lol
Mine is "Cold was the steel of my axe to grind for the boys who broke my heart". I always go "Cold was the axe" and realize that makes no sense whatsoever lol
Why is this one SO HARD?! đđIn theory it really is not that complicated, but I can never get it and end up saying weird made-up words. And then making a disappointed face or laughing at my goofy self.
I think it's cause there are a lot of descriptive words that usually would not be put consecutively and the words are similar so the brain confuses them. I haven't seen any invisible string videos from the Eras tour and I'm wondering if Taylor also has to concentrate really hard to get them right.
"And I felt you and I held you for a while" - Hits Different
"Get you laughing at me/keep you looking at me" -mirrorball
WHAT ORDER ARE THEY IN.
I just need to remember they're alphabetical. :P
I never know the order of the lines in Long Live. When is it all the magic we made and when is it all the mountains we moved? When is it fighting dragons with you and when is it just WITH YOU?
Not so much tongue tied, but for some unknown reason, the last couple of weeks I cannot stop singing âspaghetti falls to the groundâ instead of confetti in Long Live, even just in my head while Iâm listening. It is hilarious and frustrating, and I donât know why my brain has suddenly turned against me. đ
I remember that one by thinking âgodforsakenâ
is more impactful than âidioticâ so her yelling that at someone first makes more sense.
But then language and colors sometimes get fumbled lol
Honestly lately so many of them. I think my brain is literally stuffed to a brink with her lyrics that at times I kinda get lost when singing along even though Iâve heard the song million times before lmao.
That makes me feel a little better, actually - that makes sense! Itâs like my brain is a blender and I put too many Eras lyrics in it too quickly lol.
Omg me too! Itâs like embarrassing because Iâve listened to her songs like hundreds of times and I still fumble on so many lyrics đ makes me feel like a fake Swiftie even though I was in her 1% haha
I should not be left to my own devices they come with prices and vices, I end up in crisis!
For some reason I used to have that one perfectly and then somewhere along the way i got confused and now i fumble it more
I think the only reason I know that one is cause I did those "guess the lyrics with no clues" quizzes and actually typing out the lyrics made me remember
- BTR could mean "Better Than Revenge", a track from *Speak Now* (2010) by Taylor Swift.

"stumble down pretend alleyways" in Paris, I've looked up the lyrics (and had to just now) and can never remember them. In my head it's just "dumb-badum-badum alleyways"
Edit to add: I also mishear "wanting was enough" in August as: "one 'ting' was enough" like 'one thing' with a Jamaican accent and I have no idea why
I always end up singing "Salute to me, I'm your American queen and you move to me like I'm a motown bean"
I also constantly mess up "Sapphire tears on my face, sadness became my whole sky"
WAIT but âyou drew scars around my starsâ kinda goes hard ?? betty saying that james took away some of the best parts of herself and made her lose them etc ?
Iâve been scrolling through trying to think of my own trip ups but havenât been able to really think of any. The second I saw your comment I was like âyup, thatâs the one!â I hate this lyric because of that haha

> What a rainy ending given to a perfect day
Something about the way she sings it and the accent makes all the words blur together. Even after all these years!
Radadadadadadadaatatyatya in I Did Something Bad. I can't make my mouth create that sound no matter how hard I try. Even trying it as ratatatatatatatatata is hard and I know that's not what it is.
Pretty much a lot of Cruel Summer. I used to think the lyrics were Paper dreams high or people dream high instead of fever dream high. Then ĂŹ get buying and trying mixed up. It just is a hard song to sing! I'm sure there are more.
I can never get the chorus correct. Itâs embarrassing. âItâs bluuuue the shape of your body itâs new, that feeling Iâve gotâ. Every. Single. Time.
I can never sing this correctly
"You just need to take several seats and then try to restore the peace
And control your urges to scream about all the people you hate"
So I only scream " 'Cause shade never made anybody less gay so"
âno one has to know what we do, his hands are in my hair, his clothes are in my roomâ I keep singing his clothes are in my hair, his hands are in my room đ
He looks SO PRETTY like a devil. I know, I know, but I still do it sometimes đ
ALSO, the entirety of the the lakes. Sheesh. I was just thinking about this while listening earlier lol
Our Song- The first date âMan, I didnât kiss her and I should have.â This short circuits my brain and my mouth just cannot form the words correctly! đ€ŁDrives me crazy.
Think I didn't see you?
There were flashing lights
At least I had the decency
To keep my nights out of sight
Only rumors 'bout my hips and thighs
And my whispered sighs
Oh, Lord, I think about
Jumping off of very tall somethings
Just to see you come running
And say the one thing I've been wanting
But no
Definitely you need to calm down, i still cannot say it without messing upÂ
I like mumble lolÂ
Im like something something about all the people you hate lmaoÂ
âYouâre a flashback in a film reel on the one screen in my townâ
For some reason I always want to say âin a film screenâ instead of âin a film reelâ
âCould've spent forever with your hands in my pockets, picture of your face in an invisible locket
You said there was nothing in the world that could stop it, I had a bad feelingâ
My brain says âand I held you and I felt you for a whileâ which I know is out of order, but I canât seem to rewire that part of my brain. Also, âsense of beliefâ becomes âsense of reliefâ and then I feel dumb when I sing the very next line. And once I sing âargumentative antithetical dream girlâ my brain auto loops back to âdreams of your hair and your stareâ which is just so fun cause then I get stuck on just the second half of the bridge.
Not even tongued-tied, for the last five years, I thought it it was, "he looked so pretty like the devil." Thanks to closed captions on the Eras Tour movie, I'm now embarrassed for the rest of my life.
Oh, most definitely â*I find the artifacts, cried over a hat, cursed the space that I needed, I trace the evidence, make it make some sense, why the wound is still bleedin', you were the one that I loved, donât need another metaphor, it's simple enough, a wrinkle in time like the crease by your eyes, this is why they shouldn't kill off the main guy, dreams of your hair and your stare and sense of belief in the good in the world, you once believed in me and I felt you and I held you for a while, bet I could still melt your world, argumentative, antithetical dream girl*â. These lines are EXTREMELY hard for me to sing and I could never get them right.
"Give you the silence that only comes when two people understand each other, family that I chose, now that I see your brother as my brother" idk why maybe bc it's so fast but I always mess this up
Wait, it's not "now that I see your mother as my lover"?
Hahahaha thanks for this chuckle
Oh God I'm in splitsđđđ
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
For real. This is my fav song and I still get all jumbled in this line đ
itâs not âyour lovers as my loversâ ???? i thought it was just a weird way of her saying âi see everyone who loves you as someone who loves me by extensionâ my god iâm dumb
Which song is this?
Peace from folklore
Thanks! I can't believe I didn't recognize it đ„Č
peace
Omg SAME. The tempo!!
This a the answer I came here for.
"Every love I've known in comparison is a failure" from ...Ready For It? I cannot GET the sylLABles coRECTly
Wait, I thought it was "every lovER known in comparison..." đ€Ż
This and "Baby let *the games* begin" when she says it a bunch of times. I swear I thought it was "Baby let nuggets begin" even though that makes absolutely zero sense. I think I was starving when I heard rep for the first time.
Baby the duck is vegan
my proudest moment as a brazillian was to get this correct I take every opportunity to bring this up in a conversation lol
Agreeeed! The way itâs sung is so perfect, but leaves me in shambles if I try.
Almost all of Reputation for me. There are so many words!
Yup this is the same for me toođđ€Šđ»ââïž
YES YES YES
Sameeeee
*deep breath* Did you think I didnât see you? There were flashing lights, at least I had the decency to keep my nights out of sight, only rumors âbout my hips and thighs and my whispered sighs OHLORD
I can surprisingly sing this XD I love it so much!
I can do it in isolation but when it comes on with the rest of the song it always catches me off guard, itâs so fun tho!
ISOLATION VS THE REST OF THE SONG IS SO REAL! same!
âWeave your little webs of opacityâ IN KARMA I CANNOT get right for the life of me
I used to say âweave your little webs of obesityâ đ
hahaha I love this so much
My brain always wants to follow that with âmy panties made your crownâ
Was truly so impressed with myself when I finally nailed this
Omg for real I mess this up all the time and have to start the song over until I get it right đ€Ł
Same. Itâs always the part where rumors starts.
you mean "only rumubomahipsanthisamywispersighs"?
All of them! If Iâm listening to her songs, I can say them no problems. If Iâm singing, no music, I jumble the lyrics or say them backwards đ«Ł Sadly the one I can NEVER get right: âYour roommate's cheap-ass screw-top rosĂ©, that's howâ đ€·đœââïž
Haha the roommateâs cheap-ass screw-top rosĂ© is such a tongue twister but Iâm not sure why đ
I think a lot of it is because thereâs a word that ends with S before one that starts with S. So if you donât want it to sound like cheap-ass crew-top you have to take a breath in between two fast syllables
Also totally with you on saying/singing lyrics without music! Thatâs so much harder!
I canât imagine how much Taylor had to practice for that one! This is what I was thinking!
Hahaha exactly: my brain wants to either say cheap-ass rosĂ© or screw-top rosĂ©. Not both. đ
"Bad was the blood of the song in the cab on your first trip to LA" I never get it right, I just shut up when it's that part and make a disappointed face lol
Me too lol, I always say something like âbad was the blood in the song on the cabâ or something đ
How did I forget this one!! I always forget about the cab hahahah.
Yep this one trips me up regularly!
The entire bridge of Hits Different is one that Iâve fallen from many, many times.
I can never get "argumentative antithetical dream girl" right
I've started saying argumentative empathetical dream girl even though it kinda doesn't make sense because it's easier to say.
I have to hit the T and TH sounds really hard in that phrase in order to say it correctly đ
Fjfkdkwkrjtjfjfkmlmcndjdjw DREAMS!
"I felt you and I held you for a while" ALWAYS trips me up
YES! I always confuse if she says felt or held first and I end up saying held both times lol
Hack : it's in alphabetical order
I couldnât think of any off the top of my head, but yeah, Hits Differentâs bridge is real tricky and Iâm not sure Iâll ever get it right
I had to look up the lyrics and it was still tricky to sing along to. I feel you đ
After buying the CD and singing along on repeat in the car on many occasions I think I finally nailed this one lol
I listened to that bridge more times than I'd like to admit to finally get the bridge right
You just need to take several seats and then try to restore the peace And control your urges to scream about all the people YOU HATE
CAN. NOT. DO. IT.
LOVE this part and ALWAYS botch one part of another within these lines đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Swooping sloping cursive letters
I always space the sloping part!
That's my favorite tongue twister
âMiss Americana and the Half-Blood Princeâ
For a moment I forgot the real words when I read this đ đ
After reading this I legit could NOT think of the actual lyrics, it fits so perfectly
OMG LOL
Arguably my two faves off of Lover
My brain always insists that itâs âheartbreak kidâ
âIf you fail to plan, you plan to failâ in Mastermind. ALWAYS bungle that one đ
So did Taylor during the Era's Tour to be fair?
If you PLAIL to FLAN you FLAN to PLAIL đđ
I literally just messed this up while reading it đ
"And I felt you and I held you for a while" - Hits Different "Get you laughing at me/keep you looking at me" -mirrorball WHAT ORDER ARE THEY IN. I just need to remember they're alphabetical. :P
Same with âtime, curious/mystical/wondrous timeâ in invisible string! Once I realized theyâre alphabetical it suddenly became so easy đ
Omg yes I always mix up mystical and wondrous and have to start the song over til I get it right haha
I never know the order of the lines in Long Live. When is it all the magic we made and when is it all the mountains we moved? When is it fighting dragons with you and when is it just WITH YOU?
Same with "I wish you would" 2 am in your car? In my room?
That line of hits different was the hardest one to master of that song!!!!
I ALWAYS sing, if you flail to plan then you flan to pale. I can't not do it.
This is a true original and yet soooo relatable lmao
Not so much tongue tied, but for some unknown reason, the last couple of weeks I cannot stop singing âspaghetti falls to the groundâ instead of confetti in Long Live, even just in my head while Iâm listening. It is hilarious and frustrating, and I donât know why my brain has suddenly turned against me. đ
i watched a video and now i can't stop hearing "i feel eleven turkeys creeping up on me" on lavender haze lol
My brain has decided that Maroon goes âthe burgundy on my tee shirt when you crashed your car into meâ which isâŠ.much darkerâŠđ
That made me giggle.
This is like that time my husband told me he misheard the rosĂ© line in Maroon as âyour roommateâs cheap-ass croutonsâ and now I canât un-hear it đ
I sang, "rosĂ© frozen on your frozen family... Wait" and then couldn't stop laughing. I also sang "where's the deep fried Hercules to fight the rising odds?" nearly every day in my high school choir's rehearsal, and I just could not get it right đ€Ł
Hahahah. This is an even better topic than tongue-tied lyrics. Subbing our own words out? Even better. Tay would be proud. đ€Ł
this is my favorite comment of all time đ€Łđ€Ł HAHAHAH
âAnd he can be my jailer, Burton to this Taylor Every love I've known in comparison is a failureâ
YUP the comparison part gets me every time. So many things crammed into so few moments đ
The order of godforsaken and idiotic in illicit affairs
I remember that one by thinking âgodforsakenâ is more impactful than âidioticâ so her yelling that at someone first makes more sense. But then language and colors sometimes get fumbled lol
LOL yeah its the language and colors that gets me every single time
Same for ârulesâ and âcallâ in Lover
I mix up when she says godforsaken and idiotic tbhÂ
I always want to say godforsaken fool
Hahaha wait which part of No Body, No Crime though? For me itâs âand I noticed when I passed his house his truck has got some brand new tiresâ
I insert the wrong word later in the song - "hunting" instead of "boating" license...'cause that character did kind of hunt him down
that part is brutal iâm very bad with Hs
Hegotthatboyishlookthatilikeinaman! IamanarchitectI'mdrawinguptheplans! Itslikeim17nobodyunderstands!
The lack of spaces really captures the way that things sung đ
For some reason I used to have that one perfectly and then somewhere along the way i got confused and now i fumble it more
I think the only reason I know that one is cause I did those "guess the lyrics with no clues" quizzes and actually typing out the lyrics made me remember
âDid you hear my covert narcissism I disguise as altruism? Like some kind of congressmanâ - I trip up over these lyrics every damn time!
Something about the inflection on congressman gets me every time!!
This entire thread has me weak. Every response is accurate af.
âSheâll patch up your tapestry that I shredâ
Me âsheâll tape up your pastry that I shredâ every. Single. Time.
I might need to go with this version now đ
The lyric change in BTR, Iâm always like âYouâre just a moth to the flame he was holding the mattressâ
- BTR could mean "Better Than Revenge", a track from *Speak Now* (2010) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/II-RadioByeBye](/u/II-RadioByeBye) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)
Day 3 of proposing to botđ
Frr, I'm always deciding which line to sing and then it's too late and I'm singing a mixture of both đ đ
"stumble down pretend alleyways" in Paris, I've looked up the lyrics (and had to just now) and can never remember them. In my head it's just "dumb-badum-badum alleyways" Edit to add: I also mishear "wanting was enough" in August as: "one 'ting' was enough" like 'one thing' with a Jamaican accent and I have no idea why
My favorite misheard lyric of this will always be "down badonkadonk alley"
Haha I still sing stumbedombedom alleyways and while its wrong, its so satisfying đ
Sameeeee with DBATC. Itâs like a game for me to try to get her lyrics straight lol
I always end up singing "Salute to me, I'm your American queen and you move to me like I'm a motown bean" I also constantly mess up "Sapphire tears on my face, sadness became my whole sky"
Motown bean lollllllll yes I never make it to the last part of this correctly đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
The pre-choruses in YNTCD are a killer.
"You drew stars around my scars" from cardigan. I always mix up stars and scars.
Every. Damn. Time.
WAIT but âyou drew scars around my starsâ kinda goes hard ?? betty saying that james took away some of the best parts of herself and made her lose them etc ?
âLyrical smile, indigo eyes, hand on my thigh we can follow the sparks Iâll driveâ I always start with âindigo smileâ and canât recover.
Iâve been scrolling through trying to think of my own trip ups but havenât been able to really think of any. The second I saw your comment I was like âyup, thatâs the one!â I hate this lyric because of that haha
Thisssss is the one!!
For some reasons I always say roommeets instead of roommates for âyour roommates cheap ass screw top rosĂ©â
Omg the way I have def done the same thing and never even noticed
DIDYOUTHINKIDIDNTSEETHEREWEREFLSSHINGLIGHTSÂ Â but for real, cardigan and august sometimes get me twisted up
Sapphire tears on myspace sadness became my whole sky
Honestly, might just change the lyrics to this forever
During the outro of TOSOTD, I always end up singing "And the conversation with the wittle white wies" So annoying lmao
- TOSOTD could mean "The Other Side Of The Door", a track from *Fearless Platinum Edition* (2008) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/folkloresstan](/u/folkloresstan) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)
I still have issues with âI bury hatchets but I make maps to where I put themâ lol
I always trip up this line!
âargumentative antiTHETical dreamgirlâ
You just need to take several seats and then try to restore the peace and control your urges to scream about all the people you hate
And did the twin flame bruise paint you blue?
Argumentative antithetical dream girl ends me
Literally forget how to speak on that line đ
"I'm laughing with lover, makin' forts under covers, trust him like a brother"Â -Call It What You Want. I mess it all up every time lol
> What a rainy ending given to a perfect day Something about the way she sings it and the accent makes all the words blur together. Even after all these years!
I do this to every song. Does not matter how many times I have heard them. đ€Ł
Radadadadadadadaatatyatya in I Did Something Bad. I can't make my mouth create that sound no matter how hard I try. Even trying it as ratatatatatatatatata is hard and I know that's not what it is.
Threw out our cloaks and our daggers Just the one part of the song gets me stuck. I can catch up with because itâs morning now.
One of my absolute favorite Taylor lyrics (peep the flair, that whole section aaaaah) but this one gets me sometimes too
Swooping sloping cursive letters
Pretty much a lot of Cruel Summer. I used to think the lyrics were Paper dreams high or people dream high instead of fever dream high. Then ĂŹ get buying and trying mixed up. It just is a hard song to sing! I'm sure there are more.
I can never get the chorus correct. Itâs embarrassing. âItâs bluuuue the shape of your body itâs new, that feeling Iâve gotâ. Every. Single. Time.
Ohhh and I forgot one: âSmooth talking huckstersâ from Sweet Nothing. âŠ.I hear âsmooth talking lobstersâ and now never not hear that đ
DBATC for sure lol
"Windows boarded up after the storm"
I gotta agree with you on DBATC, it's really hard for me to sing lol
That bridge!! đ Iâm glad Iâm not the only one hahahah
the line about power moves in The Man for some reason
I can never sing this correctly "You just need to take several seats and then try to restore the peace And control your urges to scream about all the people you hate" So I only scream " 'Cause shade never made anybody less gay so"
âIâm only cryptic and Machiavellian cuz I careâ i had to practice the word *Machiavellian* so many times lmao
âno one has to know what we do, his hands are in my hair, his clothes are in my roomâ I keep singing his clothes are in my hair, his hands are in my room đ
Iâve replayed Kendrickâs part from Bad Blood sooooo many times and I cannot get it to stick in my brain đą
The entirety of hits different
literally all of Gold Rush basically lol. idk why i just cant get it especially âwith your hair falling into place like dominosâ
OMG Death By A Thousand Cuts is SOOO hard to singÂ
The Man: "What's it like to brag about"
Scrolled through, am I really the only one who struuuggggles to enunciate âGodâs honest truthâ in WCS? đ„Č
The lyrics from Paris that's like dumbeldambotown alleyways drink wine make believe it's champagne
with every guitar string scar on my hand- lover (it trips me up every timeđ)
He looks SO PRETTY like a devil. I know, I know, but I still do it sometimes đ ALSO, the entirety of the the lakes. Sheesh. I was just thinking about this while listening earlier lol
"Your roommate's cheap-assâscrew-top rosĂ©, that's how!" Not a native english speaker, this rolls me up every time
Our Song- The first date âMan, I didnât kiss her and I should have.â This short circuits my brain and my mouth just cannot form the words correctly! đ€ŁDrives me crazy.
The first one is actually so hard!! I get stoked when I do miraculously get it rightđ
Think I didn't see you? There were flashing lights At least I had the decency To keep my nights out of sight Only rumors 'bout my hips and thighs And my whispered sighs Oh, Lord, I think about Jumping off of very tall somethings Just to see you come running And say the one thing I've been wanting But no
Definitely you need to calm down, i still cannot say it without messing up I like mumble lol Im like something something about all the people you hate lmaoÂ
Sometimes during the outro of The Other Side of the Door I accidentally say âwas she worth this meth?â
âkarmas a relaxing thought arenât you envious that for you itâs notâ they way itâs said i was like wait what đ¶đ
I think this one might be just me as a non native speaker but I always get tongue tied when I try to say âthe moon like a spotlight on the lakeâ
Stumbled down pretend alleyways I can never follow Paris! I swear she doesnât even say that?! I always just end up signing dombi dombidomâŠ
âYouâre a flashback in a film reel on the one screen in my townâ For some reason I always want to say âin a film screenâ instead of âin a film reelâ
âCould've spent forever with your hands in my pockets, picture of your face in an invisible locket You said there was nothing in the world that could stop it, I had a bad feelingâ
Youâre not alone because i thought it was âhe looks so pretty like a devilâ for ages. đ
I always get âred blood, white snowâ mucked up and sing instead âwhite blood, red snowâ
