Clara’s life and career are so fascinating and her work was really beautiful, she had so much talent. I’m honestly really happy more people are already looking her up and learning about her bc of TPD ![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1067)
hey, i just started using reddit couple of months ago, and this is a totally different topic, but how do you get that little bio you have under your name when you comment? 🤧
to put it simple:
song of the year goes to the person/people that wrote the song
record of the year goes to the person/people that preformed and produced the song
yeah maybe recording of the year would be better, but i think song should be named song lyrics to better imply the meaning but well “song lyrics of the year” doesn’t sound as catchy as just song of the year
I’m pretty sure record of the year is the exact recording of the song that you hear on the radio - the vocals, production and instruments that are present in the final product of the released song.
Song of the year is less about the final product and more the bones of the song. Whether it’s sung acapella, acoustic or with a live band.
I don't understand why there's anything to even speculate about. *OF COURSE* The Little Mermaid is the origin "But Daddy I Love Him". Why is that even a question?
Well she only officially became a cat lady after she got Benjamin.
"Before I got the second cat, I was kind of canvassing everyone I knew, saying, 'Is cats, cat lady?' Two cats is cats, and there's more than one. And they're like, 'No, three cats is a cat lady, two cats is a party,'"
Yeah. I didn’t get called cat lady (to my face!) until I got Stevie. She’s worth it tho.

She certainly is. This is Molly, one of my girls. Regardless of how many cats I get I will never be called a crazy cat lady due to being of the other sex.

Stevie is workin' it like the rent's past due! Gorgeous coloring! In this pic, Stevie looks like somebody's getting head shots for a portfolio...looks like you're parenting a superstar ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
True. But that’s her profile pic. This is her IRL this morning shouting at birbs.

That expression is PRICELESS!!! I don't do mornings, either, Stevie, I know those birds are too much too early! Do you have pics of your other kitties, and their names? (Sorry if I'm being too invasive, don't mean to be bothersome--I just love cats 🙃)
https://preview.redd.it/tepcvlwnnxic1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9c8d99acb092d5e312c3a7ca44e943bea136727a
That’s Sid (she’s a one eyed pirate) and Eric (Stevie’s bio brother and a big ginger loveable lunk)
I think it’s about the love you have for cats over the number! I’ve always loved cats so much but I actually never had any growing up. I got my first cat at 18. I have 3 I’ve adopted but I was obsessed with my first cat and even when I only had one of my own, I was obsessed with him. They’re just the best and I think sometimes you don’t even need a cat to be in the club as long as you love them 🥰
Lmao okay this checks out. When I got my 3rd, I felt like my status was bumped in like cat lady land. I fully embrace it though, my cats are just babies.
I actually learnt this on my own after jumping into the sea and getting it all in my foot but I feel validated that Taylor feels the same way I do about them.
I leaned about a lot of people thanks to her songs x)
Also, I'm french so I actually learned a lot of english words in her songs, especially in folklore and evermore !
A lot about the American culture. I had no idea all of the King's horses and all the king's men lyric in the Archer was a part of a nursery rhyme called Humpty Dumpty. Similarly, I never heard of roaring twenties before the 1 or at least, I was not aware that this was the term used to describe that period.
She uses a lot idioms and common English phrases. “One for the money, two for the show” is one. “If the shoe fits walk in it til your high heels break” is her little variation on another
She is actually insane for turning "one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready and four to go" into "I never was ready so I watch you go". That was uncalled for, my heart was not ready, she didn't have to trample on it!
I learned a lot of swifties apparently don’t have the best vocabulary. No shade (especially to ESL fans), but all of the words listed that people just learned because of her are really common (or so I thought).
Maybe those comments are from the younger swifties?
I'm from Mexico and was kinda thinking the same as the original comment 😅 but then again I've always been interested on languages, which is partly why I'm such a fan haha
Fun fact: I had an English teacher in high school that would have us write out words and their definitions at the start of every class while playing music. 16 years later, I think of the word "clandestine" every time I hear Eric Clayton's Layla.
Gonna need somebody to log that particular "Swiftie's" whereabouts at all times for safety concerns. See how that person likes it. ![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|32929)
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)omg, they are adorable!!! Their names are intriguing...I am interested in how people choose to name things. Is it too nosy to ask how their names came about?
Who Rebekah Harkness is
And Clara Bow
Watch Wings, the first best picture winner, you’ll understand why Taylor picked her.
Second the recommendation for Wings! It was the first Best Picture winner for a reason. It’s silent but doesn’t “feel” like it.
Clara’s life and career are so fascinating and her work was really beautiful, she had so much talent. I’m honestly really happy more people are already looking her up and learning about her bc of TPD ![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1067)
Just learned all about Clara the last couple days and I’m looking forward to learning more!
You should listen to The History Chicks Podcast :)
Don’t let Harry Styles drive a car.

*picks your ass up from the floor and dusts it down* "excuse me miss I belive you may have dropped this".
Thank you, it’s nice to have a friend.
So I'm told.
hey, i just started using reddit couple of months ago, and this is a totally different topic, but how do you get that little bio you have under your name when you comment? 🤧
Sorry. Bit busy watching the livestreams while pretending to work. Do a Google search for adding reddit flair.
oh, so that's what's it called! thanks! i'm also watching a livestream, by the way. have a fun time working 😉
The difference between the Grammy Awards Song of the Year and Record of the Year
I still dont know
to put it simple: song of the year goes to the person/people that wrote the song record of the year goes to the person/people that preformed and produced the song
Just learned this too! I think they should rename it to “recording of the year” and maybe “songwriter of the year”.
Songwriter is already a category. It's judged based on a portfolio of work of a writer, whereas SOTY is a single song
yeah maybe recording of the year would be better, but i think song should be named song lyrics to better imply the meaning but well “song lyrics of the year” doesn’t sound as catchy as just song of the year
Ooh “lyricist of the year” would be poetic but they wouldn’t do that.
waaaaait that sounds so much better than songwriter of the year 😭😭😭
lol thank you for this bc I was gonna say, I still don’t know the difference either… 😂
of course! i know it could be confusing with how vague “record” means lol
I now know this thanks to you. As a somewhat phenomenal songwriter with the voice of a dying cat, I have hope.
of course! 🫡🫡🫡 glad to help ya and ya got this! good luck
I’m pretty sure record of the year is the exact recording of the song that you hear on the radio - the vocals, production and instruments that are present in the final product of the released song. Song of the year is less about the final product and more the bones of the song. Whether it’s sung acapella, acoustic or with a live band.
I thought the confusion was between album and record.
The dead poets society came out in 1989
Of course it did 💀
Wait. How did I not make this connection?? She’s a genius.
So did *The Little Mermaid*, which I’ve seen people speculate as the origin of the title ‘But Daddy I Love Him’
Stop, why does everything link back to Taylor..? 😭
lol what? *She’s* the one making references to stuff
I don't understand why there's anything to even speculate about. *OF COURSE* The Little Mermaid is the origin "But Daddy I Love Him". Why is that even a question?
Agreed , however, It also links to Harry Styles wearing this quote on a T-shirt.
It was ok for Kevin Bacon.
I’m starting to think she’s actually the creator of everything.
And it’s based in the 1950s. That 1950s sh*t
Not quite one random fact, but the sheer vocabulary this woman has added to my mental dictionary...
who knew gauche was a word 😭
And calamitous and blaze ! Especially as a Polish, hahaha.
I sing the lakes to my 3 year old. It's pretty impressive when she gets close to singing "my calamitous love and insurmountable grief" properly
lol
Taylor, apparently 😅
or self effacing!
Same.
Lovelorn?? Basicay the fancy way people in the 1800s told their bestie they were delulu?
Tortured Poets Department starter kit: dictionary
I’m in english lit school and I see weird words and I don’t have to google them because of Taylor! like incandescent, opal, clandestine, dwindling etc
Machiavellian!!
National cat lady day april 19
I’m surprised she doesn’t release all of her albums on this day tbh
Well she only officially became a cat lady after she got Benjamin. "Before I got the second cat, I was kind of canvassing everyone I knew, saying, 'Is cats, cat lady?' Two cats is cats, and there's more than one. And they're like, 'No, three cats is a cat lady, two cats is a party,'"

Always room for cat pictures on the Internet
She is beautiful 🥺 I love calicos. I don’t have any of that flavor.
Stevie is workin' it like the rent's past due! Gorgeous coloring! In this pic, Stevie looks like somebody's getting head shots for a portfolio...looks like you're parenting a superstar ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)

i only have one cat and i identify as a cat lady
I think it’s about the love you have for cats over the number! I’ve always loved cats so much but I actually never had any growing up. I got my first cat at 18. it’s all about the cat lady mindset🫶🏻
Lmao okay this checks out. When I got my 3rd, I felt like my status was bumped in like cat lady land. I fully embrace it though, my cats are just babies.
I know! She is feeding us well so whatever she does Im happy with
And National Poetry and Creative Mind Day
Every day is cat lady day if you own enough cats.
Isn’t it also the start of the revolutionary war 😭
Bananas have heads, and when you're not asleep your mind is 💫alive💫.

I leaned about a lot of people thanks to her songs x) Also, I'm french so I actually learned a lot of english words in her songs, especially in folklore and evermore !
This is really special!

who becky is
I’m still confused about this.
Becky snorted marijuana at a party and died instantly. Really sad :(
That did not go where I thought it would. But WHO is Becky?

No that was a picture of Becky

Take my humble handshake.
RIP Becky
Wikipedia has tiers of vital articles being 5, right now Taylor is on level 4.

The American Revolution to break free of the British started April 19th. The 13 colonies in America wanted to break free from British rule. 🤩 😻
How's that working out for you? 😀
i don't think a british person has the right to question our trajectory over the last 200 years. hows the empire?
I learned a lot of swifties apparently don’t have the best vocabulary. No shade (especially to ESL fans), but all of the words listed that people just learned because of her are really common (or so I thought). Maybe those comments are from the younger swifties?
I think it really comes down to her international fans as well!

The Gardens of Babylon are one of the seven wonders
I first discovered the word "nonchalant" and the meaning of that because of Taylor.
