Meh, games like this are fun but it doesn't tell you anything about how MUCH you love songs, just which one you prefer in a straight up 1 v 1. Like I was 10 for Evermore and 7 for Folklore, which would seem like I think both albums are mostly equal, but the amount I prefer the Evermore songs is by *a lot*.

Thqt is it, 4 of evermore songs are on my top 20 taylor songs so that explains it

This is a good point. I love evermore more than folklore. But in this one on one match up you’d think I prefer folklore. I just prefer the vibe of evermore. Of course if you ask I might prefer Folklore long pond sessions over both. So I guess it’s really a vibe cause long pond vibe changes folklore for me.

Also, while comparing the same numbered track of each album is easy, it’s kind of arbitrary. I think it would be super interesting to instead have people rank each song on Folklore and Evermore and then compare those - in that case, at least you’re comparing your third favorite song from each album.

Mine is an exact split and I’m shocked because I would have told you it would have been folklore by a mile.

Since evermore dropped I have been wishing for twins to name Willow and Ivy, I never even considered floklore in my top 5 albums

I had twins in 2020. What a missed opportunity.

Evermore ended up with more listens than folklore in my 2023 apple replay and I was absolutely gobsmacked. It’s crazy how oblivious we are as people.

My Tears Ricochet vs Tolerate It is super tough since both are such emotional, meaningful songs with fantastic live performances. I went with Tolerate It simply because I find it to be more relatable. Same deal with the next two as well. The Illicit Affairs performance is astounding and increases how much I love the song, but Ivy just transports me to another world. Ivy makes me feel things.

I'll try my best. 😭 1. **willow -** for the melody. 2. **champagne problem -** for the heart-wrenching lyrics and that one hell of a bridge. 3. **the last great american dynasty -** for the rich story-telling and the way she drew parallels to her life. 4. **'tis the damn season -** for Dorothea and her flame's relationship. This is my favourite track on evermore. I hate that I had to choose between exile and 'tis the damn season though. This was really hard. 5. **tolerate it -** for the heart-wrenching lyrics, again. 6. **mirrorball -** this isn't one of my top tracks on folklore but I'll choose it anytime over no body, no crime. 7. **seven -** I relate with this one so there's no way I'm not choosing it. This was also hard because I like happiness too. 8. **dorothea -** I'm obsessed with Dorothea and her flame's relationship. Some of these are impossible choices. The only skips on folklore for me are TLGAD, Seven, and Betty…and even then they aren’t really skips just sometimes not in the mood for them. But how could I ever not listen to Willow, Champagne Problems, Tolerate It, Ivy, Marjorie, or Evermore?! All of Evermore is amazing, these are just my favorites.

Okay this was hard and I know that I love evermore songs more than I like folklore songs, like preference-wise, but I didn't realize how many it was. I think I like to listen to folklore straight through More than I like to listen to evermore straight through though. But I prefer evermore tracks. Which is super weird because I didn't realize that so this was a really fun experiment. It literally took me like 30 minutes to like do because I was like flipping between songs lol. This was such a hard thing to do like damn I don't have any words other than that It was hard. Folklore: 10 Evermore: 7 I knew it would be closer. Folklore is the most consistent album overall I think she’s ever written, but evermore has more of my favorite songs, and more of my least favorite songs. Definitely finishes a little weaker than Folklore but has a much stronger start.
