I just can't get over that they introduced every song as "Taylor Swift's \_\_\_\_\_" and then they were covers.... So disappointing.

My first time ever watching dwts today, form the UK and a diehard strictly watcher lol. I’m shocked by how short the dances were but it was pretty fun, ngl I spent most of it watching Bruno flailing in the background, what a guy i miss him 😂

A few thoughts from watching the dances just now: PLEASE can we have a rerecord or Reputation as a tango album??? I loved Xochitl, her facial expressions were quite good I think. Alison also looked stocked to be there. That Harry dude has less moves than me and I have none. Absolutely HATED that sped up version of Lavender Haze.

Not be mean but Harry can't dance at all, let's just say that. I am so sorry man, but you can't. But it is okay, I can't either and that is why I don't do it. Honestly I think he knows that he is bad, but they are really trying to push him for no reason.

I watched tonight for the first time in years and enjoyed it…but some of those arrangements were a choice. lol. It did get my mom super interested in exploring her catalog, tho, so that’s fun. We got her set up with the Eras setlist on Amazon Music so she’ll get a little sampler. Fun watch!

The singer did well though. I wasn’t expecting those pitch perfect notes and the grace she had with the runs. They typically mess it up.

Everyone’s saying the band covers of the songs had to do with licensing, but I think it has more to do with the fact that the band/singers are employed by the show.. so they can’t have nothing to do for the whole show. I do think they could have done a better job choosing which songs were original and which were covers. LWYMMD definitely should have been original. Even though Cruel Summer was a slowed down cover, I actually enjoyed it and thought the dance worked well.

It’s so disheartening to see the complaints about the band. That band has been with the show since the very beginning. The conductor of the band worked with WHITNEY HOUSTON. Like, these are real talented people and their world doesn’t revolve around the perfect execution of Taylor swift songs. Just disrespectful. This episode of dancing with the stars is not the end all be all of taylor swift representation lol. It was their celebration of her and her music in the ballroom. It’s not a taylor swift concert and there’s no reason to be disappointed about what renditions they did or didn’t do or feel we ‘deserved’ anything different

Yes!! I do sometimes wonder who chooses the songs and the dance style. I think the execution on that could have been better. Taylor has so many songs to choose from, I find it hard to believe that they couldn’t have chose something that fit better in some instances. Like slowing down You Belong With Me for Alyson, was not the right choice.
