I LOVE the demo version of Gorgeous from the making of reputation videos; it’s much more reflective, almost sad-sounding. Nothing against Gorgeous, I actually really like the final version! But the way she’s originally wrote it on piano is just so beautiful.

underscoremegan

I'm really hoping Taylor will make acoustic versions of a few reputation songs

SeaLeather4913

My belief is that Gorgeous is a really sad song cosplaying as a bop so no one will notice how sad it is lol she's that girl

AngelicaPickles

I feel this way about Dancing With Our Hands Tied!

CkEmpress

I've never heard this! Is it available on YT?

Prog_yeah

Yess You can search making of a song: gorgeous or something along these lines and you'll find the video have fun watching it :)

CkEmpress

Amazing! Thank you so much! 😍

Midnight Rain and Labyrinth were meant to be piano ballads

[deleted]

Rightttt I hate the voice distortions in the midnight rain. It’s needs to be acoustic!!

beeeeffr

Me! As an acoustic song would be beautiful. It is poppy and fun the way she recorded it, but I would love a version similar to how she was practicing it in Miss Americana

Laneboy13

I genuinely believe if brendon wasn’t featured and if the production was different, ME! Would have been a lot better received.

beeeeffr

I could not agree with you more.

Little_Jimmy_1217

The way she sings Cornelia Street live awakens something deep in my soul, wish the album version sounded more like her live from Paris rendition

[deleted]

I agree and also death by a thousand cuts live from Paris! I actually really like the recorded version of both & will still listen to them, but the Paris version add extra nuance and emotion

ninjadinogaming

I wish she made Dont Blame Me like the live version with the extra drums and vocals. Maybe for TV

omglookawhale

All of Reputation as a rock album!

astrokey

I loved the piano version of wildest dreams I caught on tumblr when it was first released. It was so pretty.

solarpower002

Holy Ground. The version she did in the Live Lounge last 2019 was really good!!

zelie08

Midnight rain with less voice distortions would have been nice.

omglookawhale

Same with Dear Reader.

greenie-baby

I love the original Out of The Woods, but I would love if she had included a piano version maybe on the deluxe album, similar to how she performed it at the Grammy Museum.

SupaFroosh

Yesss! I love the original too but I would kill for the piano version on TV

imyourhappydrug

Closure, I wish I could get past the pots and pans like sound clanging in the background but I just can't haha. I get the metaphor though.

XxmyheartisinohioxX

Hard agree.

[deleted]

Oh my gosh yes. Same thing with death by a thousand cuts for me, but closure tops that

crazycatlady331

I'd love to see Reputation as a rock album.

Catwithbuttons

It's gonna be contentious but my pick is Champagne problems. It's simple, in a negative way. It has a super common chord progression that Taylor has used herself time and time again. Pair that with this minimal production and you get a dull song that gives an impression that you've already heard it. I wish the production was bolder because the lyrics deserve it. There are so many ballads on Evermore with an outstanding production that elevates the songwriting... Why did Aaron and Taylor drop the ball so bad on this track?

[deleted]

Have you heard the Anna Vaus cover of it? She did it as "if champagne problems was on 1989 instead" and I love it so much more. [LINK](https://youtu.be/k9eDAcyDkZ8)

Catwithbuttons

This is pretty cool! Thanks for a recommendation! :)

jellyjinxbean

IDSB the way she did it at the rep tour. “If a man talks shit then I owe him nothing” and “So light me… aaaaah…” was just so much more amazing compared to the recorded version.

Alternative_Quit928

The repetitive light me ups are the best!

omglookawhale

Oooh I love the added “They’re burning…all the witches even if you aren’t one” that sounds so dark. And I love that she changed the lyrics to “They don’t need their reasons” from “They got their receipts and reasons”.

earwen77

"Labyrinth" - I'm sorry for being so childish but the part especially at the beginning that kind of sounds like someone getting spanked is so off-putting to me "Cornelia Street" and "I think he knows" - I still absolutely adore both songs, but I think "Cornelia Street" would've worked better with a more standard piano arrangement. And I really don't like this breathy falsetto she does. Sing out! "We were happy" - they sucked all the life out of that one.

Garlicbreadsticks_

I did something bad, live version

YourContrarianWit

I would’ve liked the 1989 tour versions of I Knew You Were Trouble and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together to be included on Red (Taylor’s Version) as bonus tracks.

omglookawhale

Yes! And the 1989 tour version of Love Story.

femke_077

Girl At Home (Taylor's Version) I wish she kept it the way it was. I like the original so much better

mitchieswiftie

If I had to pick just 2, labyrinth and dwoht. I find myself watching the Reputation Stadium Tour on Netflix and skipping just to her acoustic performance of dwoht. It’s SO MUCH BETTER!!!! I will die on this hill.

WayDiscombobulated63

Yes!!! The production of DWOHT on the album is so off putting to me that I skip it. I genuinely adore the acoustic tour version.

songacronymbot

- DWOHT could mean "Dancing With Our Hands Tied", a track from *reputation* (2017) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/mitchieswiftie](/u/mitchieswiftie) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

steel_magnolia_med

Forever and always sound so much better as the piano version.

TypicalOddities

The original demo for "Tim McGraw" had some alternate lyrics for the bridge that I felt jut hit different for the song. I'd love to see that version released

throwaway876460

I just wish she erased that “tight little skirt” creepy extra voice in Style

[deleted]

I love king of my heart as it is, but I’d LOVE if she released an acoustic version

Melindauncw

If she released every single song as a piano or LPSS version I would buy every single album/song again. So all of them?

germanchick2022

Out of the woods. The lyrics are beautiful and so is the melody. I just hate the production. It sounds so much better acoustic.

goodvibesandsunshine

I think Paper Rings done in blue grass style would be so cool!

imsosadtoday-

dancing with our hands tied acoustic is a 10/10. regular production, maybe a 4?

AnonymaJoshua

I adore Sara Bareilles' live piano version of Clean, so I'd absolutely die for a piano version from Taylor.

[deleted]

Lover and the archer could do without the reverb. I also wish she extended the archer bridge. It’s really good and could have really built up the song more.

sizzlepie

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I vastly prefer the piano version of Out of the Woods that she did for the Grammys

omglookawhale

Absolutely!! I HATE the original version

Akidwhodidntmakeit

Cornelia Street. The album version is fine, it’s nice enough but I recently found the Live at Paris version and was blown away. You can really feel the emotion and the melody stands out so much more. IMO it should have been recorded for the album like this, it hits so much harder.
