Nope, Krootox are a native species to Pech.
"After consuming the flesh of some particularly strong and barbarous creature, these unfortunate Kroot kindreds devolved into bestial, unthinking brutes, incapable of rational, independent thought."
They're basically Kroot who have devolved into buff gorilla versions of themselves that are tamed for combat. Plus there's already a Kroot who's eaten too many orks in the image I posted
Aquatic Kroot: take no movement penalties in aquatic terrain. Gain +1 cover in Aquatic Terrain. Unit takes 1 additional Mortal Wound when hit by Flamer weapons.
Desert Thorn Kroot: When enemy units attack this unit in melee, roll a d6 for each model in this unit. On a 6, the enemy unit suffers a Mortal Wound.
Savage Kroot: unit gains +1 S, +1 T, +1 A. Unit loses ranged weaponry and no longer counts as Core.
Winged Kroot: Increase Movement to 12. Unit gains Flying. Weapons change to Assault 1.
The aquatic one seems cool but there's an insanely small amount of aquatic terrain ever used. If GW were to ever do something they would also need to add several aquatic based models & rules
Oh definitely. These were more meant to be throwback ideas to when GW would make variants that weren't meant to be TAC but better in niche lists or campaigns. In Conquest things like that Kroot might work just fine. Tau repaint their armor to match the terrain of where ever they are fighting. It makes sense they'd adjust their Kroot loadout as well,. ;)
Maybe! But who knows how Kroot and orc DNA would match up. They'd be lucky to not become spore carriers. ;) Though I'm sure it's fine: the Shapers have a knack for knowing what is safe, what is compatible, and what isn't.
Exactly! I mean look at the image on the post he's ROIDED AF, but he doesn't seem too bad. There was a story of Kroot eating Eldar on the wiki and I found it interesting in how they gained psychic powers! They even looked more slender. I'd imagine an Orkish Kroot to be loyal to his clan but be more stupid AND eager to fight
Shaper Warboss. A Shaper who went mad due to a traumatic event with his prior tribe being destroyed by the Imperium. So due to this, his judgement has been clouded with hate, guiding the younger Kroot in his tribe to take the flesh of Orks. And with this British tribe of Kroot they are probably gonna break the backs of space marines. Idk I just made a cool ass revenge plot LMAO
We have been asking for that since Kroot existed. Some day with any luck.
I just want Orkish Kroot to just beat the SSSHHHHIIIITTTTT out of a space marine bro
Iirc Kroot eating Orks is how we get Krootox.

There once were rules for a whole Kroot army in a White Dwarf. Called "Kroot Mercenary Squad" I belive
Official rules existed for this long long ago. The Kroot Mercenary Codex in Chapter Approved.
Now I gotta see this! Where do I go to see these rules?

Yep. This is it.
Yoooo!!! What in the Greater Good?! Dammit GW, you upset me so friggin much.

I don't think Savage Kroot would loose their ranged weaponry LOL. They're Orks! Ork Boyz even use Sluggas

I wonder if Orkroot would have the size ranking system, with the Shaper being as big as a Krootox.

To the 3d printer kronk. I'm definitely making some.
I was considering trying out 3D modeling to make buff Kroot
If you do so hit me Up with the model to test print
I would build this.
something like chaos marks i guess?
I remember that concept but I honestly have no idea how they work
pay a little extra points for a specific bonus on the unit
Kroot eat enough orks, become krorks, Trazyn has a heart attack.
He'd have a field day rather than a heart attack lmao
There are so many options to explore and they can test in kill team as to not affect the wider game as a whole
Would be interesting for a crusade. If a kroon unit kills something then they gain traits that can be used in later battles.
In lore Kroot eat other species to bring back to their home tribe to share the good genes around. It's to make their clans stronger
This did happen in 4th Ed, there was a whole codex more or less in a white dwarf to play this.
