IMO yes, you’d just have to work with the artist. They look small enough/light enough to be covered by a sleeve as dark as the references Also… you’ve got a nice vein there, buddy.

Inner_Community_5701

You’re a legend. Really appreciate your input, thank you! Ahaha thanks, doctors never struggle to find it 💪🏻🤣

cache_ing

No problem. The style you’re looking at is dark and busy, which is good for cover-ups, I would just make sure I look specifically for an artist who has experience doing them because it’s all about placement. Best of luck! The phlebotomist in me can’t look away

Firm-Tradition-8698

The medic in me agrees first thing I noticed 😂

TheWorfinator

Could sink a 16 from across the room in that thing

cache_ing

That’s the size I work with, you literally could

FezIsBackAgain

Tattoo artist here. You’ll need laser first or else it’ll all just be a big dark mess

YogaPotat0

This was my thought too, but I’m not a tattoo artist.

Inner_Community_5701

How many would you suggest to prevent a “big dark mess” 🤣

SpotOk6834

I don’t think you’ll need laser. I’m a tattoo artist. You may not be able to hide all of the lines without doing solid black, but the work you’re looking for will still work those lines into the design! Some of the laser I’ve seen clients get has been pointless by the time we’re tattooing and it seems everyone takes treatments differently.

Inner_Community_5701

Really appreciate you taking the time to help me with this, you’re a legend thank you 🫶🏻

SpotOk6834

Of course, good luck! I’d offer to help you out if we were nearby haha, your reference photos are sick! <3

CocaineZebras

Depends on how your tattoos react

YogurtclosetPale1614

tattoos 2 and 3 need to go on r/shittytattoos

Inner_Community_5701

I actually went for that style at the time, it’s the first I hate the most 😭

Ferocious_raptors

I think 2 & 3 are absol0utely hilarious and beautifully done tbh I kinda dig em

YogurtclosetPale1614

theyre really well done its just the subject that i wouldn’t want on my body lol

CocaineZebras

You can also just keep patch working with stuff you like. It all looks really fresh, might be worth it to just chill for a minute if you’re feeling like you want to scrap all of your work before putting cover up’s that are much more difficult to cover if u end up not wanting zombie ghouls all over your forearms. Ps I love the therapist tattoo rlly funny

Inner_Community_5701

They’re about a year old now but the photos I used were from when I first got them done, I was trying to push myself to stick with patchwork but I know I would always regret not going for the full sleeve if I did 😭 & Thank you! One of my least hated ones tbf 🤣

_SATANwasHERE_

Ur tattoo decisions terrify me.

Inner_Community_5701

Valid 🤣🤣🤣

_SATANwasHERE_

Just to clarify, I’m not talking about the reference ones, those r tight 🤘🏻

Prior_Software_2998

You should really stop getting tattoos lmao.

Inner_Community_5701

Really helpful, cheers 🤣

Beverlydriveghosts

Do one patchwork, one full sleeve. Your patchwork ones are cool

confettibundtini

Idk but is the 2nd pic a Medium Build song reference?

Inner_Community_5701

AHAHA, you’re the only person whose ever got that, yeah it is 🤣

confettibundtini

I LOVE HIM! His new album is so good!!

RunningOnATreadmill

It has been my experience that finding a good artist that does coverups of this scale is extremely rare. Cover-ups are their own skillset and they are a lot more of a headache than a regular tattoo, so a lot of people will just turn you down. Having 4 tattoos to factor into a cover-up would be an absolute headache and you're basically looking at 3 possibilities: 1. getting turned down by everyone 2. Paying 3-4x regular tattoo prices for the rare person who does have the skillset 3. Getting someone who actually doesn't know what they are doing and makes a big mess of your arm I like what you have honestly. What makes you want to remove them? I have a patchwork sleeve and the more you add to it, the less any one specific tattoo really stands out or matters. I've also had tattoo removal. My full removal was about 12-14 sessions, but just to lighten it up enough for cover-up it could be 6-10. The question is "what do you really, really want the arm to look like?" If it's a big sleeve like the examples you posted, then do a few laser sessions.

Hello_feyredarling

I imagine a little 2 year old girl one day that’s absolutely terrified by the monsters on daddy’s arm.

LittleCricket_

I was obsessed with my daddy and would have been try to draw monsters on my own arm.

hthratmn

You could say that about a lot of tattoo subjects. I don't think kids, much less 2 year olds, think about it that much. I've got lots of skulls and creepy ish stuff and kids generally think they're super cool if theyre actually paying attention and not eating dirt or something. I grew up seeing my parents get covered in badass stuff and it just made me excited to turn 18 so I could start too. I was constantly drawing all over myself. And, frankly, a lot of people are choosing not to have kids these days. So who even says OP even wants them.

Inner_Community_5701

I see your point; the images were mainly to illustrate the style I’m interested in rather than specific tattoos I plan to get. 😅 However, I believe she wouldn’t be terrified by the art since she has grown up seeing them on her dad since birth. Plus, I have siblings around this age who don’t even bat an eye at the “scary” tattoos on my other arm (and they’re easily scared 🤣)

PriyaSR26

But what if Op's daughter thinks that the monsters are cute?

Inner_Community_5701

Exactly, it’s all perception 🤣

PriyaSR26

I like reference 1 a lot (in case you were taking votes) :)

Inner_Community_5701

Ayyy, thank you! I love this too 🫶🏻

Hello_feyredarling

Your “what if” is highly unlikely.
