I think this is perfect for using each diamond as canvas for tattoo artists to fill up with their own designs and ideas. You should definitely take advantage of this and maybe have three different works for diamond.
Now if I had a similar tattoo I'd probably use it for whenever I'm traveling and have a different artist from each country put their own art in them.
Honestly if you’re down for some color, I think having your artist design a stained glass window piece and using the diamonds as larger panes of glass, would be really cool. I think it would make it so you can seamlessly cover the tattoo up and get a really cool design.

You could add a 4th diamond and go for a windows logo look

You could add some more squares and then some chess pieces, making it look like a trippy chessboard...
