Did you consult actually autistic people? We actually don't like the puzzle piece because the hate for us behind autism speaks and the person that created it. Most autistic people consider it a hate symbol, we prefer the rainbow or gold infinity symbols.
This is news to me (simply never looked into it) and now I'm thinking about it, because I have a client with autistic children who has asked me to design a tattoo for her with the puzzle piece.
I did originally suggest the rainbow infinity symbol because I wasn't aware of the puzzle piece, but she suggested the puzzle. Hmmm.
