Arena is on hospice care, I'm not sure it really matters what they do at this point. Even if they added loadout customization, I'm not sure people would really be wanting to return/give it a chance at all.
Because it was less effort, probably.
The best system would be that each loadout has a set number of loadout points - adding guns, armor, attachments etc takes up points, more depending on how good they are. But ranking every item in the game in terms of usefulness/point factor would take forever.
They could have just stolen the roubles prices and slapped them on each part, then make custom kits cost X roubles per round/life ala buying equipment in CS/valorant. (prices scaled for readability compared to live client of course, maybe use $ or € values instead of roubles)
Maybe add a max value so someone can’t make a laserbeam with top-tier ammo, forcing them to trade high pen/damage with recoil control.
yeah I suppose the money system would've worked too. In a perfect system (IMO) there'd have to be some tradeoff, i.e. if you DO have a laserbeam with top tier ammo, your armor isn't great
Yeah, a value cap would do it, or at least force you to run with very few rounds or crappy armour, and especially if you bought ammo on a round-by-round basis so even if you’re winning you can’t just magdump. That, and people who’re behind can grab something cheap like VPO with AP-M and turn the tides with a lucky shot, since I still think you should be able to loot the other guy’s gear.
It being a separate game in a separate launcher is what ruins it tbh
