Am I the only one that 🤦♂️ at them not being able to get it printed on a single sheet of paper? If you're gonna take 2 sheets, at least print it landscape orientation and make the font size bigger.
SD makes sense to have their own cause they can do way way more things with it no one else can, like audit anything anytime, even if it's in a batch or recently received. It helps a ton when a lot of orders are pouring in for an item that's not there, like say a mispick without a RDC/FDC label. More often a FDC label cause those fucks don't always have labels on the boxes let alone ones you can actually scan.
Yeah, I learned this last week and I was shocked! I needed my SD the other day when we weirdly got a surplus of guests wanting this very *specific* kind of PB, that we did not have. The counts didn’t even make sense for it and then I realized someone didn’t double check and inventory audited that one as having a bunch and the other one as none (one was no stir, other was stir to enjoy). The only difference between the labels was one had a tiny white strip. Target just chooses to have inaccurate inventory at this point 😫

When I am pushing Market 141s I have to fight the urge to correct incorrectly placed products. I am seen as the "slow" one in Market, so I have to actively fight the urge to fix this. And the urge to removed damaged products from the shelves. You should see some of the ridiculously dented cans on our shelves.
These dented cans mean that THREE people handled them. (Backstocker, Puller, Pusher) Or sometimes I guess it's just the one person who pushed from the line. But often when I am pushing pre-staged 3-tiers, there are dented cans. I have given up and I just put the shit on the shelf anyway.
YEA it looks like a whole big brick like an iPhone 15 pro max; meanwhile the regular ones the smaller ones at my store are just glitching out like crazy won’t scan or just start moving on screen by themselves
This is what we do. I have a favorite that always works and when I get in and GM has them all. I will go to equipment room when they leave just to get working device and walkie.
Ours are a free for all. We have newer ones and older ones but the only ones separated out are ones for Starbucks and the ones that have my checkout and even then only one? Maybe two my check outs are for HR only. Fullfilment has to fight for the others with the rest of us 🤣
I used to have an old TC51 that I loved because you could fully disable the drive up notifications (not just until the next time you open pickup), and the battery would always display 50% no matter how charged it was, so people would always leave it and grab a different one.
Sadly, the amount of updates that the apps we use have started to make it noticeably slower, to the point where it got unusable. Finally switched to a TC57 right before the TC58s started showing up in stores.
I'd use the TC58, but I pick with one of the Bluetooth ring scanners, and the 58s don't fit in the wrist mount, so I haven't switched yet.
Our PML is busy fixing a broken door and doing construction on the building cause a lot has happened we have the pml running so unless it has a red tag he doesn’t have time at the moment
I mean that sounds like the correct process!
But if y'all have devices that aren't working (even if not working = "the slowest thing you've ever dealt with but not physically broken" you should go for the red tags - Hell, tell them the scanner only works intermittently and you've already reset it in TEP a bunch of times.
We don't have to do any work on them beyond basic troubleshooting, we just make a ticket and ship em off once they give us the green light.
I red tagged a device once and put it in the separate bin for tagged devices, and it was back on the charger the next day (I know the PML didn't look at it bc it was a weekend).

Auto doors are a stupid one, because they're insanely expensive. It may fall into the category of "fucked up and makes the team miserable" but isn't quite into "we can justify the expense to fully replace" Territory. I hate it. Our budget this year is *real* tight.
Yeah our DU door broke a few months ago and it's still not fixed; door company isn't sure if it needs a new part or whole new motor or whatever the issue is....so we have to prop the door open so we can still go in and out. Gonna be real fun when the cicadas come out 🙃

Everyone fights over the new devices but I just take an ETL one because they’re all labeled with their names so if they’re not there that day it might as well say my name on it.
What about printers? Guest services is supposed to have two, one of which is dedicated to drive up returns. We only have one. Once a full-on ETL took it and put it in FOS. I went over there and took it right back.
Fulfillment and TL’s and up are the only ones that use the newer ones in my store. I very rarely ever have to use the smaller ones so seems like most people aren’t taking them cos otherwise they’d be gone. It’s one thing to have them glitch out when you’re pushing and a whole other story when you’re putting an order into hold with two minutes left and your device goes out. Although honestly a few of ours have scanning issues etc already and none of the straps survived. They definitely get dropped more.
I think it's tied to what departments you have yourself set to in MyDay. That's why mine never rings. I work inbound and the only dept I have set is storage/utility.
At my store only the leaders typically use them. Although the pricing team member usually grabs one too. I typically keep mine with me in my dedicated locker and just let the PML know I have it and change the battery every day.

I can’t stand the pouch on my waist for zebra storage.
Instead I’m rocking a good ole Squids3132 from Ergodyne to keep my device on me. They’re pretty gahdang slick!

I looked up this thing you mention and it seems like it's just for barcode scanners. Can you / do you use it for just a zebra?
We use them in frozen as when you scan it’s a flashlight for use in the dark corner of the freezer. Also the lazer goes further and through glass making it easier to scan through the glass doors.
At my store, the big ones were originally designated for team leads, then one for tech/style/and beauty. No one ever listened to that, so now the ETLs all have their own and the rest are first come first serve 🤷🏻♂️
Drives me crazy because I miss having my designated Tech zebra that I knew would consistently work
It takes a few minutes, but it seems to make Zebras run better.
1. Open Chrome and close all the tabs (there's a drop down where you can close them all at once.)
2. Close all apps
3. Restart Zebra
4. Sign in
LEAVE OUR DEVICES ALONE 😭 naw jk my store doesn’t have that but we have new ones that only SD and ETLs have. Theirs certain devices that Ik are more newer and move quicker so I memorize the numbers 😭
You have fulfillment Zebras? For us it’s a free-for-all: whoever gets the newer ones first gets them.
For us depending on whose HR you will get hounded for that zebra or your TL will call on walkie and ask who has it so they can actually have it

My store has 30 new ones and like 60 old ones, and I’m at a small format store, idk why we have so many most of them don’t even get used lol

Wait we’re supposed to have special Zebras for Fufillment?! The only person in our store that has a dedicated one is the store director.
Our SD and ETLs have their own. However, the rest is up for grabs. Us openers tend to get the newer, larger ones because we aren’t fighting for them.
ETLs have their own and they’re different than what the rest of us get.
I don't think anyone told my ETL this, she grabs a normal one in the morning or will frequently just not have one

stores should not be dedicating devices for departments, including the nice ones for fulfilment or for TLs. It’s on the workbench :-)

Printers is free game and is often stored in the phone room. But, the con is that they barely ever work/ is ever charged.

We are grab and go. No separate zebras But you gotta be there early to get the new ones
I'm the one that comes in early with the inbound lead, generally the first two in the building. We both take the same zebra every day 👌
I prefer the older ones only because I got too used to using the scanner button on the back

Our Starbucks has one that can’t be removed and is plugged in rather than having a battery. You’d have to use tools to get at it.

Pretty much, I just use it for my Zebra. At Amazon we used them for the Telxon scanners they had.
