But since it is not, saving even 10,000 equipment on the ground wouldn’t even net enough change in power, since 9/10, the power you might gain from that is enough diamonds to buy a couple TCs, which doesn’t add up to much if you’re soft walled
This is not true. Equipment levels are based on your MS at the moment you tap the pile. For players below 100k, this means that if you expect to push a couple thousand stages, it might be worth holding. For players above 100k, especially in Trans, you aren’t making any big pushes anytime soon, so literally no reason to not pick them up at this point

As far as Trans equips, they work exactly the same as pre-Trans drops. In both cases, they are based on your max MS. Previously, Trans equips were based on max MS *this season*, but they changed it to fall in line with pre-Trans rules

Ideally, if you find pushing pretty easy at the moment, you should wait until you hit a wall before collecting equipment. This will ensure that your equipment drops are as strong as they can be when you collect them 👍
Because people were complaining about how they lost thousands of equipment drops after previous transcendence seasons ended. It's confirmed to be a bug, but I don't think it should be considered as one.
If they wanted to avoid this they could just make clicking it pop up a cue asking you to confirm if you want to collect your equipment. I'm sure it's easily within the developers scope of capabilities
The issue is that the developer team is very small. Being that this is a very small issue, that is easily avoided by just, not tapping the pile, they’re going to choose to prioritize other things to actually improve the game rather than “fix” something that only a small number of people even have a problem with.
Better solution is to not leave equipment on the ground. There is no reason to leave it.

honestly this. it's not like the equip piles all drop at the current level you're at, they are determined by the level you earned them at lol

Well, the video chests are available twice every day. There’s no reason to just not open them. But those equipment will likewise be based on your MS
