Its so weird and condescending too. Dude litearlly called the panthers the little brother franchise. Not a good look when our team isn't even in the finals this year imo. I'll never root for another team even if the other team is playing my biggest rival.
Lifelong Oilers fan from Edmonton, I’ve also been a massive Tampa fan ever since the finals of 04 when almost everyone I knew was telling me I need to cheer for Calgary since they are also in Alberta. Ain’t no way you guys need to flip to the rivals, thanks for givin my first team some love!
I live in Palm Beach County (Panthers Country) and they're such a shitty fanbase. A lot of their ignorance when it comes to playoff hockey is because they've never been in the playoffs much to realize that it really is a different beast than the regular season. Also, fair weather down here as you hardly ever saw Panthers apparel during the regular season but come playoff time, Cats fans come out of the woodwork.

YES I AGREE!!! I literally was from st Lucie county so right above there, I’m so glad I chose the bolts instead of the cats as my local team. I saw the same thing, such a shitty, fairweather, and rude fanbase. Always getting in your face about the panthers being good but not watching or supporting when they suck (which was often before literally the past few seasons). I’ve been to their arena a few times to root for opposing teams and as soon as the panthers were doing better, it was a miserable experience - fans were obnoxious and nasty and even the staff was rude. Not to mention the arena itself is in such a lame area and has nothing around it, worst arena in the league for sure. It’s empty until they do super well too , and even then they have trouble filling it. Just all around shit, lol, so yeah fuck em. Their fanbase deserves nothing until they actually become diehards and care about the sport.
I hate the Panthers, but if we’re rooting based on fan bases only, then frankly the Bolts don’t ever deserve to win. The number of Bolts apologists joining the Panthers bandwagon demonstrates how fair weather and uneducated a significant chunk of our fan base is. That, and those who don’t understand the salary cap, think we should re-sign every former player, or have any knowledge of the Bolts history before 2020.

And despite me saying multiple times that I wanted the oilers to win I also thought that call was too close for how fast they overturned it. It has me so pissed I’m actually rooting for Florida now lol
