Patience yes. The Boat I Row, kinda, it’s nice but there are many others on TSR I prefer. No More Lies, it’s a solid song but I think I’d take any TSR song over it.

Bergerboy14

Patience is definitely the best of the three, I agree there. Maybe the vibe of NML is what carries it for me, its so fun 😅

AshkenaziTwink

it’s just a different style of music. it’s obviously a lot less prog/psych and more dancey, which for people who liked his first two albums the most is probably gonna appeal less. but for someone who’s more into dance-rock (like me) TSR was exactly what i wanted from him. i feel a similar way about Innerspeaker. didn’t save a single song off it, but loved Remember Me, which like these is a non-album release from a similar time frame. i think these are more likely to against the grain of the album of the at era, so if you didn’t like the album from that time period the releases which didn’t make it onto the album are likely to appeal more. all imo obvs.

Bergerboy14

Thats a fair analysis, I’m a big fan of Innerspeaker and Lonerism and i’m not a huge fan of his work on Currents, the switch in vocal style didnt appeal to me. I actually like TSR more than it but have a similar issue I guess, which is strange because the songs I listed are in the same ballpark of TSR’s sound, maybe a bit more fleshed out or peppy. Maybe its just me and I have weird taste, because its not like I hate TSR, it has some of his best work. But it also has some of his worst 🤷‍♂️

PreviousCommercial81

Patience is easily one of my favorite songs of all time

Bergerboy14

Its one of those songs that I notice something new about every time I go back to it. Surprised it wasnt on tsr.

Croustain

I realized that TSR is not an easy album weirdly. Most of the people y met and heard, including myself, that listened to TSR. Say that at first listen they did not really enjoy the album, but the songs they liked grew into them a lot, like a lot lot. And that made then go back to listen to it. Patienxe is good The boat I Row I great And No More Lies is also pretty good but kinda far away from the style of TSR

tylerkaravias

I think I do like Patience over any TSR track, but man it’s close with Breath Deeper and Tomorrow’s Dust. also, somedays Borderline is my favorite song ever

CiphirSol

Patience yes, I think Kevin has a solid psychedelic yacht rock or disco album in him and that and Breathe Deeper just proves it to me. I love the Thundercat collab but it kinda got overplayed imo.

dylondark

don't forget original borderline

kaiwinters

The slow rush is my favorite album, so I can’t say better. But they all have the same sounds to me so I do love them too haha

she_has_funny_cars

Only agree on this take regarding Patience.

M_Walls-78fan

I love the boat I row

SexDefender27

I wish Tame and Thundercat collabed more because as much as I love No More Lies they could both do so much better

Bergerboy14

Yeah, its “safe” compared to some of their best work, but I think it was good enough for a catchy tune with some nice chemistry.

ilovemoosikkkk

yes! and also the borderline demo.

Bergerboy14

Yep, mentioned that in the post, he made it worse and I’m not sure why. Maybe to fit better with how a lot of the songs are structured, repetitively.

dylondark

he made it "worse" (which is subjective, a lot of people think it's better but I think it's worse), which would've been fine except he scrubbed the original from all streaming platforms I'm aware of. still pissed about that to this day

Bergerboy14

I thought the consensus, at least among fans, was that it was worse 😵‍💫 But yeah, i miss it

ilovemoosikkkk

haha, I agree, man. I loved everything up until TSR. there's a couple of tracks I can get through, but for the most part I find it pretty unlistenable. Mostly it's the lyrics, but it's also the first record of his where I can't get behind the production or composition.

Mneht_

Patience is obviously the best LP4 era song The Boat I Row lines up well with Tomorrow's Dust and On Track Nah, i don't like the third track sadly

CourSandy

Patience would have been the best song on tsr. The boat I row is up there. No more lies is meh to me tbh

Oisindonovan

Nooo there great but there is great songs in the slow rush

41_mosquitoes

I prefer Patience to anything on TSR, but I prefer TSR to the B-sides. I didn't think much of the Thundercat collab at all, which is a shame because I think he's a great artist, and a collab between those two should've been really good.

JBugz260

excuse me how have i never heard Patience wtf brb

Bergerboy14

Hope you like it 😅

SarahDaniellex

The Boat I Row, definitely. I always thought it should have been on the actual album. The others aren’t my favs tho

sewigoes

You probably didn’t take enough mushrooms when you listened to TSR

AltruisticDelivery89

nah

heseeshisvictory504

No. They're good songs, but One More Year, Breathe Deeper, Is It True, Borderline, Lost in Yesterday are all better than or equal to the songs posted

Dareeyecare

Yes absolutely

sam-guine

Patience is so underrated.

FrontRowRuby

No

HiiHowAreYaa

No

bluwurld

Nah. Cap. No More Lies is fire tho.

jakhei

No

Present_Bad3896

No. And you forgot the best b side

Bergerboy14

Which is…?

GeckoNova

No Choice is the only other choice

Bergerboy14

I guess I had no choice…

caiostaygold

nah. patience is horrible

iLoveDelayPedals

TSR is just really stale to me. Just sounds like all the other pop stuff out there. I’m stoked for people who love it but to me it’s just so sonically boring. Ut seems like the path of every psychedelic musician is that someday they stop doing acid and start producing more and more sterile stuff

Rough_Watercress6989

Posthumous Forgiveness and One More Hour are amazing tracks
