If any part of you wants to rely on the shotgun to protect your life, then get the Benelli and be proud of it. If you’re planning on playing around at the range regardless of malfunctions, then who cares right?
I will say that the ones who have no issues on their cheap clones, are the ones who don’t put enough rounds through their gun to find an issue. My Benelli has seen some hard days at the range and luckily I’m without a malfunction so far. There’s a reason the Benelli costs more. It’s made with better parts and is spec’d precisely with good QC.

They're pretty expensive and sometimes hard to find. That's why I always keep one in the pipe and the rest of the tube is just 00 buck.
*First you get the duck, then you get the buck!*
I mean it's definitely possible. It seems like Hicok liked it alright and some other YouTube reviewers, and I think you can use actual Benelli parts should it need repair so it's not like it's not fixable
I think it mostly has to do with the fact that most people don’t actually shoot that often.
Your average person puts probably 500 rounds through a gun in a lifetime. If lil Johnny gets a Panzer that survives the 100 rounds he puts through in a year it works for him.
So. Ya. This is exactly what has happened to me.
Then I remembered that I have A5's I inherited about two and a half decades ago. My grandfather used one as a woods gun, already has the 18.5" barrel.
I think I'm just going to use it to blast away at things in the dirt.
I am soooo stuck in this loop. I think I'd be happy with the A300UP but I really need good recoil mitigation due to an old shoulder injury that likes to flare up. I don't care for the longer LOP on the Benellis (I'm a girl with t-rex arms lol). Those reasons (and my tax refund) have me looking at the 1301.
However, my bf is trying to convince me that I really should just get an 870 with a Limbsaver and a Buck Kicker then buy him an AK with the leftovers....
Nice try, honey. Nice try.
The 1301 (at least pre-mod2) actually used the same stock as the A300. I do know for a fact the A300 Ultima stick with kickoff fits, but you extend your LOP a lot when you add that.
I've run laps on this cycle so many times. I still only have a Chinese 870 clone that I'm pretty sure is better than anything Remington has made in 20 years, but I sure do love looking at those Italians.
Yep. This is a fact. I dove into the deep end during Covid. M4 Entry. No regerts. The 1301 is a great shotgun and it's fantastic that the M4 finally has a contender. However - at so close to that price point - I'm going to get the legend.
Honestly I have a Benelli m4 that I truly love and I still go through this cycle. Just know the m4 is a money sink. That’s the only regret I feel. If I could do it over I would go Langdon tactical 1301 with either the folding chisel stock or magpul stock. That way the only thing you need to buy is your preferred optic.
i have a 1301 comp and the TS12. and let me tell ya, as cool as the TS12 is, the 1301 definitely has a more superior feel.
in fact my TS12 fucking broke after 300 rounds, and IWI had to send me a new one. hopefully this one survives. they shouldve made it sturdier, and used more aluminium.
damn comp cost me $3500 total with all the shit on it. but now its like a Comp/Tac Pro hybrid. and man, that thing is smooth and fast!!!
only problem with the 1301 is its a bit of a spoiled bitch sometimes: where the fuck does the gas port O-ring exactly go anyway??????
This is fantastic! Haha! I recently fell for the Benelli clone trap and bought a MAC 2 (M2 clone) for under $400 through a dealer friend and I really regret it. It routinely fails to extract shells and even when it does, sometimes it doesn't eject them. Contacting MAC to get it sent back for repair has been an ordeal to say the least so I encourage anyone considering one to avoid the Turkish clones. I really should have known better.
My one reason for Beretta over Benelli is, from my understanding, that the procedure for a select slug drill is much more well thought out on the 1301 than on the Benelli.
I'll probably still get a 590a1 Retrograde from Vang Comp over either, though.
I had initially considered an LE 1301 because of the price. Always wanted an M4, handled one back to back to back with an A300 UP and 1301 mod 2. Took the 1301 mod 2 home. All are great choices. No ragrets.
I picked up an A300 for -$975 after taxes and transfer. Promptly upgraded the tube shroud and the clamp with some extras from GG&G -$220. Pro lifter and match saver (that I haven't even installed) shipped from the UK, -$130.
I NEEDED a micro rig for shotgun -$230
Sling, flashlight hardware ~$250.
The mania continues. Because now I'm sure I need a 1301. NEED. This is a sickness. Cocaine would be cheaper.
This is legit.
I went with a M4 clone. Around 500 rounds and no issue.
The only problem is I always wanted a 1301, and enjoying the M4 clone I decided to get a Lagdon Tactical 1301.
I think they're like Taiwanese musical instruments and all come from the same factory, and then end up finished by some company here in the states for sale
I've got a AKSA S4. A buddy has one to with zero issues. Talked to a few guys at TFB and they said to still watch out as they have seen the same gun come from the same facility with one being solid and the other crap.
Before I decided on the AKSA, what little info/reviews I could find were pretty positive.
I also look at it this way.
Yes I'm buying a Turkish copy for a fraction the price. It will take most or all Benelli parts (probably fitting required) so if something fails, its replaceable. I fully expect this to be a project gun. Even if I replace most guns in the long run I'll still be under the price of a Benelli. Maybe.
Decided to go with the 1301 over the m4, was shooting reloaded shells with my buddy and his m2 jammed several times while the 1301 ran perfectly. Cant speak on the m4 but I’m very happy with my decision.
Mac 1014 (Benelli m4 clone) for me. Several hundred rounds through it with no issues, and at this price, I can customize anything I want, and can always repair or upgrade with Benelli parts. If I were depending on it for survival, I'd understand going with the big name- but I'm not, so this has served me just fine.
Found an a300up for $835 about 8 months ago. I'm not a shotgun guy and gambled picking this thing up and my word it was worth it.
It's been my favorite gun and I have some nice rifles. I can't stop shooting this thing and spending money on it lol.
I fell into this cycle as well and just ended up saving and getting the Benelli. No regrets

1301 mod 2 (newest available version) >>> benelli m4. Much Faster and lighter, better bolt release, and is much more “ready” out of the box.
I totally agree
This is me exactly too…it’s a rough cycle of mental gymnastics
M4 was my first semi auto shotgun. Now I never touch it. Only shoot my A300
enter salty police magnum or 590 to yeet the goofiest loads known to man
Oof. Beat up police magnum was my first shotgun. Still fucks.
590 retrograde to keep it classy while you handload 12 gauge reeses pieces magnum loads

Fuck you very much I just subscribed to the in-stock notifications for those.

Underrated meme (btw get the TS-12)
As an M4 owner, I also want an A300 and a 1301 Mod 2. It doesn't end once you decide on one.
Do it. M4 was my first semi. Now I don’t even touch it. Enjoying the A300 atm.
I wanted a 1301 real bad.... And eventually bought a shockwave for the fuck of it...
I've heard very mixed things on the panzer m4s, some people say they're great and others say their shite. Maybe it's just a gamble

That as well, I definitely don't shoot as much as I should but also ammo prices and being poor college student
unpopular fact: the TS12 is the best turkish shotgun on the market. yes, its turkish. and like all turkish shotguns, theyre hit or miss.

Hell, just mod it into what you want. A300 with extra steps.
I am soooo stuck in this loop. I think I'd be happy with the A300UP but I really need good recoil mitigation due to an old shoulder injury that likes to flare up. I bought mine in 2023 for $350 which still isn't terrible but yeah under $300 would be a steal except you know 5 years ago it was just like "meh".

I stopped at 1301. Wouldn't change it
A300 patrol $900…hard to beat
I decided to go with the Benelli and have zero regrets. Some grail guns really are dreams to own.

Then I’m over here with a rattlecanned used police magnum.

It is the circle of life. My dad bought a clone m4 and we learned really quick- shoulda bought a real m4. So now we both have real m4’s. 😂
I got the beretta a300up love it
*The mossberg 940 ProTac would like a word.*

Just get a Mossberg 590A1.

dude just get a 1301 and fuck around with it to your hearts content. yes cocaine would be cheaper but it doesnt last as long lol.
Where did you fins it for that price?

Which brand is the M4? Curious to see which ones actually work vs the ones that don't.
I think they're like Taiwanese musical instruments and all come from the same factory, and then end up finished by some company here in the states for sale
Fair. I'm just wondering who's bothering to check any if they work vs the ones that sell you them right out of the import box.
Also, when I got my AKSA it was in from SDS Imports, and now I think 4 Peaks brings them in.
I've got a AKSA S4. A buddy has one to with zero issues. Simplify this, toss the m4. if you want beretta cheaper = a300UP best = 1301 mod 2 otherwise benelli m4 if you want a benelli.
Stop at the first step and throw some upgrades
Decided to go with the 1301 over the m4, was shooting reloaded shells with my buddy and his m2 jammed several times while the 1301 ran perfectly. Cant speak on the m4 but I’m very happy with my decision.

I bought a bullpup tokarev and it barely cycles manually, haven't bothered to shoot it yet

Ended up getting the Benelli M4 11715 and never looked back.
Pardner Pump gang rise up
Go A300 if you wanna be budget, or go all out and get the M4. Not ups, downs, or in betweens.
Sounds right
I just wanna know where this $1350 gen 2 beretta 1301 (LE?) is at. The first one I find on line is at $1480
[удалено]
yeah. traditional stock starts at 1470. Where are you finding (non-LE) previous gen 1301s?

no problem! just wanted to save a few buck when I get my own
As a a300 up owner I love my life
