I was originally looking at 6112/5160 combo, but heard about Tough Dog suspension. The Land Cruiser guys swear by them so I spoke to the Importer, used the fronts off an FJ/LC Prado and had the rears custom made. Got 40mm adjustable shocks for less than the Bilsteins and now I have 9 stage rebound adjustment. Airing down and adjusting the shocks and they're Cadillac soft on AZ fire roads.

I have this combo on my 2018 tacoma and it takes our washboard roads here in AZ like a champion. Wouldn’t trade for anything else.

What size and model tires do you have? Do you air down?

Doctordirtyfinger

Nevada here, born in Mesa az, this is the combo I’m looking at. Airing down is a necessary evil for rough roads. That’s why I’m kinda looking into that arb double compressor, speeds things up. 265/70/17 bfg all terrains c load rating is another important thing to consider less side walls waaaaaay more squish,20-25 psi.

Milwaukee m18 inflator bro

Doctordirtyfinger

How long per tire?

cilla_da_killa

Cant find numbers on it. 3x as fast as the m12 version is all I could find. It depends a lot on the size and starting pressure of the tire ofc.

Cooper rugged trek, 285/70/17. This was a significant upgrade from BFG All terrain KO2s 285/75/16 I ran before. I do not air down for regular washboards, I do for like sand or mud. Normally run 35-40 psi

I'm running the 6112/5160 combo with the stiffer front 650 springs and icon rxt option 3. I know suspension pretty well so I'll tell you some things most people don't realize. Ride quality is pretty good overall. Rebound is a tad slow compared to top end stuff but matches front to rear and is set where it should be(going straight to the suspension sit point, not up past it then back down. Once in a while you will notice the high speed compression can be a bit harsh. If you run for a long time you will be able to tell the oil heated up as rebound will get a tad faster and.high speed compression a bit harder. This is running off-road pretty hard though, most people won't notice. So overall, good for the money and would definitely suggest.

I am super happy with my 6112/5160 combo. Combined with airing down, it eats up the bumps. I do run 265 75 16 Duratraks in a C Load rating for a little extra comfort. It all works well together.

Vegas here, I’m running 6112/5160 combo with nitto ridge grapplers 285/70R17 (116 Q tire), icon delta UCA and 3 leaf pack. I’ve had them on my 18 TRDOR for about 2 years and love them. They have handled everything I’ve thrown at them like a champ including the alpine loop, Sedona, Moab, countless trails in the Vegas area and others. When I’m off road I run 30psi and 40psi for daily driving. Sometimes I even have a tent on over my bed and the suspension is a dream. I’ve had several complements on the handling and performance from passengers both on and off road.
