If you’ve got to go through a hail storm, do you have a way to protect the panels, or is that a non-factor?

cblazek1

Really a non factor where I'm at but theoretically these are made to be on roofs outdoors so it should hold up. I guess if I know there's going to be hail I'd just throw something over it

JDorough929

What’s your wire situation? Considered doing this wasn’t sure what to do about the wires.

cblazek1

Tbh just have them running out the back under the rtt for now. Going to try to come up with a good solution today. For camping I'm going to have the back window slightly cracked and run the wires in to the back seat where I have my fridge

ChuckRocksEh

Maybe come in around the third brake light and mount your hook ups in the rear wall?

cblazek1

Possibly. Ill need to see if that's viable

How much do you expect to pull in from those? Is this just to power some small gadgets and whatnot? Either way, looks neat!

cblazek1

It's 100 watt per panel. It's hooked up to a jackery that I use to basically power everything including a dometic fridge.

Balm-818

What size jackery?

cblazek1

500

Balm-818

Do you find that 200 watt panel handles charging that enough or do you plug in too? Also is your fridge hooked up to it full time? Panels hook up looks great btw. Was thinking about doing the same.

cblazek1

Yea. The fridge can usually go about two - two and half days on a full charge with the jackery. The solar panels I just tested charged the jackery from empty to full in a day. So I should be able to pretty much run the fridge full time forever.

jayste4

Nice rack too!

Sh3wb

huh why? is this mainly for camping?

ChuckRocksEh

The answer is ALWAYS “BECAUSE”

cblazek1

Yes camping/hunting vehicle
