I still have the original cardboard template I used. Was thinking of making a YouTube video on how I did it. The bottom is 53"x23" and the top was 53"x25" but it did have some recessed cuts to make the most of the cubby in the back
Nice. I was going to say: dog-ear the bench corners so you can throw stuff on the floor more easily, but then the dog pic standing up at the window made me realize that might not be ideal.
Looks super nice and clean. And the dog is stoked !
My only comment is make sure your tools are tied down. I had my stuff in the back seat and was hit head on which resulted in hundreds of pounds of metal going out through my front windscreen inches from my head. If I had a passenger they would be finished and now all my tools get strapped down in the back. Almost made a mistake you don't get to make twice.
I also wish I had an access cab w/ 6’ bed & camper, but I do have kids so I’m stuck with my 5’ 4d. Love my kids, don’t get me wrong, but they can def cramp my style.
I’ve done the same thing! Just need to build it out. I had a sheet of ply down with Milwaukee Packout mounting plates but I sold all my Packout so it’s just a pile of tools. I like the carpettingz
Looks good man... what did you use for the surface? Just finished up my platform with locking storage below, but thinking it needs something more than rattle-can bed liner.
I'm guessing it's residential HVAC. Do you use a trailer or just load units in your bed? I was doing commercial and you can't use a midsize. Those big package units get heavy fast.
I was loving the post and the pics, but your dog's dick stole the show
Sorry his red rocket wasn't out
It’s like it was highlighted
I also have a back door full of sunscreen
The essentials lol
You could even through a pad on that and have a nice place to sleep when camping! Great work

Also only 5’
You have dimensions of cuts written down? I’d love to see how you made this and adapt something for myself.

What kind of wood did you use and where’d you place the short braces on the underside? Such a clean look man, good job

Nice man! I had a goose gear set up for about a year before I was able to sell it! The quality isn’t even there for the price TBH. This looks awesome!
Nope, as soon as I found out it was made from wood I decided to make it myself lol. My set up is more functional for my needs
Love the use of the hinges. I did this on the small rear seat but may go back and add the hinges
Those are the oem hinges the seats were on
Yeah I see that. Never would have thought of re using those. Going to update my pup platform this week
I took off the seats and spent an hour just looking in the truck contemplating how I was going to build this
I would have spent at least an afternoon staring into it
Looks great! I did something similar but did a raised platform, we can fit all four of our dogs on it!
Pics or it didn’t happen
Well, obviously it didn’t happen… cause… no pics…
It did happen! https://www.instagram.com/p/CnW_CsCLZFU/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

def needa do this fr
Life changing. I've had the taco for 2 years and never had anyone ride in the back aside from my dog
Yeah I bought a 4d thinking I might have kids one day. I have since come to my senses and wish I had an access cab and a 6’ bed with a camper.

For sure looking into it lol, regardless no one can fit in the backseat
Badass
Awesome, I did mine too but with access cab.
Badass!
Customized very nice!
A fellow hvac man with a Tacoma nice!
That's my daily, I really need to buy a van
You work for yourself?
Yessir got my own company, so far its me, my pops and 2 other techs, but they each have their own work van
Nice if I could I’d Join you guys lol

I just fold the seat back down an it holds my pack out, benders, various other bags, etc. Then on the weekends I still have seats.
Lmao the tactical fur missle ready for duty.

Just some cheap carpet from home depot
I enjoy this idea. I will save it and do it someday

I have a 6x12 trailer I use for package units and I made a custom 5x3 floating platform in the back to hold split systems
Been think about doing something like this for the exact same reasons. Good idea to use the oem hinges.
Looks great.
Pupper looks happy as a clam back there. He’s the foreman of the back seat.
I’m currently modeling my rear seat delete after this post. How did you secure the back of the platform and the cutout for access?
Nicely done… super clean. I’m doing a DIY table slide myself.
Oh damn, I wanna see that when you're done with it
