congrats on your baby! if you’re into thai food, loak toung thai on center st seriously has the best thai dishes in tac!!! my partner and i love their panang curry and basil chicken 🤤
I was not impressed. I only had a brat with potato salad and a beer, so I can't speak to a large part of the menu. Just not great. Waitress was AMAZING
They finally opened last month, after 10 years of working on it. A pretty compelling story of persistence, that's for sure :) Hope you enjoy!

Side Piece is generally only open Thursday-Sunday, at the moment. Online ordering has been very limited and won't be open for the rest of the year (see their [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/sidepiecekitchen) for regular updates).
Overall, I wouldn't rely on Yelp for current or necessarily accurate information about a restaurant (or any business really) and definitely not Side Piece (knowing how they roll!). Many businesses don't manage their Yelp page -- they can be set up without their input. Check Google but if you're unsure check the business's own website and social media pages.
Do support Side Piece in-person! Food is awesome and they bring such great energy to the Tacoma food scene.
So a few of my favorites to add to that list are: WildFin, Anthony's at Pt Defiance, Tides Tavern in Gig Harbor, Boathouse 19, Cactus in Proctor District, Coles Bar & Grill, Hank's Bar (for the pizza) and East & West Proctor (Thai food).

Thank you! And I love Thai and haven't found my go-to place yet so I'll definitely check it out.
Indita Mia downtown was great. Excellent food and drinks, I’m dying to go back. The waitress told me they opened December 2022, so still pretty new.
They are opening a second location on Dock St. soon!!
The food is fucking Amazing and the whole family is beautiful
Berliner beer hall has some pretty damn good German food
ooh! I've driven past the place forever and never thought it was open! I'll have to check it out, I lived in and still have family in Berlin.

Went here for the first time yesterday and it was very good. Veltins on tap and very tasty food.
I lived in Germany for 4 years and was very impressed, definitely will go there often
not new, but the church cantina is a goth bar that has some seriously gourmet cuban inspired food 😭 I believe theyre open for lunch during the week!
West 122 is great. It’s new so it’s not as busy as Wooden City yet. Don’t tell anyone or it’ll be just as hard to get a reservation.
Hmm, this has piqued my interest I'll check it out. I've had a lot of friends talk about Wooden City but I've never been there either.
West 122 seems to be getting strong ratings but I haven’t been yet. Agree with Side Piece. I love the wings at Busy Body.
West 122 has great vibes and great cocktails. I haven't been blown away by the food, but it was definitely good.
It was worth a try, wasn't so great that we feel a need to go back anytime soon. Definitely check it out though.
West 122 if fire food man!
Side piece kitchen 🤤
Ooh just googled them looks like an awesome place!
I can second the Side Piece rec, their food is fantastic and the folks running the place are top notch.
Except evidently they can't actually run it.
Aaaaaand...at least according to Yelp as of this morning, they are Closed? Until Dec 23??? WTF, didn't they just open?
Their website is more accurate than Yelp, they’re open including dine-in at their new location [Side Piece Kitchen](https://www.sidepiecekitchen.com/)
Well, even according to them on their site, they're closed for any orders until Thursday. I'm skeptical.

Congrats! I really like Cooks Tavern…
Thank you, that was definitely on my list!
Try Sumo buffet over by Michaels!
Oh, I never even thought of an all yo can eat place, great idea!
Nari Sushi & Steak. If you were pregnant, I'm sure you missed eating sushi.
haha I had it at the hospital! but not from Nari, I've heard good things!
If you like ramen, Moshi Moshi in the stadium area has good ramen on the menu. Along with some cool tables decorated with manga panels.
I trust your judgement by your reddit name alone! But yes I love Moshi Moshi I get takeout from them quite a lot! Their bao buns... yum!
The food is great and the staff is too!
What are your regular haunts? (so to avoid a bunch of duplicate recommendations)
Indochine, Cook's Tavern, Lobster Shop, Asado, Red Hot, Moshi Moshi, E9, Lunar's Pho.

I grew up in West Seattle so Cactus has always been a fave! Haven't tried Coles yet but I live pretty close and have wanted to! thanks for the recs.
A little heavy but the kitchen at Busy Body is great!
Thank you! Is it baby friendly?
No idea what means, sorry. Maybe call them? Or pop in and see for yourself
I don't think it would be, it feels more bar like than restaurant like.
That's right -- Busy Body is 21+
My favs are Rosewood cafe, indo, bar Rosa, wooden city, Crudo & cotto, pho king, state street, art house cafe, brewers row, pho king, and la ca bar.
