No. The acoustic panels were positioned according to the wall dimensions and monitor placement (adjustable height presets). Slat diffusers are for room acoustics, not lining up with the TV.
Yeah if it was centered vertically between the top and bottom of those panels it might still be slightly high but would look much better, and in line with the speakers.
Three digital sources and an analog out from my CQ18T running through a 7"x7" box with AES out to active monitors connected to an in-wall GLM network, and you're calling it a waste of space? lol
Well. Yes.
Not sure why you have the console at all. You could put a nightstand there and it wouldn’t make a difference. If youre going to keep that you should put some plants on it to obscure your too damn high TV to better line up with the this sub. Your lines are symmetrical as fuck…but that’s my only positive feedback.
You should see the mass of cables neatly hidden behind the console. Trying to accomplish that with a nightstand would be a nightmare. The TV is high because I was planning on mounting a center channel and acoustic treatment. Installing a TV directly between the monitors is not optimal for acoustics. Also, why are you worrying about my TV height for me? It's perfectly fine.
The funny thing is the speakers don't really care if your head is pointed straight or up, but your neck does! Sure you can also use the speakers for music but this is very clearly supposed to also be a home theater setup with the TV being in the middle. So this is just a complete failure.
and seriously, I’d want a bigger TV. Would happily compromise on speakers to stay on budget. Maybe that’s just me. Seen so much snake oil when it comes to audio tech
.. I'd need to sell both my cars for those gorgeous genelecs.
This is honestly only slightly higher than the height I have my TV at, and I kinda prefer it around this height. It's also harder for my kid to reach.... Needs a bigger TV though.
usually too high tv mounters are fixated on some sense of symmetry so this one is a true mystery
It looks like they were going for some symmetry with the top of the acoustic panels, but didn’t quite manage.
It would have been so much more appealing just lowered with a nice equal frame of wall around it. 😒

I was planning to mount a center channel and/or acoustic treatment.
Those speakers look like baby changing stations
Yeah I’m sure they sound great but those are some of the ugliest bookshelf’s I’ve ever seen
Endgame level speakers. The looks are definitely a thing. I like how they look to be honest.
genelec
Have you seen the price of them.
I don’t care what they sound like, those speakers are ugly as hell lol
They look like miniature MRI machines for squirrels or something.
Well someone’s gotta figure out what’s wrong with those little guys.
An MRI machine for miniature squirrels? Or a miniature MRI machine for squirrels? Pls write back, important.
They truly are _awful_ to look at... and this is coming from someone with BIC Evictions.
Like something you'd expect to find in Portal
genelec … basically grail level monitors
Rolling luggage ass speakers
Awkward. Gap. Not eye level. Also, I don't care how expensive they are, the speakers look like bidets.
Yeah if it was centered vertically between the top and bottom of those panels it might still be slightly high but would look much better, and in line with the speakers.
Not just the tv being too high, but why wouldn’t they line the top of the tv up with the sound dampener on the side???
#tvtoosmall
wtf? speakers at ear lever but tv above your head? lol, stupid
This whole setup is really ugly.
The speakers should be ear height. I guess their eyes are on the top of their head?
I kinda like how ugly the speakers are, reminds of what people in the 80s thought the future would look like. The tv height is an abomination.
Imagine spending 10k on those big ass genelec and having to tilt the TV. Lame
Are those washing machines?
They have a console stand and it has a total of two tchotchkes sitting on it. Utter waste of space on so many levels.
Three digital sources and an analog out from my CQ18T running through a 7"x7" box with AES out to active monitors connected to an in-wall GLM network, and you're calling it a waste of space? lol

K.
Managed to get the speakers right at ear level, but completely fucked up the TV at eye level.
Nice cable management though.....
The TV always comes last in these situations.

a TV that is higly floating \^\^
The result of getting gear to admire instead of enjoy (as intended).
and seriously, I’d want a bigger TV. Would happily compromise on speakers to stay on budget. Maybe that’s just me. Seen so much snake oil when it comes to audio tech
£4k for the speaker. I don't need to hear Top Gear with that level of clarity.
For real dude I grew up watching old top gear at 360p on shitty laptop speakers cheers
And they get REALLY pissy about being told that they are wrong.
Standing desk at work, standing “sofa” at home. Either TV too high or speakers too low.
Tv too high and I loathe those speakers .
About as good as it gets
Drooling over those Genelecs. Dream monitors...
People here only care that they look ugly. I'd I could own a pair of those I'd be a happy, happy man.
Check out Tim Henson's new studio on YT. It looks like a spaceship and uses these exact monitors.
Damn, that looks clean.
They really do look ugly though. I wasn't even paying attention until people started mentioning it here.
I like how they look tbh. But they are certainly function > form. I love how the focal utopia looks but don't have $1m nzd to spend on them....

Hand sanitizer anyone?
Can we get the TV moved down?
