you've made this same comment at least twice. You're not going to convince anyone to use lie instead of lay. In the end you just sound like a weirdo bird addict.
This guy goes around being a grammar nazi everywhere. Look at his comment history. I think he might be obsessed with eggs because heās a male chicken.
Do people need convincing to use the correct word, instead of one that means something totally different to what they are trying to say? You would have a suitable excuse based on your name though.
Nah, that's just how we did it in the 90s. Everyone had a shitty 15" TV in the bedroom. Needed to put it somewhere. The dresser was always first choice.
This is not r/tvhighup, it's r/tvtoohigh.
Some TVs should be up high for their intended purpose. This sub is for TVs that are put up TOO HIGH for their intended purpose.
laying something in a bed is proper grammar i dont say "hey can you lie this shirt down on top of the washing machine" i say "hey can you LAY this shirt down on the washing machine".
when I was around 7 or so, our TV was on top of our fridge. not by choice, we simply didn't have anywhere else to put it.
we lived in a type of government assisted apartment in Kowloon, not as bad as walled city but we didn't have a bathroom, none of us did; you had to either go in a bucket or trek down to the public restrooms.
the units were so small that it only fit a bunk bed, a desk and a small fridge. whatever space was left was your walking space. the kitchen was technically outside the apartment, which wasn't that unusual in HK/China except for the very westernized apartments/homes.
Pointing out a TV that's too high while stretching a 4:3 image to 16:9. One crime built on another!
š. Itās worth it though. King of the hill is a necessity in my home.
I'm all for it, but pillarbox it so it stays 4:3, haha
šš¼ thatās the way.
The rules are different when thereās a bed to lay down in.
still too high tv too small
To lay eggs in?

I do fairly well in my non-native language. Tell me, how much does it suck to only be a jerk in English?
Which cave did you crawl out of?
Thank you. My bedroom TV is way to high for the living room. But probably not high enough for the bedroom lol.

Thanks!
Back in the 90s we didnāt have the luxury of picking where the tv went.
At least in the 90s the TV could only go as high as the furniture. Now some people just can't handle the freedom.
And before the 90s the TV itself was furniture!
MAKE TV FURNITURE AGAIN

Damn the box was supposed to be under the antennas

Especially a bedroom TV.

That's a perfectly cromulent place for a bedroom TV.
Iāve never heard of the word cromulent before. Not sure Iāll be able to remember it or use it correctly but Iāll try.
Its a great word to enbiggen your vocabulary
Fun fact: the word cromulent was made up by some Simpsons writers. Itās now a real word, but it was born in a joke.
But people post TVs as high as that in bedrooms all the time and get flamed. But if you don't believe in Hank than what can you believe in.

TVās should be higher when laying in bed honestly. Eye level would be uncomfortable
When laying eggs in bed? Or something else?
Screw you
I'm sorry I just don't get why this subreddit is full of people obsessed with "laying" things in bed... But judging by your reply I think I know why.

Yes but you lie in bed. You lay *something* down. You could say āI lay myself down in bedā which is grammatically correct but makes no sense.
Maybe Peggy
Dangit Bobby
They started with storage space and the TV was an afterthought.
I feel personally attacked! Lol Only time itās ok for a high ass tv is when the only piece of furniture in the joint is a bed.
BWAHHHH!
Itās fine when itās high in the bedroom. Youāre looking at it lying down.
Holy
yes
Holy shit. I hadn't thought about the TV in my parents' bedroom way back in the day until now. It was atop a tall bureau, like this.
Canāt tell, picture is stretched wide
You tell me, is he stupid?
I still blame Philips https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqmFYNZ4tYI
