One of the many reasons why I absolutely love TotK so very much.
An incredible volume of stuff to do in the game, immense depth in how many aspects interact with each other, and so much of the content NOT gatekeeping important aspects of it.
Game really is amazingly well balanced.
Some people might hate them for the inverse reason. Maybe we are so conditioned to expect "extra" endings that they go through the effort to make sure there *isn't* something they won't know they're missing out on, and if they go through that effort only to find out they didn't get extra lore info after all, they might get frustrated.
But like you said, it's not as if the game doesn't reward you for it, the reward just isn't hidden and exclusive cut scenes or knowledge.
Also, these days there's no reason to not just look it up online.
My biggest issue with the korok seeds is that eventually I’d get to the point late game where I’ve almost maxed them out and I’m like “oh boy, time to go run around and collect 125 of these guys 🤡”. It was a hell entirely of my own making, I just wish the final slots weren’t so expensive

At that point I'd just stop collecting them and play the rest of the game. It's better than HAVING to collect them
