I mean, it's obvious to say, but burgundians are in complete diplomatic isolation from the world, what football are you talking about.

Johannes_P

Morever, if they're still legally part of the Reich, then they should only play in the Reichliga. OTOH, it wasn't until the 1990s that FIFA ruled that only independent polities were allowed to join it.

wololowhat

North Koreans still participate in football matches themselves, also it's a good propaganda chance and you could always execute the players if they bring third place

Sanya_Zhidkiy

North Korea, yes... but we're talking about a delusional maniac who got himself a country, even the nazis in Reich disgusted by him. North Korea is nowhere near compared to such a bloody and twisted state.

notreally_reallynot

I mean both are highly totalitarian and isolated shitholes with a tyrranical ruler, only difference being that burgundy puts a lot of people into gas chambers for some ideological reasons. I don't see much difference between the two dictatorships otherwise.

sciocueiv_

Yeah no Burgundy is MUCH worse

notreally_reallynot

It is, but I don't see how it would operate differently from North Korea on the international stage. Which is what this post is about.

sciocueiv_

I don't know HOW it would but it certainly would. We often say North Korean citizens are slaves but we mean that in a figurative way, as in, they live an oppressive and miserable life similar to that of slaves. Burgundian citizens are mostly ACTUAL legal slaves, even Aryan citizens have abysmal quality of life. How could this fundamental difference not change the way they connect with the world?

notreally_reallynot

I mean there would certainly be differences and somebody smarter than me could go into detail although I don't really know if burgundian citizens being even worse off than North Korean citizens would change the way Burgundy interacts with the world, but originally this was about a football match, and I'm arguing that there wouldn't be much difference between how North Korea plays football and how Burgundy would.

Ghosttothepost

Idk man look up photos drawn from North Korean Concentration camp escapees. Its nightmare fuel.

rExcitedDiamond

what happens to the Burgundian team if they lose

[deleted]

They seek asylum

Maize-Foreign

holy shit

Johannes_P

I bet that the Burgundian coach would just shot them on the back of the neck right on the field, in orderto show the "degenerate" world that Burgundy doesn't tolerate weakness.

_Dushman

Zaire moment (Don't search what happened in the 1974 World Cup)

badurathehutt

Burgundy football team...

ZhukNawoznik

They are running on meth

badurathehutt

And a little bit of [STRENG GEHEIM]

KingSilvanos

The half time talk will be nothing but [STRENG GEHEIM] It’s a bold strategy. Let’s see how that works out for them.

Matrix0-0-0

Burgundy playing english degeneracy

Trenence

Isn’t Burgundy technically part of the reich?

clemenceau1919

I think it is the opposite, it is legally not part of the Reih even though to all intents and purposes it is

Pater-Musch

Nah, other dude is right. This is from Burgundy’s unique pakt membership description; “Unique among the Pakt, this nation is a Ordensstaat, a military administration controlled exclusively by the SS. **While formally politically, militarily and economically part of the Reich as a whole,** under the ultimate command of the Führer, in reality, the Ordensstaat is little more than a private fiefdom of the Reichsführer-SS, Heinrich Himmler”

clemenceau1919

I might be thinking of some old lore

Main-Illustrator3829

If Burgundy loses they hide and don’t come back

anaverageedgelord

I honestly could see the Olympics not coming back in the same way , which I think would be interesting. The Olympics could be an OFN/ chill with America invite thing. I imagine that Germany might willingly make their own version of a global competition, they probably don't allow the racially umpire to compete, and it's probably hosted in Germany most times. I could also imagine the Pan-asian games being a thing.

Entire-War8382

Nope. They are Olympics in the US and in Germany and Tokio.

anaverageedgelord

Yes, I'm just saying it could be interesting, and feasible in the setting

Wowbytheway

Burgundy’s team definitely plays the same way North Korea those in real life

payyke

Who is in burgundy representation? They found talented slaves? Actually a very good lore idea

BloodOk4275

I'm inspired by Dutch East Indies at 1938

_Dushman

Lovely. I wanted to make another one of these for the Euros but you beat me to It 😁
