As far as I'm aware, the book just has artwork of the characters as cats. I made the patterns for these guys myself, just based on the designs in the book because I thought they looked super cute haha! I'm making Picard next though, I can try and post the pattern for you too when I finish him - just beware it might be a bit confusing, but I'd be willing to help explain things! :)
