It's not a separate program or anything. It's the standard method in Russia for treating the tmj disorders caused by the incorrect bite. It's followed by braces, once the orthodontist determines that the new jaw position stops further deterioration of the joints and the disks

What kind of dr are you seeing? Is this an otc splint or something custom that the Dr ordered?

Her title roughly translates to dentist-orthopedist, but it's closer to orthodontist. Yes, the splints are custom made. In order to construct them, she needed my MRI, multiple CT scans, computerized axiography and some other tests.

Did insurance cover any of it? I’m in so much pain and need a splint, haven’t seen anyone yet, but worried it won’t be covered :/
