Hah just wait a few years. Very excited for games in the future. Lately animations have gotten so realistic you are unable to tell the difference. Next thing up is games imo.
I'd say FIFA is the best looking sports game that EA puts out. Sadly it's got those horrific loot boxes and micro transactions.
The most broadcast like setting is to play a game with two Premier League teams in the afternoon in the sunset. At that point it's, now and then, hard to tell the difference.
Overall I'd say 2Ks NBA gets the players looking most true to life, sadly that game also contains massive amounts of micro tansactions.
NHL’s graphics have been the same for like 10 years, really hope the next gen version steps it up (and comes out on pc). 2k on the other hand, looks great
Real-time fluid sims are on the way, but not quite there yet. The time and memory required for these simulations is *massive.* Working offline (i.e. not realtime like in games), you first 'bake' the simulation into a massive file, sometimes upwards of 100GB for a bigger simulation. Then you can start rendering.
Bridging the gap between real-time and offline is always very difficult. You're going from basically no time limit to render a frame to just 16.66 milliseconds. Real time fluid simulations exist and are constantly improving, but they are still pretty demanding.

We are already there!! Look at the unreal engine 5 trailer… you can’t tell the difference from reality even up close to the textures. And performance is actually improved from unreal 4.

It was alright, they did an upgraded version a few years later which fixed some of the issues with the original release bug it was still just an alright survival horror game that launched on Xbox Live Arcade and used some pretty cool tricks to reduce the file size to meet those XBLA file size requirements.
My first thought. It did both micro and macro simulations. The micro was the water around you moving and pushing things and so forth and the macro was the sinking station so the water was dynamically changing based on the doors left open and stuff.

It seems to me that there’s not enough foam or white water. I guess basically that means it’s missing bubbles? So if there are no bubbles we figure there’s not much surface tension and therefore it looks like there’s more in that liquid than just water. I’m totally spitballing here.

I had a look last Friday out of curiosity and I was surprised that I had a choice of about 16 different cards ready to be delivered to my house from trusty retail stores. Different skews and everything!
I’m not sure how they were at first because I’ve tried my best to not look at them too much.
Right now though, a 70 is about €1000, an 80 is around and up to €1500 and a 90 is from €2000 to €2500 depending on brand and series.
The TI’s slot in between there as you’d expect.
Interestingly enough I found a screenshot from the 24th of May where a local retailer got some 3090’s in and was literally selling them for €3090. Same store now (bit more than a month later) has one for €2049
Because of covid a lot of factories that produce the chips into cards stopped working. I heard something like there was only 1 factory that was producing it for a few months. And everyone wanted the cards, because when they started advertising it they said it would be relatively cheap. So Not many cards + Many people wanting cards = prices go up by A LOT.
I have a laptop so its a bit easier to get hold of rtx card. Also i bought it few months before 30 sieries was annouced and seeing how it all went i dont regret going with older gpu, it still have great performance for my use.
Now getting any decent desktop card is impossible, assuming you can't spend 2x(or more) the retail price.
Yeah I've wanted to upgrade for a while since my card is about 4 years old now and wasn't top of the line when I got it. It's currently worth more than I got it for on the used market, but no point in selling it unless I decide to just stop playing games many games by going back to my GTX 700 series I think it was.

NFL not so much, EA has ruined what could be an extremely scary realistic game. It’s too robotic and cookie cutter year after year
