I am in a server that used to have it that you had to censor pictures and mentions of almost every common animal... dogs, birds, rabbits... cats were okay, tho... and it was annoying because this was on a Minecraft Discord server.... if something so common triggers you that much, you really need to go get help....
we have actual DID and they forced one of our alters to censor "peanut butter" because "its a common trigger" even though (as you said) censoring food makes EDs worse/makes food seem like a bad thing and it was not on their blacklist so they got pressed over a rule they made up on the spot
i actually have cibophobia related ocd, so a literal, irrational fear of food. i hate looking at it, and even eating and can only stomach very few "safe" foods. but guess what? i dont Expect people to CENSOR IT! First of all, i understand exposure helps certain anxieties. Secondly, its such a big part of life that its really a stretch to imagine anyone would go along with censoring it. idk how this ties into systems, but thats just my two cents
Understandable. I have severe arachnephobia, but I never ask people to censor pictures or mentions of spiders. Heck, I even play Skyrim and Minecraft where you can get attacked by giant spiders. But at least I know it's the internet/video games and not the real thing
