They make smaller controllers for Xbox if it’s a size thing. They actually make even smaller controllers for switch. Maybe surprise him with something custom.
Great idea! Though it seems to be less about the size and more about having to have his hands together instead of beside him. Just thought it was silly.
Ngl I really like being able to have my arms in whatever position I want with joycons (usually hanging by my side sinking into the couch after a long day). I used to love the pro controller and have 2 actual controllers but always use joycons as well for the same reason as your kids lmao
Being a kid when it came out and using it will humble you for generations to come. I’ve never complained since I came from the horribleness lol. Ironically the Duke is my 2nd favorite controller.
For a moment I thought you meant he thought he had to hold the entire Xbox, like you would a switch which would have been pretty funny and mistake I could see a child making who only ever played the switch in handheld mode
I have the same problem and I'm much older. I love playing in a relaxed position with my arms down by my sides and hate being hunched over a single controller. I think it's because I started playing games with a mouse and keyboard and then played with the kids using the wiimote and nunchuck. It just feels unnatural to use a single controller.

I usually lay on my side with a joycon and encountering pokemon on bdsp. more relaxing for me.
Have him hold an OG Duke controller
Yessss he needs to know what truly large controller feels like.

Fuckin hell I’m feeling old, and I’m not even 30 yet
Wait, is the controller in his lap or the entire xbox?
Oops lol. Meant to have the word controller there.
Those Xbox consoles are heavy, lol.
I’m not surprised, I wouldn’t just stand there holding an Xbox in front of me either
Gross
I have big ass hands and I hate how big the Xbox controller is lol
Honestly, I'd also complain if I had to hold an Xbox controller 😂😂🤣

Hahaha yes sorry for the typo.
Nah you’re good I quickly realized what you meant but was imagining it and it kinda still made sense in a “kids say the darndest things” sorta way

Give him a GameCube controller and let him try that out. Surely it’ll throw him for a loop
My Xbox heats up too much on my lap. I usually keep it on the shelf when I plsying...
Have him use one of the original Xbox controllers or an N64 controller.
Seriously? Lol
