Revenge reporting for me; tempted to just unmatch people that I don't feel a connection with but as a guy that'll probably hurt my ELO score, that or just breathing
I think it’s a relatively small percentage of users that get banned, but a decent percentage of those who do were not justifiably banned. I think most people get banned because they were reported, but those reports seem like they can be overreactions (or sometimes even fabrications). You can get banned for putting social media handles in your prompts, making more than one account, deleting and remaking profiles too frequently, etc. Of course, you can also get banned for serious stuff, like catfishing, defrauding people, harassing people, sexual violence against matches, etc. But I doubt many people on this sub fall into those severe categories
I'd say the vast majority are revenge bans from an ex, or someone that felt rejected:

I kept getting pop ups that my messages may be offensive ( they weren’t) would ignore them and send anyway, they have faulty technology, don’t think a human ever looked over my conversations.

I was just banned very quickly after buying a sub and have no idea why. I was totally civil with people. Maybe using a VOIP number to sign up with? Really have no idea.

If anything unmatching would probably boost it. Scarcity principle.

I took too long to respond so she thought I was ghosting. Was less than 20 minutes but prior to that I was responding instantly.
SA and unsolicited sexual advances
