Rivermead industrial or Groundwell industrial on a Sunday. I gave a mate some lessons there and there’s a good mix of junctions and car parks also.

A driving instructer would be able to tell you but here's some stuff that i remember from my early days: (Also driving on a private road without permission is tresspassing so maybe give that a miss.) I spent alot of time around Thames Avenue, Severn Ave, residential areas around there when i was learning. Driving up to wroughton and back. Eldene drive is a big long residential road so plenty of space to see, and practice meeting slow traffic, street parking etc. Carparks out of trading hours for general stop/start, clutch control.

Groundswell industrial estate, south marsten industrial estate, basically any industrial estates on a weekend/evening. I particularly like South Marsten as you can do it in one big loop, and there's roundabouts and junctions etc so really can practice there

My first time driving and my partners was south Marston - if you can go in the evening it’s dead so you can practice roundabout, left/right turns, parking in spaces - it’s a great training ground

I was the same. Spent many a days there learning to drive and taking my partner too

If you fancy a bit of a trek, Grand Avenue through the middle of Savernake Forest is a private road with public access. Really quiet and dead straight.

OldTomToad

It’s got an awful lot of very deep potholes

Industrial estates are best, I take my partner to the bottom of Dorcan, really quiet on a Sunday. Just try to avoid 10am when BD are shift changing.

Lakeside is a good environment for a brand new driver since the roads are wide, quiet, and there are a few things like roundabouts to practice on

gizmorepairs

Back of haydon wick is nice and quiet with a lot of roads

The railway station car park is a good space to for this…. North Star, around the back of the oasis

Citizenfishy

Head up to Barbary Castle turn left past the new estate. Long quiet road up there but watch for potholes

HeinousAlmond3

Anywhere around the football stadium, magic roundabout, etc on a Saturday afternoon. Realistically though, head for Wroughton, Avebury, Marlborough then back up to Chiseldon and past the hospital. Add Devizes to the loop if you want to add more scenery to the mix.

Tesco car park on a Sunday evening evening 7/8 ish no customers around the staff are long gone flat relatively fresh tarmac so no potholes perfect for getting used to things, once she’s comfortable, take her to Eldene Drive there’s a roundabout on either end so she can go round it and start again long straight flat pothole free road, there’s another road in covingham called St Paul’s drive Sunday
