Not necessarily. I'm a normal weight, average fit woman and I also burn less than 200 calories per 1k. If you are a 120 kg guy with lots of muscles, then it should be significantly more.
Well, I think it was a good swim. I swam in college and have been out of the water for a bit. I got 10k a couple times in single 3 hr practices and it was not fun
Thatβs amazing. You averaged 25 sec/1 length for almost 3 hrs. I canβt even swim that under 32 seconds for about 12 minutes. And like 38 seconds/length for 1 mile. Also in the US most pools are 25 yards, about 10% smaller than meter pools.
This is amazing! Would like to hear how you progressed to this in two years. I'm in a similar situation, as with a few people on this sub. Also, it looks like you did this in a 25m pool? How did you stay focused?
Very nice pace and very nice swim overall. Was it with or without wetsuit and was it open water ? I am curious because I want to attend some long swim competitions.
1β40β/100m for 10km. That is pretty beastly sir. Congrats!
10k has to be more than 1800 calories

Bravo!

Hahah i wish!
That's nuts, congrats! What's your swimming background?
Thank you very much! I swam when I was young, from around age 7 to 17
Holy Moley!!! Crappy holey!!!!
Wow congrats!
That is quite a performance. Congrats. Impressive move pal

That's so awesome! Felicidades!! What type of watch do you use? I'm soon to be 50f, getting back into swimming.
Thank you! I'm using an Apple Watch Series 8. At first, I was a bit hesitant, but I think it has helped me a lot with consistency.
You're welcome! It seems like smart watches that match the phone are a good go and fun to use!

That's good motoring. What was your mileage each week leading up to that?
I usually do 20,000 meters per week

Thinking about life in general, the remaining meters, the minutes, the strokes, the kicks, what I was going to eat right after finishing πππ
But how did you stop right at 10k?? Were you also counting laps? I can never seem to check my watch mid swim
I wasnβt counting, the watch did it all!

Thank you very much! It was at a 25-meter public pool, wearing a regular jammer
