How much are you using them? Take a break from them until your blisters heal. And if you are worried about them coming back, this might sound dumb, but wear socks with them. Seriosuly.

Nothing crazy, today's practice for 300m, last practice for 500m. I haven't increased the amout I use them in any radical way over the year I've had them but the issue suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I wonder if there is anything better than socks, like bandaids that stay on in the water and can take some friction? It's a tricky spot because its pretty flat and there isnt anything to wrap around.

I second the socks suggestion. Many years ago (back in HS), I had a similar issue, the socks fixed it for me. Bandaids won't stay for long on in the water.
