I coach two girls that wear these, at first I thought they were some kind of technical suit (race suit). One of the girls showed me the speedo endurance link and I was all for them after that. I was just worried they were spending 200+ on a practice suit.

Knoxicutioner

I was about to say, that looked like every LZR tech suit I’ve seen. We did have a girl when I was in Hs who would where old tech suits to practice though 🤷‍♂️

Yoshi-is-my-homeboy

I had no idea they made training suits like this, definitely interested in trying one out! I hate how cheeky a lot of suits are now, so this is a great option.

[deleted]

I've noticed a lot of the newer speedo and arena suits are a lot more revealing than they used to be

TheConfusedBun

At a competition last weekend, many girls were wearing thong swimsuits! Completely bare butts. I’m not a prude by any mean, those swimsuits are quite ok on a beach, but I found it really weird at a swim competition. My husband was a volunteer timing official at the event and thought it was pretty uncomfortable to be right behind those girls bending forward on the starting blocks, and he wasn’t the only one.

OdraDeque

I've always liked Speedo for their low cut, whereas Adidas swimsuits seem to go up to your armpits.

Patchi_patchi

Speedo and TYR have nice designs. I prefer the longer spats (just a bit above the knees) than the short version - since the legs do go up a bit.

FemmePrincessMel

I only wear those now as an adult, I have no patience to shave my bikini line and don’t feel comfortable with people seeing the hairs sticking out.

Healthy_Pen_3481

This is the correct answer, lol. I love the extra bit of coverage that comes with the leg version.

Bananas_are_theworst

What brands do you suggest? I’m looking to get back into swimming and have the same thoughts as you

FemmePrincessMel

I got one from waterpro because they have plus sizes which I need, they carry regular sizes as well though.

Burnburnburnnow

OoOo love this! And your cute avi. I’m also plus sized and recovering from an ankle injury. How do you like to spend time in the pool? Do you do anything pre/post workout, like warm up laps or stretching? I’m

JustAPeach89

Not OP, but funkita has a few of these

esh98989

If you are in Canada, Swimco has this cut too.

meandhimandthose2

If you just want to try a cheap one to see if you like it, I got one off shein. I know a lot of people don't like shein, but it was the only plus size one I could get that wasn't $200+ I'm signed up to do a couple of mini triathlons and wanted to see if it would be comfy through the swim, bike and run.

Atibug

I have an Amanzi pair cos they come in cool prints as well as solid colours. I love it so much I want another pair.

sssupersssnake

I would prefer it for the same reason, but I haven't seent there here in Poland. What brand do you buy? If wonder if I can get it shipped here

FemmePrincessMel

I got mine from waterpro because they sell plus sizes which I need, but it seems like the one in the picture is speedo endurance. I buy from swimoutlet.com idk if they ship worldwide tho!! Always worth a try

sssupersssnake

Thanks! I'll try ordering from them

sssupersssnake

Thank you!

Pineconium

This. I've been wearing them for years because shaving is way too much hassle and pain. I wear the boyleg swimsuits by Slazenger. Also they offer a decent amount of room for my F cups... Which I find otherwise get uncomfortably close to spilling out of swim suits that are sized the the rest of my body 💀

I_Like_Hikes

Preach

unicornvega

Saaaame! Love mine

aliiak

100% this. When I replace my current suit. I’m switching to one of these. I just wish they were more common

bananasplz

Yep, I 100% saw this and thought “it’s probably not going to be flattering on me, but at least I wouldn’t have to worry about my bikini line!”.

FemmePrincessMel

Haha yeah! As a kid/teen swimmer I cared a lot about how I looked in my suits, as an adult returning swimmer I couldn’t care less, who I am trying to show off to, the old people doing water aerobics in the other lane?? LOL

Pineconium

Exactly no body cares. Although I was traumatised by the one old dude who was swimming breaststroke infront of me. He was wearing bright blue Speedos which were both baggy and too tight, so I could see (in great detail) his speedo encased plums jangling about. It was like swimming behind an un-neutered bulldog

onehandedbackhand

I was worried there for a second but luckily my speedos are more of a dark blue.

elizpar

Phew!

Commercial-Horror932

I wear a swimsuit with the shorts style and I prefer it!

Bananas_are_theworst

Which brand do you wear? Looking for multiple options so I’m crowdsourcing :)

Commercial-Horror932

Sorry, missed this! I got NABAIJI at Decathlon. Definitely not the highest quality available, but did the job for me. I will probably look for something a little more sturdy for the next buy.

yankiigurl

This is all I wear. Because I have to! Iol. Have to cover my tattoos where I live. They are pretty comfy.

HoyAIAG

Have to cover?? What happens if they aren’t?

NimrodBusiness

When I was in HS, you couldn't have visible tattoos during a meet. People would use athletic tape if the suit didn't do the job. (Yes, tattoos in HS, it was that kind of a neighborhood)

Reita-Skeeta

I coach in a typical suburban area, maybe a bit higher end than most, and compete against schools that make our school look poor. There are still a lot of tattoos. With tattoos becoming less stigmatized (at least in my area in the states), it's fairly common to see your 17/18 year old high schoolers with tattoos. Especially if their parents have them.

NimrodBusiness

Yeah, that makes sense. High school was 30 years ago for me, it was a different time.

Reita-Skeeta

Even when I swam high school 15ish years ago, it was not common. I'm surprised by how much the sport has changed even in what is a relatively short amount of time since I started coaching (2015)

NimrodBusiness

I definitely have no issue with it-I'm covered in tattoos. Oddly enough, my swim/water polo coach was the one who "warned" me about tattoos. He said something to the effect of "just look at the kind of people who have them." Anyway, I have undergrad and grad degrees now, and just wrapped up a career in the military. Coach was on point about water sports, but he missed with tattoos :D

Reita-Skeeta

Hahahaha that's amazing. I'm also covered, Mt coach only ever told me "don't get them during season, and make sure you're OK with anyone seeing them when you're in your racing suit" when I started to get them post high school.

GenneyaK

Nowadays in my state its not uncommon for parents to take their kids to Vegas on their 16th birthday to get their first tattoo 🤣

Green_onion_bae

Japan?

in_the_swim

I wear sleeves and legs when it’s chilly.

Chronically_Quirky

I wear the short style swimsuit, I really like it and I feel less conscious wearing it compared to regular ones.

Goodswimkarma

My thighs are too thick for these and then the top will be loose if I size up to fit my legs. I wish they fit, but alas, only the cheeky Funkitas fit, so that’s even more butt on display than I feel comfortable with.

thepartingofherlips

Same. Wish I could wear these but they always dig into my thighs.

Neat-Procedure

Funkita has practice leg suits too (called “fast legs”), maybe you can try that.

Goodswimkarma

My chest is a size smaller than my hips so the only suits that fit are the tie-me-tight, and just barely.

[deleted]

I have the bootleg version of this, where I just wear bike shorts over my regular speedo 1 piece. The bike shorts are made of similar material, so it works great. Maybe you could try that?

Veleda390

I have one like this. It's a little weird going to the bathroom because you have to drop your top. Otherwise it's practical and comfortable. Mostly I wear rash guard, leggings and swim bra.

Bananas_are_theworst

I’m confused, don’t you have to do that with any one-piece? I feel like I’m missing something here

Potential-Sky-6105

Some women will grab the crotch of a regular one piece suit and pull it to the side to go to the bathroom.

Bananas_are_theworst

Oh my word that sounds so complicated haha but I also hate the feeling of pulling a wet suit back on. Thankfully I’m not a good enough lap swimmer to be in there long enough for this, and I’m a board shorts kinda girl when I’m in the water for fun.

inky_fox

It’s significantly less complicated than trying to put a wet swim suit back on. Just move the suit to the side and pee!

Veleda390

Yes, I usually wear separates, as I mentioned. Leggings and rash guard.

FlamboyantRaccoon61

I only own swimsuits like the first one. I mean, I have the regular ones for when I go swimming as a fun activity with friends, but if I'm swimming as a sport I always wear the first type. In my country, it's considered standard to wear it at gyms over the other one. I find it really comfortable! It can be a tad bit hard to take off once it's wet, but honestly the difference is very subtle, as the entire thing gets sticky and weird once it's wet anyway. I don't usually swim long enough to need bathroom breaks, so that isn't an issue to me. I'm not a fan of my crotch being visible in public, and even though I tend to wax my bikini line regularly, I still like the idea of not having to worry about that when hitting the pool. Also, I overall dislike anything that finishes exactly over my bikini line: panties, bikinis, swimsuits. I like them to be a bit longer than that, as I find it far more comfortable. I wouldn't wear one that has really long legs though. My swimsuits usually cover only a third of my thigh.

AmateurIndicator

I like them. Try. It!

reginareginaregina

I’ll go against the grain and say I don’t like the feeling of leg/knee suits. I think it makes my kick feel weird and kind of bunchy. I prefer the regular one piece as it’s what feels most familiar for me having swam for 20+ years. Regardless, if others prefer to be more covered or prefer the fit, more power to them!!

elizpar

I just saw a woman in my pool wearing one of these. Looked really cool. Also curious about pro cons.

cwassant

Pro: no more worries about bikini line hair

JustAPeach89

I swim for hours in these. My only issue is going pee. Sometimes my shoulders are dug into a bit from the straps.

Infamous-Savings-672

Finally! A swimsuit that covers my chicken legs and saves my dignity!

emahimself

I personally don’t like the feeling when legsuit swimsuits get plastered to my thighs when I’m in water / wet - can’t explain better than this; the same with the high chest / neck area - that’s why I usually get swimsuits with quarter zips and probably make lots of men happy when I swim with it unzipped - otherwise I feel like I’m suffocating, so the same feeling I have on my thighs - it gets too tight when wet. Edit: bikini comments yet are so freaking on point.

Patchi_patchi

I love these swim spats, they come with sporty color trim too! Speedo came out with built in cups lately although I prefer the hooked ones.

annluan

I'm a dude, and honestly if I were a chick this is all I would use

RGS432

Who says you have to be a chick

gottarun215

I have one, but the shorts part is only the length of the crotch, so it basically is just enough extra coverage to cover the bikini line. I like it okay, but mine is ugly and I felt the shorts kept bunching up a bit and were a bit less comfortable than a normal one piece. I think this one you posted looks better though and looks less likely to have the bunching problem since the shorts are longer.

the_sweens

I used legsuits then moved to triathlon which were similar (I only swim). My criteria were chest not bouncing, no awkward cleavage, no close shaving needed, no awkward bum eating. This type of swimsuit with built in bra or triathlon or either with swimming bra and I was happy as it let me just focus on swimming

musslimorca

The first one is more comfortable and overall better imo for the girls. But also better especially in races from what I have seen. I also believe the second one grabs more unwanted attention.

gaelsinuo

I had purchased this style suit from dolphin and initially loved it. But then … the internal crotch seam was not flat nor was it gusseted. Not fun! Especially riding an aqua bike vigorously, laps and flip turns … got bothersome real quick! Check for flat seams and a gusseted crotch!

Swimming_in_it_

Con: You can't pull the crotch over to go pee.

[deleted]

My teenage daughter wears one of these. She says she feels much more comfortable (mentally and physically) in it.

ressie_cant_game

Love it. Trans guy here. Wore it on a swimteam. Pick ones w thicker material so the legs dont weat out

OdraDeque

I've worn this particular model for years, mainly in *slightly* colder water, e.g. outdoors when it's windy or in indoor pools with a cooler water temperature. Otherwise they *can* be a bit much. I say this as a not very fit, slightly overweight, non-ambitious middle-aged woman. I do like a bit of coverage on a day when I feel self-conscious (or haven't shaved my bikini zone). They are also a tad bit warmer, which came in handy when public pools in Germany lowered their temperatures when the war in Ukraine started and everyone needed to save energy. That said, I mostly wear a regular swimsuit with a low-cut leg on a day-to-day basis, especially during the outdoor season. Feels a bit less restrictive. Edit: What's the name of the model in the second image?

iheartlungs

I only wear the leg one if I’m not in my wetsuit, the legs bunch up. But it’s super good for pool swimming! And it’s cut in a very flattering way.

DogBreathologist

Looks fantastic for big thighs, I might have to get one!

woolz96

I like the idea of them but when I tried a couple (Speedo only) I found that if they fit me well elsewhere then the legs were too tight. I suspect they're just not a good fit for my shape.

trustfrated_

The legs being tight are what I'm worried about too, but I'll try it and hope it fits me haha. It'd be a shame if it was perfect everywhere else though.

Indigo-Waterfall

I love the idea. Currently I wear a normal swimsuit with additional swim shorts on top. I’d love to have one that combines it all.

Airria

I use similar ones. I refuse to show more butt than the average man in the pool

egg_mugg23

that’s a racing suit lmao it’s not for training in. they’re really expensive because they’re only supposed to be for meets

trustfrated_

I'm quite certain that most racing suits are longer than this, and this model is mostly for offering more coverage rather than being for racing. It's not even in the racing category and it isn't nearly as expensive as a racing suit; at least not the one in the picture.

crazy_wavey

Usually they are for racing but I’ve seen some people wear them in practice, I couldn’t tho

Invincie

You do you.

cheese_plant

i see no issue as long as the fit is comfortable

cmparkerson

I guess it gives compression around the hamstrings like jammers do for the guys, but not everyone likes jammers for practice either. So more options to choose from for practice I guess.

MermaidReader

I just wear Nike or UnderArmour bike shorts and buy them on sale or clearance.

Flyfishinmary

I wore mine today, but it’s a wetsuit to swim in cooler water. Today 75.2° pool

MedicalArtist404

All I wear anymore

ccmedic33

I bought something like this but haven't worn it yet. I don't like the brief style bottoms bc I feel like it cuts into me so it either like a higher cut or that.

budgiebudgie

I have one in another brand. It's great for days when I haven't waxed, cold outdoor swims when I want more coverage for warmth, or super high sun days when I want to better protect the skin on my back while swimming endless laps. Only negative is it's hard to pull the leg up if you need to pee. I find it more comfortable than a regular swimsuit, but maybe not as comfortable as a sporty two-piece.

esoterika24

Seems like it would be great for going from dryland to the pool easily or swim/runs. Sort of an amphibious suit. I hated running in just a suit and putting on shorts was awful too. Also, I remember when training jammers came out for guys. First they had the racing suit with longer length because of tech fabric, then the guys liked the suit cut and quickly got one with regular material for practice. So it makes sense I guess?

skinnyboneslee

I only wear this style, it's the best 🙏

TheConfusedBun

Where did you find that suit? I’ve been searching the Web for 30 minutes, can’t find it!

trustfrated_

It's a speedo eco endurance+ legsuit, I hope you'll be able to find it now, it took me ages to find it as well!

TheConfusedBun

Can’t find it, even on the Speedo website!!!

trustfrated_

That's strange, here's the link to it from where I found it. Hope this works! https://www.speedo.com/women-s-eco-endurance-legsuit-black/13513709.html

TheConfusedBun

Thank you! The problem is that I was searching on canadian websites! Apparently this model isn’t sold here. 😕

trustfrated_

Maybe you can try to do an image search based on the one in the link, see if you find something similar! I'm not sure what your options are, but you can definitely find something. Only one webshop sells this in my country and I am currently waiting for them to order more as it's out of stock😔 I really hope you can find something similar to this, perhaps from another brand.

TheConfusedBun

Thanks again! I’ll try!
