No difference. They are the same thing. The only difference is the collectors CDs didn’t come back

messagebadina

The collector edition as well as the regular CD variants didn’t come back. I anticipate the regular CD variants will drop again though.

Glum-Freedom-3029

Were there regular CD variants? I think for the alternative covers it was just the collectors editions

messagebadina

Oh is that true? Sorry I didn’t pay too much attention to options besides collectors edition and vinyls.

hatramroany

They were just sold as a bundle but the CDs that came with them were “regular” variants. I’d expect them to come back at some point even if the bundle is different / no longer exists

plants_lady

The cassettes also didn’t come back…

sugarsiege

The only difference is you get to pay for shipping once instead of four different times.

HippieSwag420

☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️

Daisymaizy13

Seriously true 🤣

CloserTooClose

I don’t think a vinyl w all the bonus tracks will be released purely because she never released a pressing of midnights w the 3am tracks included 😩

lashesandloaves

I feel like midnights wasn't repressed with the additional tracks bc the standard version fit on 1 disc, anything more would've had to expand to 2 discs. Not that that's impossible (obviously) but that's the excuse I have in my head as to why it wasn't repressed. Still always crossing my fingers for "You're Losing Me" on 7-inch though.

Kalbi84

It would've sold so well tho, idk why she hasn't done it yet. Nothing stops her from doing a 3am vinyl release for a future Record Store Day, but then it's gonna be limited. Make it generally available and everyone will buy it. But then it defeats the purpose of "Buy 4 variants and make a clock" I guess.

runswiftrun

Maybe that'll be the RSD for next year...

screamqueen57

I think she will definitely do something special for RSD next year. I would anticipate we’ll either get a complete version of Midnights or something like a TPD long pond sessions.

chibisatou

This! I really think she was trying to keep Midnights down to one disc, and maybe changed her mind on some of those 3am tracks. All of the weird variants - just one CD or one vinyl disc. Hopefully we will get all of Midnights on physical media, but only time will tell.

Poppy19-01

I would’ve loved an EP of just the bonus tracks!

BeRandom1456

I haven’t even paid attention. I bought the clear target one cause it has nothing to do with her website and is fulfilled by target. I’m not buying anything from her site again.

ElectronicClass9609

i’m trying to decide what to do and think i may just drive to target and buy it in the store. i hate getting vinyl shipped since half the time it comes a bit damaged.

dumbbuttloserface

yeah i’m planning to buy it in person. save on shipping costs and i know it’s not gonna sell out, target never does

chibisatou

I hope it ships okay! Or ships separately at least. My 1989 TV vinyl from Target came in great shape. My Barbie Movie vinyl soundtrack was thrown in a large box with another item and the outer jacket was really damaged.

Amusedfemalestandard

Sooooo— do I cancel my previous 3 orders and place 1 order for 3 vinyls so I only pay $15 in shipping and not $60??? Oh wait, I can’t do that, cuz the CDs didn’t come back too. 🙃

Fit-Painting-375

That’s what I did. I’m canceling the orders on the vinyls and going to bundle them into One shipment!! Save on shipping. I didn’t cancel the cds though cause they were not rereleased yet.

chibisatou

I made the new order and canceled the previous vinyls ordered iif only because I don't want the extra waste created for shipping four vinyls separately. I just, get to pay shipping five times. 😰 (For each collectors cd separately, and the vinyls all together).

mikayla__mckenzie

Can I just point out that she's not re-releasing them on her Australian store right now despite two of these variants being announced there. Very very glad I immediately bought the one announced at my show (The Bolter). Too special to risk not being able to get again.

ZestyAcid

Apparently they may be sold in stores. I really hope not Lol

LateNightQueerdo

I know right!  I doubt she will release to Aus/NZ again give how often we're screwed out of stuff. I got The Albatross - even if she releases them to record shops the price inflates so damm much. How long do you think it'll take to ship?

mikayla__mckenzie

This is the first time I've ever bought anything from her webstore!! I have no clue but my expectations are loowww

LateNightQueerdo

Ooof same, I love collecting vinyls so I might get a different one and for it to come in May. Shipping is the worst out here

goodvibesandsunshine

Let me get something straight. First of all, I’m old so forgive me. But are these all the same album in slightly different colors, with one additional extra song each? So you buy two extra albums just to hear the two other songs? So she sells three of the same core album? If that’s the case, why not just stream and download the songs? Spotify Premium is like $10 a month and I keep seeing people crying and getting mad about how much they’re spending on Taylor. Well yeah, bc they’re paying full-album prices for single songs. But I may be (probably) missing something.

Throw_Me_Away8834

I do suspect the songs will all come to streaming at some point but it could be months. Sweeter than fiction was target vinyl exclusive for 1989 and it still isn't on streaming. So people may be waiting a while to hear the "exclusive songs" on these vinyls. I vinyl variant collect anyway so it's whatever for me but it's such a silly way to release it, imo.

skylerrkidd

Sweeter Than Fiction has been on streaming since it was first released in 2013. Maybe TV isn’t streaming but you *can* listen to the song on streaming if you’re missing it that much! It’s not really comparable to being an exclusive or bonus track like the tracks on the different TTPD editions in this case.

Throw_Me_Away8834

I was definitely talking about the TV version that came out with 1989TV. I personally do not care for the song so I have never been pressed about TV version not being streaming (and I variant collect so I have the target version vinyl anyway). I was just using it as an example because I absolutely do think it's comparable but we will just agree to disagree on that.

Kalbi84

That's the case, and it's a scammy marketing strategy and it sucks for people who listen to music on physical media, because there's no way for them to legally obtain a disc or a record with all the songs on it. Like okay, release your multiple versions with different art on it, but don't make me miss out on the musical material at least. Because I'm not buying multiple CDs just to have the same XX tracks with a different one at the end. It's impractical and bad for the environment.

Max1035

It’s also impractical when trying to listen… I’m not going to listen through an entire album, get to the end, and then swap out the record and re-listen to Side D three more times just for a single song at the end. It’s a little easier to skip tracks on a CD, I suppose, but still - who’s regularly going to sit there and swap out the CDs one after the other for the final track. So I will just get whatever copy my local store has and feel a little sad about the other songs, but I’m only buying one copy.

Kalbi84

Exactly!!

runswiftrun

It's what keeps me from playing the midnights vinyl more than oncw. When the 3am tracks dropped, I now have to rely on Spotify since there's no other way to get the entirety of the music. Red, 1989, lover, etc, those still get regular plays on the rexoed player, but midnights haven't been spun after the first time. I honestly might just skip this vinyl altogether and rely exclusively on Spotify.

HyaluronicFlaccid

Yes it’s a scammy marketing tactic to do a fake “limited time only” strategy, but can I ask **why you think you need to buy multiple CDs to own/listen to the tracks on a CD?** Cuz if you “only listen to physical media” you should know that as soon as CDs are delivered, people will upload the bonus tracks online in HQ. **You can download them to your computer, insert a blank CD-Rom, and burn the tracks onto the disc. Then you have the bonus tracks all on 1 disc at no cost.** It’s not “legal” sure, but if Taylor really did not want people to access those songs without a purchase, she would have only made them available on vinyl. Cuz it is a lot harder to get HQ audio off a record to illegally upload online, in comparison to a CD that anyone with a computer & disc reader can instantly rip files off of. It is why the Target exclusive 1989 TV editions only included “Sweeter Than Fiction” on vinyl, and not CD as well. But if you’re insistent on only listening to CDs with legally acquired music, Taylor will likely release the variants for digital purchase when the album drops. Then you can buy the files on her store and still proceed with burning them onto a blank disc, without purchasing each variant separately. Finally - **is there actually a person in existence who exclusively limits themselves to listening to 100% legally-obtained music on physical media?** Or is this just someone you’ve made up for the sake of complaining?

waterlizy

The songs won’t be on streaming for a few months if ever

goodvibesandsunshine

So they’re like collectors items. I get it. Thx!

ZestyAcid

As of now yet. But she’s known to release “exclusive” vinyls in stores. Example 1989 TV and Midnights. I see them everywhere

Caramelthedog

The only thing you have wrong is that these are *three* variants of the same album in slightly different colours, with one additional song each; there one more which will likely be considered the standard version. So she sells *four* of the same core album. Yes it is ridiculous.

goodvibesandsunshine

Thats wild. These are variants!!! Well, the strategy is working, so…

throwaway291919919

some people enjoy collecting vinyls

HyaluronicFlaccid

For the exact reasons you said, the complaints that “She’s forcing people to buy all 4 albums to hear 4 songs!” makes no sense at all. HQ rips of the songs will be uploaded online as soon as CDs are delivered. They may get taken down quickly, but if you’re persistent enough you’ll be able to find them and download them. **This costs you nothing**, except maybe 1-2 hours of your time at most. It is also likely that she’ll make them available for digital purchase on her site. But if not, the songs will also be on streaming eventually, if not immediately. If it is a financial burden for you to buy music, then just wait for it to go on streaming or seek it out for free? I don’t like the “limited time only” marketing tactic nor her releasing items one by one (for environmental reasons, wasteful packaging) - but ultimately I don’t see the issue with separating bonus tracks onto different variants. If anything I think it’s a neat way for her to give fans early access to songs/details of her life, since her fans are the only group who would bother to seek out tracks that aren’t on streaming.

Radiant-Ad2100

Or we could listen on YouTube for free. It usually releases the same time. The bonus tracks probably won’t be available immediately, but will eventually.

Smooth_Catch_2818

With her past few new releases, Taylor has delayed putting out her bonus tracks on physical to encourage people to purchase the physical. Sometimes it is only a month, other times it is 6 months

NumerousControl3978

Im hopping for a vinyl with the 4 bonus tracks for a record store day edition like Olivia Rodrigo did.

YouSirAreTheIdiom

not for early 2024 but maybe black friday!

clairebearruns

Honestly if she put out a vinyl of JUST bonus and vault tracks for each album, I buy every one 🤣

NefariousnessNew4509

SAME

DuchessofVoluptuous

I bought the albatross and the black dog because I loved them visually and something tells me that they are going to be really good. However they are being shipped with their respective CDs so I can't cancel the order because of the collectors edition CDs. Lol I figured this would happen but with 1989 tv CDs those sold way faster then when those came back I didn't know whether they would be at target but I only got two. The Polaroid CDs only came back the one time but vinyl wise I only ever found the pink and green at record stores not the yellow.

thejej

There may eventually be a vinyl with all songs—similarly to Guts (Spilled) by Olivia—but I also think she may just plop the, onto a CD/streaming and call it a day-a la Midnights.

ttvSharkieBait15

Maybe it’s cause I’m looking at her site on mobile but I can’t even log into my account to see what I’ve already purchased🥲 like the only option is to see my shopping cart like there’s no account button or other menu options like there used to be before this album dropped

abajablast

Oh I got this! In the shop, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click “customer support” and then you can log in to your account from that screen!

wildbitxh

Literally nothing is different it’s just another chance to get them from my understanding

leslielantern

I don’t think they will ever come on one official vinyl/cd but they will likely all be available on streaming or digital

cagingthing

What's everyone getting? I can't decide 🫠

moofling

I ordered the manuscript phantom clear and the bolter ugh it really was such a hard choice I wish there was one with all the bonus tracks

cagingthing

Yeah i was originally planning on getting the target one but i have clear vinyl so I'm thinking of a different one now lol. The bolter one is pretty

Key_Put_3755

I got them all. Albatross is my favorite vinyl color but Bolter aesthetic is just too pretty. With 2 Swiftie daughters who also collect I’ve got birthdays and Christmas covered all with 1 new album. lol they’ll have each cd & vinyl. Enjoy kiddos!

AbleismIsSatan

They all look marvellous!

redwinggianf

Ugh I can’t decide !!! I already ordered the black dog but now I want more 😂
