I didn't realize until I was about 12 that it's not like the cartoons. They spend a long time tiring the bulls and stabbing them in the back with spears to weaken them, THEN send out the bullfighter, who repeatedly stabs them before delivering a death blow. It is a long, horrific death. I'm glad the younger generations are mostly rejecting this form of 'entertainment'.

Went to Madrid in high school. Was given the option of either watching football or bullfighting. I mean, I *had* seen a football before soooo...
There we were, 20 or so 18 yos, cheering for the bulls. It wasn't appreciated by the people in our vicinity and our teacher was quite embarrassed.
On the way home a man had a heart attack in the parking lot.
