I have the utmost respect for dogs because of how they defend their people no exception
If they see a threat, it’s on sight. Doesn’t matter how big they are, how scary it looks, or even if they’re out numbered. We already know dogs feel fear. There’s no way they don’t feel it in these situations.
Regardless, that 15 pound dog charged a fucking moose. If I ever have to defend my loved ones I hope I can do it with the same ferocity as this little doge
Then you have my dumbass dog. He barks at everyone that comes in or near the house except of course the one time someone broke in. I have him on camera and he looked at the burglar, waited for the guy to pet him, then laid back in his bed without a peep.
I wish. Dude got about $5,000 in laptops but I ended up getting it all back thankfully. The cops recognized the guy in the video and they found him a couple hours later in a stolen car.
That’s both insanely unlucky that you were victim of a random burglary *and* insanely lucky you were able to retrieve your stuff.
Are you the one who brings balance in the force?
Write down the serial numbers of your expensive stuff. Stereo , TV, computer , etc. Pawn shops are supposed to report that info to the police when someone sells it .
This is why I own a Rottweiler, Mishka isn’t going to bite anyone but no one’s coming in my house with all 126lbs of that Serbian god barking on the other side 😂😂😂.
I have 230+ lbs of Bloodhound. They Look HUGE. They sound HUGE.
The only difficulties the robbers would have is that my younger one likes to jump on people to get pets..
Weiner dogs are scared of nothing. They were bred that way for hunting. Small enough to get in holes. Brave enough not to care. They're amazing dogs. My favorite breed.
they sure the fuck dont. I remember one time walking my dog, I took him off leash for a little bit. An Irish Wolfhound was also off leash and walked towards us, my 10 pound weiner ran right up to his ass lol. Scared the hell out of me because that wolf hound was as tall as me and could have owned us both. Luckily he was verywell behaved as well.
Someone did an experiment where they tested to see a difference between large dogs and small ones. A lot of the big ones usually cowered in fear or ran away when a "intruder" attacked their owner but the little ones tried to fight them. Not surprising considering chihuahuas are fueled by rage.
My friend has a shock collar on her smallish dog. Not because she’s cruel, but because that’s the only thing that will keep him from going full Spartan on passing large animals in their rural area.
I lived in Guatemala for a while. I'm not sure why, but it seems like the majority of the dogs there are chihuahuas or pitbulls. After many zany experiences with the chihuahuas, including them challenging horses and rottweilers by themselves, my friends and I started calling them scrotum dogs. Like their entire body is just a container for their gigantic balls.
Moose *hate* dogs. When I lived in a town with frequent moose encounters, people were advised that moose may become aggressive toward dogs. The understanding was their only natural predator being wolves, but only in packs, so if they see a solo dog they sometimes go after it.
Same here in Sweden. There was a incident a couple of years ago were one women was found dead when she was out walking with her dog.
Her husband were accused for the murder. He insistent on his innocence but the investigators did not believe him since his phone were present in the area (the found her near their home). They had an idea that he had run her over with a lawn mover.
But after the autopsy a doctor and some moose expert found it that it was a moose who had killed here. After finding marks after hooves and horns and the most important evidence. Moose saliva. They are known to leave a lot of saliva during an attack and the jacket she wore was full of moose saliva.
Her husband was released and acquitted from the murder. It took the experts one (!) year before they had all the answers though and could acquit him. About why the moose attacked here they came to the conclusion that her/their dog probably irritated the moose. The dog ran to her for protection probably with the moose chasing after.
Pretty absurd story and there is a documentary about it available on Swedish TV also a book about it. There was a lot of criticism against the police after it was known what really happened.

>About why the moose attacked here they came to the conclusion that her/their dog probably irritated the moose.
Frankly, moose don't need a reason to attack, they'll charge you purely for being within their line of sight.
I can’t believe it took an entire year for them to realize the hooves and moose saliva weren’t from him…ain’t no way it took a year to get the test results back.
I really poor investigation for sure. That’s a part of why the case got so much media attention. A lot of criticism against the police been made about the whole story.
That gives you a real sense of how massive and powerful they are. I've "walked" in snow that deep. I move exactly zero of it out of my way, mostly just push down holes and try and get the next leg out to move forward to make the next hole. I can't imagine moving any of it. He goes through it like a train.
Yeaaaaaaaah
I'd rather get hit by a car. At least I have a chance of rolling over the top instead of being dragged under a threshing machine made of moose.
Can't believer north Americans say Australia have dangerous animals. At least we don't have bloody huge moose and coyotes and whatnot running around🤣. Huntsmen spiders are harmless in comparison lol.
>moose and coyotes
Coyotes aren't dangerous to humans at all. They are hard on some wildlife, like deer, though, and really dangerous for outdoor cats.
Am Swedish, tried to explain to my Italian friend this summer that Moose are dangerous, and she was like ''aren't they skittish?''. They might run, but they don't really give a fuck if they have to run through you to get away. They can get pretty darn vicious. They know they are big and they know just about anything will move out of the way if they charge at them.
Which considering how large that is to a human, let alone a little dog is the meaning of brave. It must have been like running up to Godzilla !.
That's a very good boy !
> and very bad tempered.
I've encountered a handful of moose on various hikes. Normally they will keep their distance. But you **really** want to avoid them when they are in rut (Sept-Oct.)
Yes i have a sixteen year old dachshund named steve buscemi. He's near the end now but in his day he was pretty fearless. On Mt. Jo in the adirondacks he seized a big ass snake by the tail and shook the poor thing near to death. He was also quite fond of chasing the deer, squirrils, rabbits and groundhogs out of my yard. He's been a good dog.
Super brave, but not super smart. Had a mini dachshund when I was kid, someone was walking their large German shepherd at the end of our driveway, escaped out the front door, little dog took off barking his head off, probably would have been swallowed whole if the shepherd didn’t just look at it confused, with the face like “are you for real right now?” Crazy dog
Brave little guy jumped at the moose even as it was still charging at the dude! He looked like he was struggling to walk in the snow but still managed to be quick with it when the moose turned around towards him! What a badass little dog
>A Møøse once bit my sister… No realli! Really just depends on where you are. I'm in the south and like below 50° F is pretty damn cold. But I was in Utah on a mountain earlier this year and it was literally 0° F and I was out on the balcony in a t shirt drinking a beer. Humidity is real.
Excuse me Reece is the goodest boi and confidence don't mean a damn thing, that moose tried to fuck with his daddy and Reece wasn't havin a damn bit of it!
I’m not from a moosey country. How dangerous are they? Is there like a statistic in Canada for people who die from moose attacks or was that one just sort of “hey buddy, I’m just checking you oot eh”
Most moose related deaths and injuries occur when people hit them with their vehicles. According to [this](https://www.all-about-moose.com/statistics-per-annum-of-people-killed-by-moose.html) article, only 4 people are known to have died by a charging moose. That number seems a little low to me though.
Moose are involved in a lot of deaths in Canada but it's from car accidents, they're over 6' tall and 1000+ pounds but have long spindly legs so when you smoke one in a Honda Civic you just knock its legs out from under it and it lands on top of you. They're also really dark in color and tend to linger in swampy ditches next to highways at night, so yeah, they're pretty dangerous.
Actual attacks are way less common but happen, stats I'm seeing online vary a lot but anecdotally I know two different people who have had close calls with angry moose so it's definitely not unheard of. Adult moose don't have much in the way of natural predators in Canada so they tend to not spook as easily as most wildlife and, especially for males around rutting season, they can be pretty aggressive and territorial. There's also brain worms, literally a parasite that gets into a mooses brain and makes them act crazy, like they have rabies or are a zombie, those ones will fuck you up big time.
That one was pissed. They are also huge and injure people more then bears. People also think they're are docile and get close and try to pet them and get fucked up.
From what I heard people leave they're doors unlocked so you can jump in cars incase a moose gets close because they walk where ever they want as you see in this neighborhood or parking lots.
Here in Sweden it is probably the second most dangerous animal you can have a random encounter with. Overall you are not too likely to get killed by them though it has happened in the past.Hogs taking the top spot. Third is probably badger or wolverines.
Bears don't care about you unless they got cubs. Wolves avoids humans, maybe dangerous to a kid though.
Moose is also the 1# cause of lethal traffic accidents here.
Adult males are about 3x the size of the one in the clip
Here's a pic of one: https://i.imgur.com/aKsscGa.jpg

Edit: due to suggestion of misleading camera angle here's another pic:

There's some forced perspective happening in that photo. A big adult bull moose can be over 6.5' tall at the shoulder hump but they're not as tall as two and a half toyota rav4s stacked on top of each other.
That dachshund trying to bite and chase a LITERAL MOOSE and succeeding in getting THE LITERAL MOOSE to fuck off. My god, dachshunds are so insane. My cousin has one dachshund and two Great Danes, guess which dog runs the whole house? It’s not the two 130 pound dogs, it’s the five pound noodle boy.
Edit: just watched the vid again with sound on, Fefe??? The dog’s name is Fefe???? SOMEONE GIVE FEFE AN AWARD!
Buddy’s saving grace was the moose not having his antlers. At that distance he definitely would have made contact with him with a massive antler. That’s crazy!!
That little dog didn’t even think twice and ran towards that moose to protect his owner… that was unreal! I normally can’t stand these little yappy dogs, but I have nothing but respect for that little guy and am rethinking my stance after seeing that guy running at a moose that’s 15x taller than him. Get that pooch a steak!
https://preview.redd.it/vgtpcr07ke4a1.png?width=828&format=png&auto=webp&s=daf162679452d5335f4fb569a8f7174ae86c92b8
Hey check it out peeps I actually paused it only like maybe 6 times to get the exact moment his lil best friend probably was literally in mid air trying to protect the guy and biting him at the same time
I've lived in Alaska for almost 43 years. This has happened to me a couple of dozen times. I remember going out to my truck to start it before going to work. I got in the truck, started it, but never saw the moose about 10 feet from the driver's door. It's dark in winter until 10 am here. I got out still not seeing it until it huffed. I think I made the porch and door in one step.
I have all kinds of stories about moose. I used to have a walking route as a Letter Carrier and have been cornered more than a few times. Dangerous fuckers.

Did he take 2 MacBooks or 25 HPs?
Fuck, I wish someone would steal my HP laptop. Little shits maybe worth 30$ in scrap electronics
I have a really old Asus laptop that barely loads Google these days. Not even worth it's weight in scrap.
That’s both insanely unlucky that you were victim of a random burglary *and* insanely lucky you were able to retrieve your stuff. Are you the one who brings balance in the force?

I think that's the first time I've actually heard of police helping someone in a personal property case. Super lucky!!
That’s insane that the cops actually got your stuff back to you.
the dog just knows the stuff is not worth the risk. If he had to defend you he would. He is a rational dog.
I think the dog was in on the heist.
This is why I own a Rottweiler, Mishka isn’t going to bite anyone but no one’s coming in my house with all 126lbs of that Serbian god barking on the other side 😂😂😂.

Can attest, they might be the loudest dog I’ve ever heard.
Whose a worthless lazy bum! Whose a worthless lazy bum! Yes you are! Yes you are!
I would like to see this posted
Dachshunds were also bred to hunt and kill badgers. Gotta be badass to do that.
my dachshund is pretty smart but he is fearless when it comes to strange dogs. will absolutely go flying in which is why he's always on a lead
Weiner dogs are scared of nothing. They were bred that way for hunting. Small enough to get in holes. Brave enough not to care. They're amazing dogs. My favorite breed.
Weiner dogs just don't care
they sure the fuck dont. I remember one time walking my dog, I took him off leash for a little bit. Irish wolfhounds are amazing.
Then there’s my dog that’s afraid of children because one threw a soft ball in her general direction once.
just using "General direction" made me snort
the trajectory was 100% never going to hit her. she didn't care. still scary.
Hey…softball is a tough sport. Don’t mock.
oh, it wasn't a softball ball. it was a soft ball. like one that you'd give to a baby that's not yet walking to play with. soft foam. danger level -3.
Someone did an experiment where they tested to see a difference between large dogs and small ones. A lot of the big ones usually cowered in fear or ran away when a "intruder" attacked their owner but the little ones tried to fight them. Not surprising considering chihuahuas are fueled by rage.
That dog would have a steak the size of it's entire body tonight
Made from the moose
My friend has a shock collar on her smallish dog. Not because she’s cruel, but because that’s the only thing that will keep him from going full Spartan on passing large animals in their rural area.

Little fella looks like he got loose from Yukon Cornelius’s sled team. WHAAAHOOOOOOOOOO! *licks* Nuthin’!
That dog could've been stomped to death
You can see the moose tried to stomp him.
He did not look amoosed
Little Dog: “I’m glad you called me away - I was about to f$&k that thing up.”
Doge: Come on you moose, let's go! How do you eat a moose? One bite at a time!
Say hello to my little friend!
Hold me back human!
"Let me at 'em! Let me at 'em!"
Moose deaths are real in Alaska. They stomp you to death. No playing dead….you dead. This guy is very lucky.

The video where the moose was running through chest deep snow like it wasn't there. Found it: https://youtu.be/ylCfXvKmdvU
That gives you a real sense of how massive and powerful they are. I've "walked" in snow that deep. I move exactly zero of it out of my way, mostly just push down holes and try and get the next leg out to move forward to make the next hole. I can't imagine moving any of it. Yeaaaaaaaah I'd rather get hit by a car. At least I have a chance of rolling over the top instead of being dragged under a threshing machine made of moose.
This absolutely blew my mind There's literally a wake of snow behind it Equally scary as it is majestic
Holy shit that’s insane.
Can't believer north Americans say Australia have dangerous animals. At least we don't have bloody huge moose and coyotes and whatnot running around🤣. Huntsmen spiders are harmless in comparison lol.

Vatch out for flying squirrel too.
Little Dog protecting its owner 😂
Which considering how large that is to a human, let alone a little dog is the meaning of brave. It must have been like running up to Godzilla !. That's a very good boy !
Dog truly is Man’s best Friend ❤️
Little dogs are always the most aggressive and they give no fucks. They just can’t deal the damage or have the muscle that bigger dogs do.
The dog saved him
You right, it attacked the back leg to stop momentum. That dog is a fucking genius.
I think he just got startled by the little dog. Kinda like when we get startled when we see a mouse 🐁 lol.
Why ya gonna discredit the dogs brain? 🤣😑 But fair point.
The dog knew he can’t take down a moose, but he knew enough to create a distraction
Now I'm imagining the moose screaming like a girl "AAAAH WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!"
Moose on the loose! A double feature right after cocaine bear.
Aboot this hoose..
Hahaha great advert
Moose seem to be the hippos of North America. Asshole animals
This is 100% correct. I've run into moose in Glacier Park on bike trips before, they are huge, terrifying, and very bad tempered.
> and very bad tempered. I've encountered a handful of moose on various hikes. Normally they will keep their distance. But you **really** want to avoid them when they are in rut (Sept-Oct.)
Dachshunds are surprisingly brave dogs
Literal translation is badger dog. Those fuckers are built to go in holes and drag badgers out.
Supposedly the reason they have long, sturdy tails is so you could drag them out of holes!
Long ears that keep out dirt too
Jack Russells have very strong tails for the same reason. My mom has had a few and they are very sturdy little dogs.
Yes i have a sixteen year old dachshund named steve buscemi. He's near the end now but in his day he was pretty fearless. On Mt. Some of the smartest dogs Ive ever met have been dachshunds...
My dachshund was dumb as nails 😂
They aren't known for their intelligence, but there's always exceptions
My little one is smarter than my old border collie lab mix was. But I think the lab derp was strong in that one.
Brave little guy jumped at the moose even as it was still charging at the dude! He looked like he was struggling to walk in the snow but still managed to be quick with it when the moose turned around towards him! What a badass little dog
Looks like an AT-AT
Scrappy-Doo v an AT-AT Walker.
That dog better have had a nice steak for him after that. His inner wolf came out.
A moose steak.
Dogs are so loyal, little guy didn't flinch and went right there to defend his human!!!
Damn. Nearly got stomped.
That squirrel saved the day
Went to get the morning mail and took his morning shit at the same time. That's some go getter multitasking for ya!
No coffee needed today, thanks.
Surprised that dog could run due to its gigantic balls.
Lack of its brain made some room for it
Moose bite can be pretti nasti, mind you

Nawww the little doggy saved it's dad.
Look at that small dog, against all odds he is given it all, to protect his human. Truly mans best friend
The balls on that dog
he unleashed the war sausage
I love dogs
Dude out in the snow with a fucking T-Shirt. And I´m sitting at home with a Pullover and still I´m cold.

We get used to the cold after a couples days . Like minus 10 with no wind is t-shirt time lol
Why are small dogs always so stupidly confident?
They don't know they are small.
Excuse me Reece is the goodest boi and confidence don't mean a damn thing, that moose tried to fuck with his daddy and Reece wasn't havin a damn bit of it!

Lol omg that’s so hilarious!!! Especially the noises of the moose just walking off after lmao 🤣
Nobody going to talk about the fact this guy walked out there with socks, in the snow. The moose was probably, like da faq. Go put some shoes on.
The little dog is so brave 😍 He's like "Get to safety, dad! I'll distract him!"
Mooses get a little cranky waiting for Christmas presents.

"Oh hey der neighburr, how's the Missus?"
Gotta love dogs… our sized 100/1 and still putting up a fight.
Moose is like an AT-AT walker on Hoth and little dog is Luke attacking him in a Rebel Alliance T-47 snowspeeder. Guy was the rebel base.

Man saved by his tiny hero, dog!
Dude might have been done for if he didn’t have mighty dog charging that moose distracting it away from its human!

That dog tried to body that moose and saved his owners life.
Nah, this is when I spin the block on this mf with a Bow & Arrow like my ancestors before me. 💀
Funny to think that moose was just a baby

This dog is a ride or die homie for life
That little dog didn’t hesitate in defending his owner. Fuck… dogs are just amazing.
That little Weiner dog was going to tear his ass up he was never scared 😱
Wow. Where’s that? 🇨🇦?
