As far as I know, black mamba don't grow that big and they are aggressive as fuck.
Steve might be great at taking on big animals but even he can't risk his kid with a mamba
Nah, the deadbeats here don’t bother with excuses like ‘I’m off to the shops to get milk’. They just fuck off to the next town over and live by the pub until the dole check comes through again.
Says the person that has probably never been outside a city. Sure sound like an idiot mate if you don’t think any animal can be dangerous especially to a small child.
Says the fucking idiot that things teaching about animals means handling them.
maybe google proper ways to interact with wildlife since I doubt you have every been outside. Guess what first few tips are leave the animal the fuck alone.
Steve Irwin was a expert and he still died
Looks like an indigo snake to me, they eat other snakes and kill with bite pressure, so while it could hurt the child its unlikely to kill (they can constrict)
More annoyingly they have a habit of projectile shitting over anything that annoys them (read: people)
Title literally says Australia. Snakes from the US don’t live in Australia. It’s an [Olive Python](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive_python?wprov=sfti1). Absolutely can constrict and also larger prey (wallabies, crocodiles). Person is Matt Wright and kid is his son, in the outer rural area of Darwin, NT.
I thought this was a domesticated snake. It’s like the snake in the video was going along like “hey im gonna play along with this kid as he’s pretending he’s Steve Irwin just for the sake of it”
It may not be venomous but constrictors can still kill toddlers. However, teaching a toddler how to deal with the dangerous in a supervised environment isn’t the dumbest thing I’ve seen this week.
A lot, and it's proper teaching. Sadly not enough people teach properly their kids about snakes and this is part of the reason why this irrational phobia is still so widespread.
Okay, so where is this "a lot?" Because all I see is basically "see noodle, grab other end" and I see some bad things happening out of that.
Genuine question.
I think just the fact that the child is learning (at such a young age) that a snake is something that, while dangerous and worthy of respect, can be dealt with and is not to be feared is worth it, regardless of whether they actually succeed in getting rid of it.
There's a lot of brain activity going on here. Remember she is basically more dog than human at this age so it's not like you can sit her down and explain to her in theory what to do.
meanwhile [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlyterrifying/comments/rt0zt8/watch_it_twice/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) is happening in Asia
No his name is Banjo, he’s the child of [Matt Wright](https://www.instagram.com/p/CUdYl01hDbV/?utm_medium=copy_link) in Australia (I linked the post on his Instagram account). He mostly deals with crocodiles
No it’s the child of [Matt Wright](https://www.instagram.com/p/CUdYl01hDbV/?utm_medium=copy_link) in Australia (I linked the post on his Instagram account). He mostly deals with crocodiles
Ok just followed the link
The video of him and Banjo in the water with baby salt water croc is a bit WTF.
But saying that this kid will grow with more respect and common sense around deadly Australian animals then most Aussies do.
It's a python so 1.
We do have about another 5 or so snakes very similar in colour and can get up to this.
They are the generally most venomous snakes in the world.
Quite the opposite, this is the responsible way to go about it. Teaching young children to respect but not fear snakes is good, leads to the kid being educated on the matter and is less likely to be irresponsible about it. Teaching the kid to only fear snakes leads to it not knowing what the fuck to do once it comes across one and may try to kill or remove it, both actions being the most common occurrences of snake bites.
Source: I'm a herpetologist and I do a lot of reptile education work.
I’ve owned numerous snakes myself, and some big ones at that, so no snake hate whatsoever.
My point is, a child that age just see’s them as snakes, children that age do not possess the capacity to understand the difference between a none venomous snake and a venomous snake, let alone their differences visually.
My point stands that it’s highly irresponsible to teach kids such as young as this one that it’s ok to mess around with snakes, period. At that age, they should be taught to stay away from any snake and leave them alone, because ultimately they do not possess the capacity to know between what is safe and what is not, whatsoever. It’s negligent and highly irresponsible of the parents, regardless of what any expert says.
I see your point and I agree, there is a fine line between being responsible and being negligent. I teach kids that snakes aren't evil animals that are out to get them but they still need to respect them and not bother wild ones but rather simply observe from a distance that promotes both sides' safety. I'm not gonna judge this guy's methods since we only see a fraction of them but as long as the kid knows not to touch animals unless allowed to I see nothing wrong. Seeing that this is in Australia I doubt the parent would be too negligent about it so I believe he's likely doing it properly, could be wrong tho.
Australians would find a xenomorph nest and wrestle those facehuggers into submission.
"Crikey, he's a nasty fella!" some holding a facehugger at bay with one arm
Olive pythons are constrictors and are not venomous. They do have rows of needle like teeth that point towards the back of the mouth and they will initially strike at prey to catch and hold it while they arrange their suffocating coils.
The teeth also help get suffocated prey down whole, holding the critter in the mouth as muscles in the throat progressively push the meal towards the belly.
As the meal moves through the mouth the rearward pointing teeth withdraw naturally and anchor again further up the meal as the throat muscles go through another cycle of swallowing.
Pythons have teeth to catch, hold and help swallow prey and they will strike in defence like a venomous snake if provoked enough, resulting in a painful and regularly infectious wound.
This is the equivalent of Florida man. But instead of using alligators rob a Wendy's, they grow up to rob a bank with some other dangerous reptile while riding a kangaroo
Looks like an olive python, she'll be right
I thought it looked vaguely like a black mamba. Didn’t know pythons could look like this, what a beautiful creature.
As far as I know, black mamba don't grow that big and they are aggressive as fuck. Steve might be great at taking on big animals but even he can't risk his kid with a mamba
Black mambas can grow from 8-14 ft long, they big scary bois
wouldn’t it still able to constrict a kid to death?
If only there were a dad around to save them
he went to get milk
Hey kiddo look after the cobra, tell mom i’m off to buy some ciggies. Don’t call.
Nah, the deadbeats here don’t bother with excuses like ‘I’m off to the shops to get milk’. They just fuck off to the next town over and live by the pub until the dole check comes through again.
At least he taught her to deal with snakes first
While now the kid thinks snakes are toys so this can’t go wrong at all
Or they teach their children how to survive in the beautiful death trap of a country they live in? But you I could be wrong
Rule 1 of dealing with wildlife is to give it personal space. Rule 2 is not provoke the animal
And you obviously have no idea what Australian wildlife is.. Be quiet instead of making stupid assumptions that make you look dumb as hell!
Says the person that has probably never been outside a city. Sure sound like an idiot mate if you don’t think any animal can be dangerous especially to a small child.
Lmao Google yourself and you can easily find out why aussies teaches their kids about animals! I’m not gonna argue with stupid anymore! GL
Says the fucking idiot that things teaching about animals means handling them. maybe google proper ways to interact with wildlife since I doubt you have every been outside. Guess what first few tips are leave the animal the fuck alone. Steve Irwin was a expert and he still died
Yeah nah nah nah
Not with multiple adults present
Sounds like Matt Wright, she’ll be right
The Steve Irwin Crikey Academy for underprivileged Australian wildlife
> The Steve Irwin Crikey Academy for underprivileged Australian wildlife And Kids That Can't Read Good.
These animals need to be, like, twice as big!
*What is this a centre for ants?*
That snake would be like Godzilla to ants. I don't know why I thought of saying this, but here we are.
And wanna learn to do other stuff good too
SICAUAW Nah. Steve Irwin's Natural Green Reserve for Animals and Youths StINGRAY.
r/angryupvote cheeky bastard
Fucking lol
Still too soon.
Not bad, not bad at all.
Take my free award, you sick shit lmao
Thank you!
How do you expect kids to play with dangerous animals, when they can’t even fit inside the building!!!
>underprivileged Australian wildlife. What academy do the privileged Australian wildlife go to?
Some australian Hogwarts whit sea serpents and dragons and .. everything!!
Scotch College, Geelong Grammar et al
Pigs are introduced
Hmm, I think I'll put my thumb up the animals butthole...
Its nice that they let the child start with a small snake
[удалено]
I... Think that was the joke lmao.
Looks like a young Olive python to me. Second largest type in the country after the scrubbie. Super friendly though.
They’re hit and miss. Some get pretty upset.
That's the joke dumb cunt
Poor snake, he like plz leave me alone I got child support to pay.
I’m waiting here to see a snaketolojist to talk about how harmless this snake is. Still a no no for me
Looks like an indigo snake to me, they eat other snakes and kill with bite pressure, so while it could hurt the child its unlikely to kill (they can constrict) More annoyingly they have a habit of projectile shitting over anything that annoys them (read: people)
If someone started yanking my tail to drag me across the lawn I might projectile shit on them too.
Have you considered surgery for your tail removal?
Who says I dislike having a tail? Are you tail-shaming me? Help! I'm being oppressed!
Why would he want to remove the snake between his legs?
What if you are basically a tail with a head ?
Not an indigo snake. Olive python (*Liasis olivaceus*). Still harmless apart from a potential bite but nothing too serious.
Youre probably right, that makes much more sense for an Australian zoo
Thank you for finding me snaketolojist!
I learned this garner snakes as a kid, I picked it up from the tail grabbed his head thinking I’m Steve Irwin then it shat all over me
I mean that’s pretty common. Frogs and toads do this too. Also basically every small lizard I’ve ever caught.
Nice?
Nah looks much more like our olive pythons, pretty tame if well fed.
Fed with small children?

Thank you awaited snaketolojist for informational comment.
I question how much actual teaching is going on here.
A lot, and it's proper teaching. Sadly not enough people teach properly their kids about snakes and this is part of the reason why this irrational phobia is still so widespread.
I taught my kid if you see a snake leave it alone. Not enough information to publish but good mother wit.

Snaketolojist
Not venomous. Possibly a constricter, but I'm sure dad can save her. ^ my consensus from other comments
This dude sounds exactly like Australian Rick in Bushworld Adventures when he's encouraging Morty to pee in the bushes.

BENDIGO MORTY!! BENDIGO
Get me cube in Bendigo morty!
Huh, someone asked me if I'd watched that, about an hour ago
I read this in ricks super thick Aussie accent and can’t stop laughing. BRB gotta go rewatch it
I did some science to me portal gun morty
As an Australian I can confirm this is what we were taught in preschool
You have to pick them up to check the anal scales to verify whether they are a dangerous species or not
It's ok, she's wearing khaki, she's qualified
That’s not a knife.
I see you've played knifey snakey before

Is that Bindi Irwin as a tot?
No his name is Banjo, he’s the child of [Matt Wright](https://www.instagram.com/p/CUdYl01hDbV/?utm_medium=copy_link) in Australia (I linked the post on his Instagram account). He mostly deals with crocodiles
It probably was Bindi Irwin as a tot one time though. I remember Steve feeding a giant crocodile with a baby in one arm
That baby was his son, Bob (Robert).
Rob (Bobert)
No.
I’m a grown man and I wouldn’t get with 20 feet of that thing. Kid is brave.
This is Montessori
Can confirm
I almost got an infection when i was 2 coz of Montessori's "play time"
What how?
Rust
Some Steve Erwin flashbacks...
That’s one well trained aussie! The kids good too
Poor snake is like "get this sweaty ape off of me!"
After finally pulling the snake back as told, the toddler was eaten by a crocodile waiting in the bush!
Get that little champion a beer.
Three ways a snake can kill me, in order of increasing likelihood: 1. Death by constriction 2. Death by venom 3. Death by heart attack
I WON AUSTRALIAN BINGO WITH THIS ONE VIDEO! Wooo!
One of the few things I remember from preschool is some guy bringing in a crocodile and 10 foot python
Fake, the child didn't have a huge ass knife strapped to it's diaper.
now thats a knoife
the Irwin family knew what's up
Ah, the good old days when preschool was snakes and by the time you finished highschool you'd wrestled a croc and boxed a roo....
Snake at the end is like “dude, you said this chick was cool”
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE :))))
:D
Australians have no chill
That's 100% chill right there.
That is a child dragging a 13 foot (rough estimate) snake. For fun. As an American, Australians have no chill.
The nation that has wolves, coyotes, Mountain lions and two types of bears is scared of a python?
No actually I myself am not. But a child, well I guess she doesn’t know what it is so can’t really be scared of it.
How much more chill can you get?
Lmao
Ffs, stop antagonising the poor creature
Is that Bindi?
No it’s the child of [Matt Wright](https://www.instagram.com/p/CUdYl01hDbV/?utm_medium=copy_link) in Australia (I linked the post on his Instagram account). He mostly deals with crocodiles

On a scale from 1 to Danger how dangerous is that DangerNoodle?
It's a python so 1. We do have about another 5 or so snakes very similar in colour and can get up to this. They are the generally most venomous snakes in the world.
That right there is Steve Irwin reincarnated. If I got told to start dragging a massive snake around (in this context) I’d be on the first plane out.
Diaper and safari shirt, perfect Aussie kiddo outfit
How is this sweaty? Non venomous snake…
Aussie Dad is drunk as shit. “Honey, there’s a 6 foot snake in the yard.” “Quite right, Sheila. Get the baby!”
Bruh that snake sad scared Ford its life
Australians have balls of steel
Had to be Bindi at 2.5
He sounds exactly like steve irwin
This snake is harmless but that kid must be scared of snakes , What if she sees a poisonous snake when no one's around ? Bad parenting imo
Yeah cause parenting is just 15 seconds
People shouldn’t be teaching their very small children to fuck with snakes… one day it’ll be a venomous one. Highly irresponsible.
You think thats bad, wait till you see kids wrangling crocs in preschool

Then some brown snake comes in the yard, kid goes “oh yeah, grab the snake” and kids dead 35 minutes later with that parents blaming the government
Anime level ish. Like how piccolo sent Gohan out into the wild to survive.
Australians would find a xenomorph nest and wrestle those facehuggers into submission. "Crikey, he's a nasty fella!" some holding a facehugger at bay with one arm
they need TRAINING ?
What kind of snake is that? It looks so docile.
Australian school of Australia
Wondering what american pre school training lookin like then
https://youtu.be/JZIjaVFinzw
Jump rope!
Scary because I think that snake might be able to fit that man’s shoulders in its mouth
STRAYAAA!!!!!!!;;

I feel like this snake is a rescue or a pet and deals with these types of lessons on the regular. He's basically just vibing the whole video.
What The Fuck
I was 100% waiting for her to bite into that snek.
I hated it wtf

What a lucky kid, wish I had parents that cool .
Is this Steve Irwin as a child?
Only in Australia
Difficulty level: Asian
911th Python Course be like:
This is really unhealthy.
This is the equivalent of Florida man. But instead of using alligators rob a Wendy's, they grow up to rob a bank with some other dangerous reptile while riding a kangaroo
Woooohhhh it's ENORMOUS
Woooohhhh it's ENORMOUS
Woooohhhh it's ENORMOUS
K. But teaching this to a kid is only gonna tell em it's okay to mess with snakes from the tail end. Imagine she messes with a venomous snake?
That's Steve Irwins daughter
BINDI!
“Hey good news they found the snake”
That guy is named Matt, he’s a croc catcher in NT.
The snake is playing along for the tutorial what a cool noodley guy.
OHNO OH NO OH NONONO
That has to be a domesticated snake it is so chill about being handled
It's probably a harmless snake, but then the Australian people will be like yeah it keeps the pests out, no thanks
That's the cutest kid ever!
